Blaine waved his hand, and a golden badge on the table fell to the ground. The middle-aged man showed a horrible expression, filled with utter despair.

‘He’s Blaine! The young master of the John family!’

Nobody knew that he was actually a God of War!

Despite his well-known reputation in Golden Sands, everyone only knew that he was a cautious and scheming man…

Nobody even thought that he was a God of War in the first place!

He was simply too discreet! He hid his strength so well!

Dragon Cell had provoked someone they shouldn’t have!

An hour later, at the entrance of a relatively quiet residence on Wolsing Road.

Harvey looked at the place with an odd expression.

He dialed Dragon Cell’s phone, but the call was hung up soon after. He got another call not long after, telling him to show up and cooperate with the investigation.

After comforting Mandy and Xynthia, who were in shock, Harvey got Thomas to drive him there.

If he didn’t know that Dragon Cell was a discreet organization, he wouldn’t believe that the ordinary yet wealthy-looking house in front of him was actually Dragon Cell’s branch, the Golden Cell.

After pressing the doorbell and stating his name, the copper gates swung open. Harvey walked into the gloomy-looking courtyard. The place was a lot bigger than he imagined. A creepy aura surrounded the area. It was a depressing sight.

Before Harvey was done looking around, a man in a red uniform showed up. He gestured for Harvey to follow him.

Harvey was soon brought into an ordinary interrogation room. The simplest green tea was seen on the table. There was no air conditioner or heater, either.

For some reason, he could feel a cold chill as soon as he sat here.

A man and a woman soon showed up in front of Harvey with cold expressions, as if they were trying to see through him.

Harvey casually took a sip of his tea with a calm expression, making the place look like an ordinary coffee shop instead of an interrogation room.

The man sitting on the left narrowed his eyes. “How did you get our contact information?”

As one of the four cornerstones of Country H, Dragon Cell was completely different; they had been hiding in the shadows of history for the longest time. They were so well hidden, even ordinary people didn’t know they existed.

Not only did Harvey know of them, he knew exactly how to contact them as well. This was enough to prove that he wasn’t just a normal citizen.

Harvey shrugged.

“There’ve been rumors online saying that people will be rewarded seventy-six thousand dollars after reporting enemies of the country to you. Right?

“Did you even bring the money? I already brought my sack with me!”

Harvey took out his sack and shook it around, as if he was blatantly asking for money.

The man and the woman froze before looking at each other; they had no idea how to figure out Harvey’s identity.

“Enough nonsense! Speak! How did you know that man was an Islander?!” the woman yelled, slamming the table with a frosty expression.

“How did he get crippled? What the hell happened?!”

Darby was shocked, but he was still an experienced young master.

“Who are you people? Don’t you know that this is the Xavier family’s residence? I am Darby Xavier!”

However, the people ignored Darby and pulled the trigger.

There was a loud bang, and Darby’s phone exploded right in his hand.

The flying shards of metal instantly scarred his whole body.

Blaine scoffed; he waved his hand, grabbing the flying shards with ease. He then formed the shards into a ball, and casually threw it to the ground.

The entire place was a complete mess. Darby’s eyes were twitching in rage; at this point, he was ready to fight till the bitter end.

Based on his immense status, nobody would’ve dared to charge into his own house and treat him this way before…

“If you move again, you’ll die!”

Firearms were already pointed at Darby’s forehead before he could do anything. There was a good chance that these people would pull the trigger, judging from their methods.

“Do you know who I am?!”

Darby was enraged; he was just about to stand up, but was slapped down. He wasn’t being respected at all.

“Hello, Young Master Darby. We’re from Dragon Cell. Here’s our license to kill.”

A middle-aged man walked over with a smile and a squint; his words were filled with an unspeakable sense of coldness.

“You were involved in a serious case of attempted murder!

“The Jean family, one of the top ten families, was involved!

“You broke the rules completely, willingly acting against other members of the top ten families with murderous intent!

“Your actions threaten the safety of the Country H Martial Arts Alliance as well!

“We’ll have to ask for your cooperation.

“You can resist, but if you do, we’ll kill you immediately.”

The middle-aged man ran his thumb across his neck. His expression was calm. However, an unspeakable aggression could still be felt on him.

Darby’s eyes kept twitching; Dragon Cell’s name was akin to an entire mountain weighing on him, making his breathing a lot harder.

He started to understand why Blaine was angry at him.

Darby’s expression was awful, and he looked at Blaine. He knew Blaine was the only one who could turn the tables.

The middle-aged man from Dragon Cell smiled grimly when he noticed Darby’s gaze.

“It’s useless, Young Master Darby. Now that we’re here, nobody will be able to stop us.”

“Is that so?” Blaine put his cup down.

His calm aura seeped out, enveloping the entire place with unspeakable horror.

The confident members of Dragon Cell changed expressions; the middle-aged man instinctively took a few steps back, his eyes twitching.

“Tell your master that Darby belongs to me. No matter who slandered his name, your master will have to give me a proper explanation for this arrest.

“If not, he’ll know what’s coming for him…”

Blaine released his aura, forcing the people in front of him to tremble and cough out blood.

The middle-aged man was filled with disbelief.

“A God of War?! How is that possible?

“According to my information, there are a lot of prominent experts hiding in plain sight because of the city’s rich background, but there aren’t supposed to be any Gods of War in the younger generation! Who are you?”

Blaine shook his head in regret. If he knew that Darby was such a useless teammate, he wouldn’t have bailed Darby out in the first place. People like that should just rot behind bars.

“Get Kanae back!” Blaine ordered without hesitation.

“It doesn’t matter what’s going on right now.

“Call him back.

“No, take him out of the country! Don’t let him show up in front of us ever again!

“We’ll just pretend we don’t know him!”

Darby looked at Blaine, puzzled.

“You’re exaggerating things a little, aren’t you?” he said coldly. ” He’s just a live-in son-in-law…”

“Don’t get cocky, Darby,” Blaine replied.

“Do you think a mere live-in son-in-law can sweep up your casino like that?

“Do you think someone like that can just send you behind bars without warning?

“You think he’s completely powerless, but I’m still trying to figure out what else he can do!

“Not just you. Even I lost many times against him!

“Do you want to die? Why would you act so recklessly?”

Darby felt slight disdain after hearing Blaine’s words. He didn’t know if the supposedly legendary young master in front of him was being overly cautious or cowardly.

But at this point, he wouldn’t dare talk back.

“Fine. I’ll give him a call,” he said, scowling. “That said, it’s already been half an hour. Kanae has probably finished his task by now.”

Blaine frowned.

Seeing the horrible look on Blaine’s face, Darby reluctantly dialed a number, scoffing coldly all the while.

However, the call didn’t make it through. Darby’s expression changed, and he called another number.

The call soon got through, and a faint chuckle was heard.” Young Master Darby?”

Darby was scared witless. He instinctively hung up, frowning.

“Someone I don’t know picked up the call!”

Blaine frowned as well. “Who was it? What did he say?”

Darby’s mouth twitched. “I already hung up…”

“You…”

Before Blaine could say anything more, the front gate was rammed down by a car.

A few dark green Toyota Prados parked outside. People in crimson uniforms swarmed the place.

The fierce bodyguards of the John family exchanged glances, confused, and stepped back fearfully. They knew who these people were, and that they couldn’t go against them.

The crimson-clad people kicked down the gate to where Blaine and Darby were seated. They then pulled out their firearms with safeties off.

“Darby Xavier, everything you say will be used against you in the court of law! If you do so much as to move a single inch, you die!”

Those words were filled with murderous intent.

Darby looked frightened, and quickly picked up his phone.

“Stay calm, Young Master Darby.”

Blaine smiled faintly.

“I gave you Kanae for you to protect yourself, not for you to fight Harvey.

“We don’t know much about Harvey yet.

“We’ll pay a great price for going against him right now.”

Darby chuckled coldly. He raised his head to look at Indigo Mountain.

“What else can he hide?

“His title as representative probably doesn’t hold that much weight, anyway.

“If he’s actually invincible, even if we don’t kill him, we can at least screw around with him, right?

“More importantly, if we manage to find out his true identity by probing him, it’ll be easier for us to deal with him later!”

Darby had a confident look on his face, as if he had everything under control.

Blaine chuckled, and took a sip of his Black Tea.

He admired Darby’s impatience quite a bit. It wouldn’t be appropriate for him to probe Harvey. It simply wasn’t his style.

Letting Darby toy with Harvey would benefit him the most. Since Darby was only thinking of reclaiming his reputation, he did seem like a very useful pawn.

Seeing Blaine’s expression, Darby pondered for a moment. He suddenly remembered something.

“Right. There’s something I should tell you.

“I gave Kanae an order when I was bailed.

“I told him to take out Harvey, no matter what.”

Blaine only wanted Kanae to protect Darby so that the latter would have no fear of going against Harvey…

And yet, Darby was risking everything to get Kanae to take action.

“What?”

Blaine frowned.

“I told him to protect you, but you told him to kill Harvey?!” he exclaimed, narrowed his eyes.

“That’s right,” Darby replied coldly.

“I wanted to keep causing Harvey trouble while the ninth branch’s in a complete mess…

“But I feel that killing him would be more refreshing!

“This’ll definitely take him out!

“I don’t care who he is!

“He won’t get a chance to survive against an expert like Kanae!”

Harvey slapped Kanae’s head.

“Good point! If you didn’t remind me, I would’ve forgotten!

“Spies like you are worth seventy-six thousand dollars here! You should be going with the Dragon Cell instead!”

Harvey then dialed a number.

“Hello? Dragon Cell? I’m here to report a spy and get my reward.”

While Harvey was planning to escalate the entire situation using Dragon Cell…

Darby was sitting in front of Blaine in a courtyard.

Blaine looked through some documents for a moment, then sighed.

“We’ve truly underestimated the live-in son-in-law this time…

“A geomancy expert of the Fortune Hall doesn’t mean anything

“But I didn’t think that he’s Representative York from Flutwell, too! This is completely out of my expectations!

“He managed to deal with India’s top talents all by himself. After that, he even became the representative of the country’s Martial Arts Alliance!

Kanae’s expression turned awful. The moment he stepped back, three more bodyguards fell to the ground, paralyzed, as soon as he waved his hand again.

The bodyguards pounced ahead when they saw the sight; the whole place fell into utter chaos.

After all, both Elodie and Reuben were already dead. If the bodyguards didn’t take down Kanae, they’d have to join the two.

More than thirty bodyguards charged forward; these people had at least a bit of fighting experience and possessed impressive strength.

Kanae laughed coldly, then he released his aura. Other than his knife, his entire body became his weapons as well.

He threw attack by attack as he moved forward.

The place had turned into a battlefield.

Harvey, who had retreated to the back, covered Mandy and Xynthia’s eyes so they wouldn’t see such a bloody scene.

“Is it Blaine? He told you to come, no?”

Kanae showed a bewildered expression after hearing Blaine’s name.

“You have no right to get Young Master John to go against you! You’re not worthy!” he exclaimed, scoffing at Harvey.

“If it’s not Blaine, then it’s definitely Darby.

“He’s doing this for his underground casino, right?

“If that’s the case, you killed the right people.”

Harvey shrugged; Darby’s circumstances had a lot to do with the head of the Jean family, after all. Since Reuben was now dead, from a certain perspective, Kanae managed to take revenge for Darby.

“Enough nonsense, Harvey!” Kanae snarled, laughing menacingly. “I’ll have to send you your way now!”

He raised his knife, looking like a vengeful demon.

“I’m sorry, but you have no right to do that. You’re not worthy, after all!”

Harvey took a step forward, then calmly swung his palm forward.

Harvey took a deep breath, as if he was starting to be swayed. He finally glanced at Elodie.

“I’ll offer myself as hostage.

“But on one condition!

“Let the woman go!”

Harvey pointed at Elodie.

“She’s the head of our branch! She needs to be safe! I won’t come to you until she’s out of this place!”

Elodie’s expression changed slightly.

“Harvey, you…”

Before Elodie was done talking, Kanae swung his hand; a dart pierced right through her knee.

“Aaagh!”

There was a bit of distance, but Elodie was still hit; she rolled on the ground in pain, desperately wanting to strangle Harvey but having no power to do so.

“I have control over everyone’s life and death here!” Kanae exclaimed coldly. “If you keep yapping, I’ll break this woman’s arms too!”

Reuben was infuriated when he saw his woman hurt.

“What are you waiting for, Harvey? I’ll kill your entire family if you don’t get over here right now!”

Harvey sighed.

“There’s no need to pretend to break off from me, sir.

“I know what you’re trying to do-you’re trying to protect me by making the Islander think that we’re enemies!

“I’ll remember your deed forever!

“I’ll do my part as the Jean family’s live-in son-in-law!

“I will never give up!

“Don’t you worry!”

Reuben’s eyes twitched after hearing Harvey’s words; before he could say anything, Kanae waved his hand once again.

A dart lodged right into Elodie’s throat. Her body twitched as her life was slowly being whisked away.

She didn’t expect to die like this at such a crucial moment. Alas, there was no point in being angry at this point.

The crowd was dead silent, thinking that the Islander was ruthless. Nobody thought that the branch head would just die so easily.

Harvey was a bit startled; he didn’t think Elodie would get killed, either.

‘The Islander must be an idiot… Are all Islanders like this…?’

Reuben froze, then lashed out in rage.

“You bastard! How dare you kill my woman?!

“I’ll kill you! I’ll fucking kill you!

The chaos paused for a moment; many people glared hostilely at Kanae. The ninth branch would be in deep trouble if Reuben were to die.

The armed bodyguards took a deep breath; they took off the safeties of their guns and pointed them at Kanae’s weak spots, ready to fire at any time.

“Let Elder Reuben go!”

“You’re not worthy to hold Elder Reuben hostage!”

“If you don’t let him go, we’ll kill you right now!”

The higher-ups and bodyguards gathered their courage to speak.

Meanwhile, Reuben managed to calm himself down after a short moment.

“I don’t care who you are!

“But you should know that I’m an elder of the Jean family-one of the top ten families!

“If you lay even a single finger on me, no matter who you are or where you go, the Jean family will definitely end your entire family!

“Your ancestors will be burnt to a crisp as well!”

Elodie stood up, and mustered her courage to speak up as well.

“That’s right! The ninth branch has this place completely surrounded!

“We called the cops, too!

“If you hurt Elder Reuben, you’ll die horribly!

“Even your ancestors won’t be spared!

“They’ll be burned to bits!”

Kanae ignored everyone screaming at him, and glared coldly at Harvey instead.

“It’s almost thirty seconds!

“Do you really want me to do it?!

“If I do, he’ll die a painful death!”

Harvey chuckled coldly.

“Do you know who you’re holding hostage, you foolish Islander?

“He’s an extremely prominent figure of the Jean family!

“He can change the entire ninth branch with just a single word!

“You wouldn’t dare lay a finger on him, even with all the courage in the world!

“Stop pretending already!

“Just let him go!

“If you don’t, I’ll double whatever damage you do to him!” Harvey said.

“How dare you threaten me, you bastard?!” Kanae snarled. He was enraged.

Furious, he grabbed Reuben’s hand and twisted it.

Reuben screamed in pain. He shivered, his face completely lost all color.

Kanae looked at Harvey with a cold smile.

“Do you see that, Harvey?

“You think I wouldn’t dare?!

“So what if this man belongs to the top ten families?

“So what if he has a high status?

“Can you even do anything after I broke his arm?”

“Damn you! How dare you do this to Elder Reuben! You’ll die painfully for this!” Harvey screamed, filled with unbridled rage.” Do it again if you dare!”

Crack!

Kanae twisted Reuben’s other arm, then laughed menacingly.

“Here you go! Don’t think that I wouldn’t dare kill him! You better start listening now!”

Reuben shivered in pain; he wanted to say that Harvey was his enemy and that it was useless holding him hostage, but the pain he felt was enough to stop him from talking at all.

Being a prominent figure, he lived with a silver spoon in his mouth. He couldn’t handle the pain at all!

Harvey was furious.

“You’re shameless, Kanae! How dare you do this to him? As the Jean family’s live-in son-in-law, I will never give up!”

The darts landed on the bodyguards with firearms; they covered their necks, and ended up lying on the ground, looking miserable and completely paralyzed.

Their faces turned black instantly; the darts were poisoned. Before the bodyguards could come to their senses, a coroner wearing a mask waved his hand.

He threw his toolbox forward, knocking a few more bodyguards to the ground.

The coroner pounced right at Harvey, he coincidentally rolled on the ground with Xynthia before coming right behind Elodie.

Elodie screamed in fear, and stumbled to the side.

The entire place was in chaos.

A few bodyguards stepped up, splitting the crowd in two. The distance between Harvey and the coroner was increased.

“You bastard! How dare you kill people of the Jean family? Who are you?” Reuben screamed, enraged.

“Fool!”

The coroner realized that Reuben was the one with the highest status after hearing him shout.

He appeared right in front of Reuben in a flash, and placed a knife right in front of Reuben’s throat.

Reuben, who had been yelling so pompously before, immediately shut up. Sensing his death looming close, he dared not say another word.

“It’s time to die, Harvey! If you don’t come out right now, I’ll kill this old man right now!” the coroner shouted.

He had a cold, yet dry tone with the obvious accent of an Islander.

Harvey narrowed his eyes; he finally remembered who this coroner was.

Kanae! He was Blaine’s expert.

Harvey frowned; Kanae’s appearance was odd.

Normally speaking, Blaine would go for anyone he wanted…but not people who involved with him.

This was quite troublesome indeed…

“There’s a killer here!”

“Protect Elder Reuben! He can’t die here!”

“Get every single bodyguard here! Call the police, too!”

The ninth branch was in utter chaos.

The young women screamed in fear as they fled. The so-called higher-ups stumbled out of the place as well.

The bodyguards all charged forward with firearms in hand.

Kanae dragged Reuben back to a corner, covering up his blind spots.

Reuben was getting angrier the more he spoke. He kicked Lilian and Simon to the ground, and was about to step on their faces.
