“You’re no good, after all. Your lackey’s no different, either…” Harvey kicked Carver to the ground without hesitation. Then he stepped forward to let Kensley do whatever she wanted to him.

Kensley glared at Harvey, filled with fear and anger. She ended up letting him go, resentful.

She had already thought of tons of ways to frame Harvey before taking him out, since he was already brought here.

But if she did anything to him before his charges were set in stone, she’d be looking for trouble. After all, Blaine requested to kill Harvey within reason, not for him to be slapped around again.

The position of acting warden was given as a way for Golden Cell to justify themselves.

Kensley was representing Blaine. If she embarrassed herself here, she’d drag her and Blaine’s reputation through the mud. After pondering for a while, she finally regained her calm.

“Don’t get too cocky yet, Harvey!” she seethed, glaring at Harvey.

“When we’re done with the procedures, I’ll chop your arm off myself and you get gunned down!”

Kensley would only allow Blaine to touch her face. Touching her face in front of so many people was simply disrespectful!

“Done with the procedures? You think I’d be charged for anything?”

Harvey chuckled.

“What exactly do you think that I’ll be charged with?

“For breaking out of jail? Don’t you think that’s hilarious?

“I’m just an exemplary citizen who reported an incident.

“I killed someone? At least show some proof of me doing that!

“Do you think you can just keep me here without any solid proof?

“How do you think you’re going to do that? With your damn face?

“Why don’t you tell Blaine to come at me himself instead of letting you play pretend here?

“What a waste of time!

“I can come and go as I please, anyway.

“Other than screwing around with me, what else can you do?”

“You think you can just go?” Kensley glared coldly at Harvey. “You overestimate yourself, Harvey!

“Even without this incident, you can’t justify yourself for Aung’s death either!

“The Jean family’s higher-ups told us that you crippled him yourself!”

Harvey sighed, then pointed at his forehead.

“Can you at least use your brain for once?

“You know that everyone saw me cripple him…

“But I didn’t kill him.

“Why should I be charged, then?

“At most, I’ll just pay him a few thousand dollars as pension!”

“After you crippled him, you followed him before pushing him into a ditch to drown him!” Kensley exclaimed.

Harvey managed to defeat the entire group of India’s top talents and suppress the four great Martial Arts Alliances. After that, he became one of the directors of the world’s Martial Arts Alliance.

With that kind of accomplishment in the country, only the Head Coach could challenge him.

If Kensley abused her authority without any solid proof, the people of the Martial Arts Alliance could probably kill her with just their spit.

Carver, who had been chuckling coldly all the while, instantly became horrified. He suddenly understood why Harvey returned his words to him.

Had he known that Harvey was the well-renowned Representative York, he wouldn’t dare say all those things to Harvey, even if he was beaten to death!

Carver couldn’t help but shiver after thinking of the consequences. No longer hesitating, he quickly stepped forward.

Harvey looked at Carver with a smile.

Harvey walked forward, and tapped Carver’s face.

“Are you telling me what fairness is?

“You can actually say things like that?

“Don’t you know why I’m here in the first place?

“If I were you, I’d cling to Kensley with all my might until the bitter end. You should just break your arm right now, really.

“It’s a shame people like you will never have that kind of courage.

“I’m curious. You didn’t buy your way to your position as second-in-command now, did you?”

Carver really wanted to pull out his firearm to cripple Harvey, but…

He knew that if he did that, he’d die horribly.

After all, there were those who deemed Harvey guilty.

And yet, Carver was the one who knew exactly how the entire situation went.

“Ms. Kensley, the weather’s getting colder. You should wear black stockings instead! White ones aren’t bad, either…” Harvey began.

“I’d be heartbroken for you if you don’t!

“To think Blaine wouldn’t even buy a pair for you after you’ve been working for him for this long. What a stingy man!

“If you stay with me, I’ll get a hundred pairs for you right now!”

Harvey smiled when he saw the woman’s face.

It was Kensley.

Kensley glared disdainfully at Harvey.

“Since you’re already here, I’ll let you run your mouth this time. Next time you see me, you’ll beg me to let you out. You’ll be licking my soles while you’re at it.”

Harvey shrugged. “Does Golden Cell not have laws? Do you think you have full control over the organization?”

Kensley caressed Harvey’s face, grinning seductively.

“I’m sorry, but I do have full control here.

“I’m the acting warden. I took the position yesterday.

“While the actual warden’s away, I’m in charge of everything in Golden Cell.

“Whatever I say goes. Do you understand me?”

Kensley showed Harvey a brand-new license to kill. The piercing smell of ink could repulse anyone.

Harvey narrowed his eyes, then smiled once more.

“Now I’m really curious. Normally speaking, Golden Sands isn’t a part of the Quinlan family’s territory. The family can’t just stretch its power just for you to be in such a position.

“So Blaine must be the one who got you here in just a single day.

“How did he do it? Even with his identity as a young master, he doesn’t have that kind of power either, does he?”

Kensley was shocked by Harvey’s calmness and deduction skills, but she maintained her frosty face to hide it.

“Make a guess!” she challenged.

“I don’t have to. Either he’s taken complete control over the organization with his unparalleled fighting skills…

“Or he used his authority to force the warden to give in.

“Tell me, why would you rather be Blaine’s lackey instead of the lady of your family? Do you really think that he’s interested in you?

“You’re not even worthy…” Harvey said.

He reached out to tap Kensley’s face. It felt nice to the touch; her skin was soft and plump.

“You…” Kensley instinctively stepped back, startled by Harvey’s actions.

“How dare you tease me like that?!” she exclaimed in righteous fury. “Come! Break his arm!”

A woman in a red uniform pulled out her saber fiercely. Naturally, she wouldn’t hesitate to take action now that Kensley commanded it.

Carver’s expression changed slightly; he was the man in charge of the situation, yet he felt suppressed by Harvey.

“What? Are you unhappy?”

Harvey remained calm.

“Or are you saying that you’re regretting your decision now?

“It’s useless for that. After all, recklessness always has its price.”

Carver’s words were used against him. His expression turned horrible after hearing them.

“Come on. Stop wasting time! I want to see who a double- crosser like you is hiding behind.”

Harvey glanced at Kairi and made a gesture, before casually heading into the back of the Land Cruiser as if he were the actual master.

Carver’s face turned gloomy.

He managed to terrify a lot of people by using his position in Golden Cell. Even princes and young masters would kneel in front of him after hearing about the organization. They’d either beg for forgiveness, or desperately try to use their connections.

Harvey’s reaction was out of the ordinary. Carver was bewildered, and wondered if he had done something wrong.

Soon, he quickly regained his resolve. The man who requested his help was one who had recently risen to power in the top ten families.

With such a prominent figure, it didn’t matter how impressive Harvey was. What could he do in the face of such might?

Carver got in the car as well, then waved his hand. The three Land Cruisers drove into the deeper parts of the Indigo Mountain soon after.

The cars got off the dilapidated roads before driving on a muddy road. The sound of rustling grass and trees that came in contact with the car hoods could be heard.

Harvey narrowed his eyes and looked outside the window. He figured out that he was transported to the deepest parts of the Indigo Mountain that nobody would normally get close to.

Creak!

An hour later, the Land Cruisers parked in an open space. This place was five thousand and three hundred square feet wide, and there were no buildings around.

Along the edge of the cliff, an ancient castle could be seen. It was likely at least hundreds of years old; even after many renovations, it still seemed dilapidated.

Some people could occasionally be seen at the window. There were a lot of experts protecting the place.

“This is Golden Cell, Sir York. Every single person locked up here is a heinous felon. This is where you’ll be staying for the rest of your life. Hopefully, you’ll get used to the air around here.

Carver made a gesture, then smiled.

Harvey got out of the car, and took in his surroundings.

“Good place! It’s excellent!

“If you don’t kill a few people every single day, you’d be wasting this place!”

Clap, clap, clap!

“As expected of the city’s top geomancy expert! You have a pretty keen eye.”

The main gate slowly opened, and many people swarmed out.

Just then, a lovely voice was heard. A woman in a dress appeared, accompanied by more red- uniformed guards.

“Why don’t you find a good spot to bury yourself in while you’re at it? I’ll come visit every year. How does that sound?” she taunted.

“Probably not.” Carver smiled.

“But it’s still easy for us to kill a person or two. If not, what would happen to our reputation?”

Carver then waved his hand.

“Come! Take the suspect away!”

A dozen men in red uniforms stepped up, with safeties off their firearms. Their faces were frosty, and they looked fully prepared to take a life away.

“We’ll see if you dare!”

Kairi glared coldly at Carver.

“You use my name to bail Harvey out, and now, you’re slandering him and giving him bogus charges? Do you really think my position is just for show?!”

Kairi wasn’t sure who was really behind the entire situation, but…

She knew Harvey would be in a lot of danger for this. He had gone against too many people in the city.

If he was actually locked behind bars, too many people would make sure it stayed that way.

Following Kairi’s command, her bodyguards raised their firearms, looking grim. The air tensed up instantly.

Carver smiled calmly as he looked at Kairi.

“Of course I know just how impressive the Patel family is.

“Even so, the five major branches of the family are about to gather. The main branch is about to have a lot on its plate. Are you sure you want to go against Golden Cell right now?

“Have you not thought of the consequences?

“If you’re really dead set on doing this, then be my guest. Us honest folk will never argue against that.

“But if that’s the case, we’ll have to see if you’re able to take responsibility after that…”

Carver waved his hand, and the people in red uniforms lowered their firearms as if they wouldn’t fight back if Kairi decided to take action.

Kairi’s expression worsened immediately.

She wasn’t afraid of going against Golden Cell, but…

Just as Carver said, if the princes of the Patel family’s five major branches were to gather, the main branch would be in a tough spot if they fought Golden Cell.

The Patel family was being pushed around!

“After all, recklessness always has its price.”

Seeing Carver’s confident expression, Harvey smiled.

“Fine. I’ll come with you.”

Nobody would be able to take Harvey away if he didn’t allow it. However, he wanted to make sure whether Blaine was actually behind the entire situation or not. Perhaps someone else was involved as well…

“Not bad! You’ve got guts.”

Carver froze after hearing Harvey’s words.

“Is that so? Tell me, will you start to feel regret about this after a few days?”

The Patel family bodyguards instinctively pulled out their firearms.

A dozen people in uniforms swarmed out as soon as the car doors opened. The person leading the group was a handsome man.

It was Golden Cell’s second-in-command… Carver Ruiz!

Carver ignored everyone else, and strode toward Harvey and Kairi with his subordinates.

“Who are you people?” Kairi frowned, glaring at them. “Do you know what this place is?”

Her bodyguards instantly raised their firearms, their expressions fierce.

Harvey narrowed his eyes and looked curiously at Carver’s smug arrival. This man was playing both sides, after all.

“Carver Ruiz of Golden Cell.”

Carver smiled gently as he revealed his license to kill.

“My position isn’t that high-I’m only the second-in-command.”

Kairi narrowed her eyes after hearing about Carver’s position. Before she could react, Carver spoke up.

“Harvey York, you’re suspected to have escaped Golden Cell. You need to be punished for your crime.

“Someone also accused you of killing Master Aung of the Jean family’s ancient lineage.

“You’re also suspected to have orchestrated the murder of Young Master Nameless of the Faceless Group.

“Golden Cell has been looking into every single one of these cases!

“We’d like you to cooperate with our investigation.

“Besides, I know that you have a good relationship with the Patel family and the Hermit Families!

“Well, you won’t be able to use any of those connections against Golden Cell!

“Whoever resists will be killed on sight!

“We have been authorized special permission by law.

Carver remained calm as he showed his license to kill. For him, nobody could go against Golden Cell’s authority.

If Harvey didn’t see this himself, he wouldn’t have believed it.

“What’s the point of all this, Carver?” Harvey sighed, then took a step forward. “Need I remind you that you were the one bailing me out?”

“The second-in-command did? What a joke!” a member of the Golden Cell screamed furiously.

“You’re resisting the law for murder, and now, you’re even slandering one of Golden Cell’s higher-ups! You deserve to die at this point!”

“Looks like I can’t just talk this through…” Harvey sighed, then sent a text through his phone.

Even a lion would use all his strength to hunt a rabbit. It was time for Harvey to deal with the situation seriously.

Carver smiled, tilting his head.

“Even if I did let you out…

“The truth is, you escaped before even proving your innocence!

“If you were just a suspect before…

“Now, you’re no different from an escaped convict!

“I’m sorry, but you’ll have to come with us. If not, we’ll be forced to take you down!”

Kairi’s expression darkened. “Do you think Golden Cell can just do whatever it wants in Golden Sands?!”

“That’s right. Blaine has been asking the Patel family to listen to the Johns. He’s been requesting a marriage between the families for the longest time…” she said, after taking a deep breath.

“I knew he was trying to get involved with the family through the marriage, so I blatantly declined.

“He stopped talking about this as of now, so I thought that he already gave up. I didn’t think that…”

Kairi smiled at Harvey, then took out her phone.

“Thank you for this, Sir York. Now that I know who’s behind all this, it’ll be easy for me to handle the situation.

“Blaine’s pretty unlucky to go against you, huh?”

“That depends. If I’m not careful, I might be the unlucky one here,” Harvey replied.

“I’m a lot more curious about Blaine now. Normally speaking, a young master of the John family wouldn’t have an easy time controlling one of the four cornerstones of the country, even with Evermore’s involvement.”

Harvey casually explained what happened in Golden Cell.

Kairi was dead silent for a moment. Her face was stormy.

“I know Carver, but I’ve never seen him before. We’re not close enough for me to ask him favors like this.

“He’s either doing it using my name, or…

“Someone’s trying to frame you.

“This is a little troublesome.

“Let me look into this. The Patel family has people on the inside, as well.

Harvey nodded.

Harvey was speechless.

‘Can’t we just have something normal instead…?’

After ten minutes or so, the two exited the clubhouse.

The Patel family bodyguards had someone start up the car, planning to drive Harvey and Kairi.

But since Carver was confident that he’d be able to help, Harvey decided to keep quiet. He also wanted to see just how powerful Blaine was for Golden Cell to be this terrified.

Kairi was on a call with someone. She was standing on a balcony separated by a wall.

“How?!” she exclaimed with a furious expression.

“How did something happen to the old man?

Kairi hung up, furious, and strode back inside the room.

She froze when she saw Harvey; she quickly hid her feelings, and flashed him a seductive look.

“Why are you here, Sir York? I heard that you went to Golden Cell. I thought you’d be locked up for a few days. I was planning to bail you out, too… Didn’t think that you’d get out that easily!”

“You were planning to? Didn’t you do that already?” Harvey froze.

“Did I?” Kairi was confused. Naturally, she didn’t even get the chance to do anything yet.

Harvey wanted to talk about Carver, but he decided to change the subject after seeing Kairi so absent- minded.

“I’ll tell you about it later. What happened to you?”

Kairi figured that Harvey caught bits of her phone conversation, and sighed.

“My grandfather’s in a bad state right now. The Patel family’s been spreading rumors that he’s about to pass away.

“The princes of the family’s five major branches decided to see him one last time. They definitely have ulterior motives for coming back!”

Kairi was clearly in a bad mood.

“The Patel family has branches?” Harvey frowned. “I remember now. Elias belongs to Mordu’s branch, right? I’ve seen him before. Where are the other four branches from, then?”

Kairi was shocked that Harvey knew who Elias was.

“Other than the main branch in Golden Sands, there are five other major branches in Wolsing, Mordu, the Northsea, Gangnam, and one overseas.

“These five branches are very powerful as well. They all hold a large amount of authority and resources.

“Among the five, the one in Wolsing and the one overseas are the most powerful.

“Since you know who Elias is, you should know that he’s at least quite capable.

“However, he’s completely inferior compared to the princes from Wolsing and the one overseas.”

The man and woman revealed horrible expressions after hearing Harvey’s words. They didn’t think that Harvey would still tell the truth under such circumstances.

If they went with the usual procedures, they wouldn’t have anything to tell their superiors!

Right as the two were thinking of ways to force something out of Harvey, the door was suddenly pushed open. A figure showed up, and smiled at Harvey.

“Sir York! You should’ve called me after coming here! Are you looking down on me?”

A handsome-looking man in a red uniform walked in.

Harvey frowned; he didn’t know the man, but he didn’t say anything about that.

The handsome man glared at the other two.

“Don’t you two know that Sir York is my friend? Get out of here, and bring some good black tea while you’re at it!”

“Of course!”

The man and woman looked at each other before walking out helplessly. A cup of black tea was served on the table soon after.

The handsome man then sat in front of Harvey.

Harvey took a sip of the tea, then smiled.

“Blaine’s the one trying to take me out. I don’t care who you are, but have you thought of the consequences of bailing me out right now?”

“I’ll be frank. My name is Carver Ruiz. I’m friends with Ms. Patel.”

Carver chuckled calmly.

“Not a lot of people in the city’s upper social circle know me, but I have a pretty high position in Golden Cell. I’m considered the second-in-command here.

“I came because Ms. Patel asked me to.

“I’ll find a way to deal with your conflict with Darby as well.

“Just give me some time, alright?

“I’ll make sure to give you an explanation for all this.”

“Give me an explanation? You’re not planning to hide all the unfinished business now, are you?” Harvey asked.

Carver took a deep breath.

“There’s something you don’t know, Sir York. Not only are the John family and the Xavier family involved, but I also suspect that there’s someone behind all this too…

“I have to take action.

The woman suddenly stopped speaking, and glared coldly at him. The man, on the other hand, burst out laughing.

“You must be joking, Mr. York!

“We’re happy to lend aid to our citizens.

Naturally, the man and woman were trying to intimidate Harvey. That way, they’d be able to force everything out of him.
