    Chapter 832 An Enticing Exchange

The Coopers scarcely stood a chance under a combined attack by the three families.

Sylvester gritted out, “Fine. We’re leaving.”

He led his men away with a dark expression on his face.

Sylvester’s embarrassing retreat had Sean complaining, “Sylvester, those fellows are too aggressive. At this rate, we won’t be able to get anything worthwhile out of this island. We can’t avenge Xander as well.”

Sylvester remained stoically silent, his face a mask of deadly fury.

The silence dragged on for several minutes before he hissed, “Let’s look for that Demonic Cultivator. If we work together, we don’t need to fear those youngsters.”

Sylvester had also noticed earlier that the Demonic Cultivator was a Martial Arts Grandmaster. The cultivator was undoubtedly lying low now that his true identity was exposed.

If we can track him down and propose an alliance, Kenneth and Kristoff will be no match for the power of two Martial Arts Grandmasters. We can easily take them down even if the Zare family joins the fray.

Sean stammered fearfully, “Sylvester, y-you’re thinking of working w-with that Demonic Cultivator?”

If word got out about the Cooper family’s cooperation with Demonic Cultivators, they would be cursed out for generations to come.

“This island is completely under the radar. No one will know what we’ve done. In any case, we can get rid of him after our partnership ends.” Sylvester drew his finger across this throat, a deadly glint in his eyes.

On the other side, Kenneth and Kristoff had reached an agreement. They picked up their weapons and approached the white wolf, intending to kill it.

They raised their weapons just as Jared stopped them and asked, “Gentlemen, could you leave the wolf to me?”

“You want a share of the beast core too?” Kenneth asked in shock.

Shaking his head, Jared replied, “I don’t want the beast core. I pity the wolf, and I want to spare its life.”

His explanation sent Kenneth and Kristoff into fits of disbelieving laughter.

Kenneth sneered, “Who do you think you are? A heavenly savior? This white wolf is nothing but a beast. Why are you pitying it? I can sense a deadly aura from you, so I’m sure you must’ve killed fellow men in the past. Why are you expressing sympathy for a mere wolf if you can even bear to kill a fellow human?”

“Some people may be weaker than a wolf. As long as the two of you promise not to kill it, I can give you something in return.”

Jared did not wish to resolve their situation with a physical fight. His present ability placed him at a disadvantage against the combined forces of the two families. Both the Carrall and Shalvis families had a Martial Arts Grandmaster each in their bevy of men, and Kristoff himself was a Top-Level Senior Grandmaster. Jared’s odds of emerging victorious in the fight were not guaranteed.

Besides, Jared was more interested in conserving his energy to search for the draconic essence instead of fighting.

“What do you propose for exchange?” Kristoff asked, his interest piqued.

Jared pondered his question carefully. He knew both men came from affluent families, and average items would hardly pique their interest. Resultantly, Jared offered, “How about two detoxification pills? I’ll trade two of those things for this wolf.”

“Detoxification pill?” Kenneth and Kristoff were both stunned, their eyes widening in identical surprise.

Detoxification pills were a must for any martial artist seeking to enter the heavenly realm. Not everyone could enter this mysterious location, nor could any martial artist simply begin to practice spiritual energy cultivation.

The detoxification pill reconstructed one’s body, opening up the possibility of sensing spiritual energy. If one successfully perceived spiritual energy, one could begin practicing cultivation methods to absorb spiritual energy into one’s body. This was the most crucial step for any martial artist to embark on the cultivation of spiritual energy.

The creation of detoxification pills was not difficult, but there were fewer and fewer alchemy masters around, let alone those who knew how to craft the precious pills. Every wealthy family viewed these pills as a necessity, causing demand to outweigh supply, which turned the pill into an invaluable commodity.

    Chapter 831 A Fair Share

Sighting his audience’s rapid advance, the suit-clad man spared one longing glance at the white wolf before darting into the depths of the snowy forest.

“D*mn it! You’re lucky you’re a fast runner! I’d skin you alive if I got my hands on you!” Kenneth cursed.

Meanwhile, the wolf continued howling pitifully at Jared’s feet. It sent Jared a pleading gaze as though begging for mercy.

Jared met the wolf’s gaze, and he realized he sympathized with the creature.

Though the wolf was a beast, it evidently possessed some form of human intelligence, allowing it to understand human speech and make conscious decisions.

Kenneth approached Jared then and muttered, “The white wolf is huge. Its beast core must be incredibly precious.”

He swung a blade in his hand, ready to send the creature to its end.

Gravely injured, the white wolf had no means of defending itself.

Just as Jared hesitated about saving the wolf, Kenneth’s swinging blade was halted in its motion.

Kristoff had blocked Kenneth’s attack, and he complained, “This white wolf doesn’t belong to your family, Kenneth. Were you thinking of taking the beast core yourself?”

Kenneth fumed and retorted, “What do you want, Kristoff? The beast core belongs to whoever kills the white wolf first!”

“The white wolf is defenseless. Anyone can kill it with a simple stab. Based on your reasoning, the beast core is mine if I kill the white wolf now!”

Kristoff suddenly swung his sword at the white wolf while he responded to Kenneth’s words.

    “Kristoff! You despicable man!”

Kenneth hurriedly struck his blade toward Kristoff, forcing the latter to retract his weapon.

Their reinforcements assumed defensive stances behind the two men as though ready to fight.

Alarmed, Colin ran toward them and placated, “Kenneth, Kristoff, stop fighting. If the two of you injure yourselves over a wolf, we’ll never be able to leave this island. That Demonic Cultivator won’t let us off the hook, either.”

His mention of the Demonic Cultivator did the trick. Kenneth and Kristoff swiftly brought their fight to an end after exchanging a punch.

If their families truly entered a fight, both parties would suffer unnecessary injuries and deaths, leaving a golden opportunity for the Demonic Cultivator to swoop in and steal the reward.

Kenneth eventually huffed, “I’m not scared of you, Kristoff. I don’t want that Demonic Cultivator to take advantage of our distraction and obtain the beast core. We’ll resume our fight once we leave Dragon Island.”

“My pleasure,” came Kristoff’s firm agreement.

Colin added, “Kenneth, Kristoff, there will be plenty more beasts on this island. There’s no need to fight over a white wolf. We can always split the beast core evenly. You know what? I’ll even give up my share as a goodwill gesture.”

Kenneth and Kristoff exchanged a glance and nodded tensely. “Fine!”

Just then, Sylvester stepped forward and piped up, “Mr. Carrall, Mr. Shalvis, the Cooper family arrived before all of you. Don’t we deserve a share too?”

Kenneth took out his pent-up rage on Sylvester and roared, “Get lost! The Coopers are sh*t! You don’t deserve a share with us!”

Humiliation washed over Sylvester after he was being told off by a young man like Kenneth. Still, he could only suppress his displeasure and rage. Even with reinforcements, Sylvester was too weak to defeat the members of the Thunderstorm Sect.

If he engaged Kenneth in a battle, Colin Zare of the Shadow Estate and even Kristoff of the Shalvis family might join the fight and worsen Sylvester’s chances.

    Chapter 830 The White Wolf

Colin approached Jared. Like a know-it-all, Colin explained, “This white wolf must be as big as an ox thanks to the influence of giant dragons on this island. I heard that there are two dragons on this island that are covered in magical items. Any beasts living with these dragons on the island must have evolved to challenge their biological limits and become fearsome monsters.”

He hoped that his knowledge would improve his relationship with Jared, which would considerably aid his pursuit of Renee.

Jared merely eyed Colin silently, dashing the latter’s hopes.

Just then, the white wolf let out a growl and charged at its suit-clad opponent after observing the latter’s momentary distraction.

The fur of the white wolf bristled, standing straight and sharp as a blade. It would surely draw blood if it made contact with human skin.

The white wolf leaped through the air, baring its fangs menacingly.

The suited man frowned and rolled out of the way, barely dodging the white wolf’s attack.

He was a Martial Arts Grandmaster, and his struggle against the white wolf spoke volumes about the beast’s ability.

Plus, the white wolf’s high intelligence allowed it to identify an opportunity to strike when its opponent was distracted, causing the suit-clad man to fumble.

The suited man had barely regained his footing when the white wolf charged once more.

Startled, the man tensed all the muscles in his body and swung a fist at the wolf.

The fist landed smack on the abdomen of the white wolf, causing it to fly back from the impact.

The white wolf howled pitifully and landed in a heap at Jared’s feet.

“Ah!” Frightened, Josephine and the girls stumbled backward.

Though they all knew martial arts, the size of the white wolf instilled fear in their beings.

Noticing Renee’s fear, Colin assumed the role of a hero saving a damsel in distress. He pulled out the dagger at his belt and declared, “It’s just a beast. I’ll kill it!”

He stepped forward and was about to slash the beast.

A subordinate stopped him before he could approach the beast. “Mr. Zare, you must not approach the beast. It might swallow you whole.”

After all, Colin was merely a Grandmaster, and it was entirely plausible for him to become beast chow.

The warning caused Colin to retract his steps and shrink in fear.

Meanwhile, Jared stared at the injured white wolf at his feet. The fur covering the wolf’s abdomen had changed from white to black, and the ominous change was spreading rapidly.

Jared knew that this was caused by lethal intent entering the white wolf’s body. The suit-clad man’s fist had channeled his entire energy, which enabled lethal intent to enter the wolf’s body.

Nearby, Kenneth and Kristoff similarly observed the change in the wolf. Their eyes widened in shock as they gasped, “Demonic Cultivation?”

Sylvester’s guard immediately went up when he observed the change. Then, he glared at the suit-clad man warily.

The suit-clad man was about to step forward and end the wolf’s life. He faltered when he noticed the audience’s knowing stares. Realizing that they had uncovered his true identity, the suit-clad man froze in indecision.

“Damn it! He’s a Demonic Cultivator. I freaking hate Demonic Cultivators!” Kenneth’s temper flared, and he strode determinedly toward the suit-clad man.

Kristoff followed him, along with the fighters they had brought with them.

Every ancient family and clan member had been taught to kill Demonic Cultivators on sight. Consequently, Demonic Cultivators took extra precautions to conceal their identities.

    Chapter 829 A Warning

“Why did you come after me?” Renee complained.

Colin stammered through his explanation, “I-I was worried that the Coopers would bully you, so I chased after you with some reinforcements. Plus, this island is dangerous. I wanted to protect you myself.”

Renee replied curtly, “I don’t need your protection. Jared, Josephine, and Lizbeth are more than enough. It’s not like you can win anyone with your current abilities anyway.”

Her scathing reply put Colin in an awkward position. Eventually, he muttered, “We have many skilled fighters in our family. I didn’t bring them all along on this trip. Don’t write me off because of my weak skills. I’m willing to risk my life to protect you.”

His bold vow stunned Renee into silence. The young woman had never received such a heartfelt confession in her lifetime.

Noticing that her friend was at a loss for words after Colin’s curveball of a confession, Josephine stepped forward and tugged on Renee’s arm. She pulled Renee behind her and barked at Colin, “Don’t even think about fooling Renee. Rich playboys like you are only good for your silver tongues.”

Josephine then dragged Renee along as she turned and left. Lizbeth pointed a warning finger at Colin and hissed, “Don’t you dare follow us.”

The three ladies continued following Jared while Colin and his group trailed them from some distance. His stalking irked Josephine and Lizbeth to no end.

Jared tried to pacify them by saying, “Let them follow us. Just ignore him.”

Jared had long dismissed Colin’s presence as a threat despite his playboy behavior. In any case, the men Colin had brought with him were weak fighters, and if push came to shove, Jared knew he could defeat them easily.

They had been walking some time when a menacing howl pierced the silence.

The howl was so loud that the ground vibrated, causing a flurry of snow to fall from the trees.

Jared froze in surprise and sped in the direction of the howl, followed closely by Josephine and the others.

Colin jumped in surprise when he heard the howl. However, upon seeing Jared and his group heading toward the source of the howl, Colin plucked up his courage and led his men in pursuit.

Jared saw a massive white wolf after they had walked a short distance. The wolf had a snowy, white coat and was as big as an ox. Its eyes glowed eerily, and its hair bristled with hostility, looking like sharp, iron spikes.

A man dressed in a suit stood before the wolf. He glared at the beast, his body poised to strike at any moment.

The Cooper brothers were observing the man and the wolf from the side. Everyone else soon joined the fray, including Kenneth and Kristoff.

This was the first beast everyone had encountered since setting foot on the island. It looked unusually large, a consequence of absorbing the island’s spiritual energy over the years. It was likely to be extremely intelligent as well.

The suit-clad man turned around slightly and noticed his spectators. He could not help but frown.

He had gone two rounds with the white wolf before this. Though he had not successfully killed the beast, he had the upper hand, and victory was merely a matter of time. Then, he would be able to kill the wolf and obtain its beast core.

Now that he had an audience, however, the suited man knew that it would be more difficult to escape with the beast core.

Jared stared at the humongous wolf and exclaimed in awe, “I never imagined there would be such a fierce white wolf in such a cold place. We might encounter more frightful creatures on our journey.”

Jared did not know if he would find the rumored Ice Dragon and Flame Dragon on this island or if he even could defeat them and obtain the draconic essence. If a white wolf was already this strong, the two dragons were undoubtedly more powerful. The thought sent chills down Jared’s spine.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 828

    Chapter 828 A Treat

Colin declared, “I won’t lose interest! I will win Renee over!” With that, he led the others in pursuit of Jared’s group.

They had barely taken two steps when Colin turned around to address Kenneth and Kristoff, “Both of you aren’t allowed to mess around with Renee’s friends, got it? If you want to enjoy the company of women, I’ll send you a truckload after we’re back.”

Kenneth snorted and replied, “Cut it out! I never said I was going to play around with any woman. That’s all in your imagination.”

He did not alight from the boat to pursue women in the first place.

Kristoff, on the other hand, had been interested in hitting on the pretty Josephine.

Colin’s point-blank warning had him smiling and saying dramatically, “All right. I will sacrifice myself for your happiness!”

“Kenneth, Kristoff, I’ll treat both of you to drinks after this!” Colin announced before setting off in hasty pursuit.

Kenneth and Kristoff exchanged a tense glance before following Colin.

Meanwhile, Jared had led Josephine and the others deeper into the island. After checking that no one was following them, he took out his map and checked it. He confirmed their bearings and continued walking.

There was little trace of human activity on the island. Thick snow made it difficult to see into the distance. Additionally, the island was shrouded in dense spiritual energy.

Josephine took a deep breath with her eyes closed. She sighed, “The air on this island is amazing.”

Jared smiled at the sight of Josephine’s expression and commented, “Don’t breathe with your nose. Try to use your body to absorb the surrounding air.”

Josephine could sense the spiritual energy on the island thanks to the detoxification pill she had consumed earlier; this was how she perceived the exceptional freshness of the air in regions with high levels of spiritual energy.

“You don’t need to lecture us on that. Mr. Deragon taught us that trick a long time ago,” Lizbeth teased.

Josephine and Lizbeth had both eaten detoxification pills. Their bodies had undergone changes that allowed them to detect the presence of spiritual energy. They also studied cultivation methods and learned to absorb spiritual energy into their bodies, officially embarking on the path toward spiritual energy cultivation.

“That’s great. The spiritual energy here is strong, and we can take the opportunity to strengthen ourselves,” Jared said.

The pores on his body expanded and began absorbing the spiritual energy around him as though they were starved.

Jared was now in the Fourth Tier of the Transcendence Phase. Defeating a Second Level Martial Arts Grandmaster was peanuts for him. Armed with his magecraft, Jared could give a Level Three Martial Arts Grandmaster a run for his money.

I wonder when I’ll achieve Core Formation Phase. Even a Martial Arts Grandmaster at his peak would hardly frighten me then!

Jared had never longed for power and strength more than he did at that moment.

He knew that being invincible was the only way to save his mother and make the Deragons pay for their crimes. His heart ached when he thought of the torment his mother had experienced for over twenty years.

Just then, Colin and his men caught up to Jared’s group. Colin rasped, “Wait for me, Renee. Wait for me.”

Though Colin’s abilities were equivalent to that of a Grandmaster, his pampered upbringing had not prepared him for the biting cold on the island.

Jared frowned slightly at the sight of Colin’s men. It’ll be difficult to execute our plans if there are people following us around!

Josephine teased, “Renee, does he actually like you?”

Renee looked displeased with Colin’s pursuit. She knew why they were on Dragon Island, and their group needed to act alone, or they would only invite trouble.

Colin neared their group and grinned. He uttered, “Renee, you ran away so quickly. It was so hard to catch up to you.”

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 827

    Chapter 827 Fallen In Love

When the old man’s aura came in contact with Sylvester’s, they canceled each other out.

Colin’s men took the chance to regroup, and Sylvester frowned. He looked toward Kristoff and the old man.

Kristoff stepped up and told Colin and Sean, “Can you end this battle here? We’re here to search for treasures, and if possible, we might get to meet a dragon as well. We don’t have to fight right after we land on this island.”

Colin took the chance to make his ‘graceful’ retreat. “Since you’re the one asking, I shall let this matter slide. I’ll kill them off otherwise.”

Jared looked at Colin, and he almost laughed out loud. Man, this guy is funny.

Sylvester wanted to smack Colin for saying that, but since Kristoff was taking Colin’s side, he couldn’t force the battle to continue. After all, he wasn’t powerful enough to fight two families at once. “Very well then. If that is what you wish, Mr. Shalvis.” With that, Sylvester left.

“Sylvester!” Sean called out to him, wondering why his brother wasn’t picking a bone with Jared.

“We’re leaving!” Sylvester glared at him.

Left with no choice, Sean could only leave, though someone had to come to his aid. Before he left, he shot Jared a nasty glare. “You can’t hide behind your women forever, Jared. Remember that.”

After the Coopers had taken their leave, Colin spat at them. “You think you’re all that, huh, a*sholes? You only got away because I snuck out and managed to bring only a limited number of fighters.”

Hearing that, Kenneth and Kristoff finally understood why Colin’s parents let him come to the island with only a few Senior Grandmasters as his bodyguard. So this guy snuck out. The Shadow Estate must be in chaos right now.

After Colin was done flinging his threats, he turned around and asked Renee, “Are you all right, lady?”

Renee looked at him and nodded.

“Well, now that all the unpleasantries are done for, let me introduce myself. I’m Colin.” Colin smiled at her and extended his hand.

Renee did not shake his hand. She simply answered “Renee” in a quiet tone before she went back to Jared.

“We should go now.” Jared and the ladies left. They only had three days, so they had no time to waste anymore.

Colin saw her off, and he started to smile dumbly. “Renee, huh? That’s a nice name,” he mumbled to himself.

Kristoff was surprised to see Colin looking like he was in love. “You can’t have fallen for her, can you, Colin?”

Colin nodded honestly. “Yes, I have.”

Kenneth was surprised as well. “Bruh, you’ve slept with countless women, and you’ve never fallen for any single one of them. But that girl caught your attention? She’s not even fully developed yet.”

Colin glared at Kenneth. “Don’t you insult my girlfriend, Kenneth! She’s my type.”

Kenneth wasn’t scared of Colin at all, and he roared with laughter. “You’re thinking too highly of yourself, mate. ‘Your girlfriend?’ She probably doesn’t even like you.”

Kristoff patted Colin’s shoulder. “We know you’re just joking. After all, you’re someone who never sees things through. I give you two days top before you start to lose your love for her.”

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 826

    Chapter 826 Mind Your Words

Sean coughed violently, spewing up more blood as he did so. Sylvester quickly sent a sliver of his martial energy into Sean’s body and kept his injuries under control.

“F*ck! I held back because you’re just a girl, but you went all out? I’m so going to kill you!” Sean was infuriated. A girl sent me flying with a single punch? That’s just humiliating!

Just when Sean was about to fight Renee again, Colin came to defend her. “You should mind your words, you b*stard! You’re a big man who just got beaten by a young lady! You’re weak, so just admit to it! Insult her again and I will tear your tongue out!” he roared darkly.

Sean was already livid, to begin with, and Colin’s insult stoked his rage. “Who the f*ck do you think you are? You’re just a puny Grandmaster! I can kill you with a single finger! What’s next, are you going to tell me that you’re from the Shadow Estate? Well, the joke’s on you cause I don’t even know what the f*ck kind of place is that! So buzz off!”

Sylvester didn’t expect Sean to insult Colin, and he frowned.

Colin felt murderous after receiving that kind of insult. He waved his hand down, and his lackeys came to back him up. The Coopers and the group from Shadow Estate were in a tense confrontation, and a battle was about to begin.

“Mr. Zare, my brother did not mean that. He was just being impulsive. I apologize on his behalf, but please do not stop us from taking our revenge,” Sylvester quickly apologized upon seeing that they were going to start an unnecessary battle.

“Apology? That’s some useless sh*t! Tell him to grovel before me and I might consider letting him off!” Colin refused the apology, and the retort made Sylvester’s face fall.

“Mr. Zare, I suggest that you step back from this. I know you and your men are powerful, but we from the Cooper family aren’t easy prey either.” Sylvester’s eyes glinted coldly.

Sylvester’s threat did not work on Colin, however. All it did was add fuel to Colin’s flame of anger. “The Coopers? What the f*ck kinda family is that? If you want a fight, then you’re getting a fight!” Colin waved his hand. “Take them down! Show them what we’re made of!”

Colin quickly retreated from the battlefield. When all was said and done, he was nothing but a Grandmaster. All his enemy had to do was release their aura, and he would be defeated in no time.

Since the battle was imminent, Sylvester ordered, “Take care of Sean.” Then, he released his aura, and the pressure of a Martial Arts Grandmaster spread across a hundred-meter radius, covering everyone who was within the area of effect.

Colin’s face fell when he felt the pressure Sylvester was generating. He had actually snuck out for the trip, so he didn’t bring too many powerful fighters with him. This guy is a Martial Arts Grandmaster? D*mn! This is going to be a problem.

If we’re serious about this fight, then I might actually be on the losing side. Cr*p. That’s going to be embarrassing. Doubly so, since it’s right in front of the lady I’m crushing for. Colin actually had a little crush on Renee after he saw her fight, or he wouldn’t have come to her defense.

He looked to Kenneth and Kristoff for help. After all, they had Martial Arts Grandmasters among their men.

Meanwhile, Colin’s men were doing all they could to fight Sylvester’s pressure, but the tides weren’t in their favor. When Kristoff saw the pleading look Colin was giving him, he gave one of his men a look.

The old man nodded, and his clothes billowed in the air, though there were no winds around, and then he released his aura.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 825

    Chapter 825 Who Is He

Colin was furious when he saw the man in black, but he said nothing, for he knew the man was not to be trifled with. Even though he had asked his supposed friends to protect him, he knew neither Kenneth nor Kristoff would come to his aid. They were just friends in name only.

Jared noticed the man as well, and his face fell, then a frown furrowed his brows. Sh*t. Everyone here is powerful. This mission is getting harder by the minute.

However, all the man in black did was glance at them before going the other way. Evidently, he had no plans of walking with Jared and the others.

Someone announced through the PA system, “We will return in three days to pick you all up. If you cannot make it, then you shall be left behind on the island.”

Godrick was still in his room on the highest point of the ferry, and he smirked at the passengers who disembarked. “Interesting. This group of passengers might spark something worth watching.”

“Sir, do you think the one we’re looking for might be among them?” Godrick’s lackey was looking at Jared and the others as well. He said, “The older ones are out of the question, and the rich trio can’t be him. Do you think it’s the man in black? He looks like he has something to hide.”

“There’s no need to guess. We’ll find out who he is in three days.” Godrick narrowed his eyes. “I can’t wait to meet my cousin. I wonder what he looks like.”

The sound of a horn blared from the ferry, and it left the pier. After the ferry had left, Sean led his men and surrounded Jared. This time, Sylvester didn’t stop him. Jared killed his brother, and Sylvester must avenge him.

Meanwhile, Jared remained as calm as a cucumber despite being surrounded. The ladies, however, were starting to get nervous, and they huddled around Jared.

“Hey, Jared. I bet you can’t do anything now that you don’t have anyone to protect you anymore, huh? We’re in a remote place, and you’re practically alone. Time to get my revenge.”

Sean hurled a punch at Jared. As a Senior Grandmaster, Sean’s punch alone was enough to create a small snowstorm, but that didn’t faze Jared at all. Instead, Jared snorted, “Now that’s one way to get yourself killed.”

Just when Jared was about to punch him back, Renee leaped ahead instead. “You’re not getting to Jared unless I say so!”

Renee closed in on Sean in a second, and that caught Sean by surprise. Since Colin wanted the ladies alive, Sean had to hold back. If he actually killed Renee, Colin might demand his head in return.

He reduced his strength by half, and the fighters finally collided. The collision produced a loud bang, and the shockwaves blew the snow around them up into the air, leaving nothing but the bare ground behind.

At the same time, Sean was sent flying backward from the impact. His insides were churning, and he coughed up blood from the injury he sustained.

“Sean!” Sylvester leaped up into the air and caught his brother, preventing him from crashing to the ground.

Everyone was dumbfounded to see Renee sending Sean flying with a single punch. Colin was excited, however, for he wasn’t scared of Renee’s overwhelming strength.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 824

Chapter 824 Do Not Fight With Me

After Jared and the ladies had disembarked, Kristoff and his men followed suit. Since Kristoff had taken his leave, Kenneth and Colin went with him as well.

The desire to disembark at this part of the island plummeted after the three young men took their leave. Although the crowd was worried about Jared and the ladies, they dared not take any action. After all, it was obvious that the men were after the ladies.

“What should we do now, Sylvester?” Sean asked Sylvester after he saw Jared disembark.

After some consideration, Sylvester gritted his teeth. “We’ll disembark as well.”

He had to avenge his brother, so they must follow Jared. He must kill Jared on the island if he wished to escape any punishment.

When Jared noticed the group of people following them, his face fell. The reason he chose to disembark at the snow-capped lands was that nobody else wanted to. Exploring alone would make it so much easier for Jared to claim the draconic essence.

If there were too many people around, it would make it hard for him to move around even if he had the map. He wouldn’t even take the map out in this case. If they knew he had the map of the island, they’d kill to get their hands on it.

Colin leered at Renee, and he was almost drooling. “Well, well, well, I didn’t think of you guys as a womanizer. But there are three of them, and there are three of us. This is perfect. We can have one each. I’m calling dibs on ponytail girl. She might still be developing, but she’s young. She’s mine, all right?”

Kenneth and Kristoff rolled their eyes. Is this guy here to flirt or hunt for treasure?

The reason Kristoff disembarked was that he wanted to get back at the ladies for embarrassing him back at the hotel. After all, pride was the most important thing for rich young lads like Kristoff.

Kenneth, however, wasn’t there for the women, nor did he have any dispute to settle. He only came because Kristoff did. He disliked Kristoff, and he wanted to compete with the guy at every possible chance.

Sylvester and the Coopers showed up at the same time as well. When Colin saw them, he frowned at Sylvester and Sean. “Hey, aren’t you guys too old for younger women? Man, you think you have what it takes to woo a young lady?”

Sylvester and Sean were in their forties and fifties. Naturally, Colin saw them as middle-aged men. Why are they even trying to woo a younger lady at this age?

Sean wanted to teach Colin a lesson for insulting him. How dare a Grandmaster brat talk to me like that?

However, Sylvester held his brother back and smiled at Colin. “You misunderstood us, Mr. Zare. We aren’t interested in those women. We have a beef to settle with Jared, and this is the perfect place to end things with him.”

Colin pointed at Jared. “Is that the guy you’re talking about?”

“Yes, that is correct.” Sylvester nodded.

“Fine. As long as you stay away from the ladies. There’s only enough for me and my friends,” Colin agreed.

Sylvester smiled silently. The Coopers might be powerful, but he didn’t want to cross the young men nonetheless. Besides, Sylvester came from a branch family, so if he really crossed the young men, he doubts his family would come to his defense.

Just as the Cooper siblings and their grunts were heading toward Jared, another passenger disembarked. It was none other than the man in black who injured Colin’s lackey back on the ferry.

Chapter 823 Do Not Get In My Way

“Sylvester! He killed Xander. Now that he’s right in front of us, why are you stopping me?” Sean couldn’t understand why Sylvester was stopping him from taking revenge. It was the perfect chance as well.

“Did you forget what the Deragons said? Starting a fight on this ship means you’re breaking the rules, but they can’t do anything once we disembark. Who knows, maybe the Deragons will kill him for us. After all, bringing pretty ladies around with him in a place like this is just asking for trouble.” Sylvester sneered at Jared.

This guy just embarrassed Godrick in front of everyone. The Deragons are famously arrogant. They will never leave this guy alive.

Sean finally calmed down after hearing that, and he scoffed at Jared. “Fine. I’ll let you live for now, but I will make you beg for your life once we get to the island.”

“F*ck off, mongrels. You’re in my way. If you don’t want to fight, then piss off.” Jared shrugged their threats off and shoved Sean away before he and the ladies went to their room.

Sean glared at Jared and spat, “You might think you can insult us now, but you’ll be paying for that.” Then he looked at Sylvester. “Who are the Deragons anyway? Are they really powerful? I’ve never heard of them before. And what about the Shadow Estate? And the Thunderstorm Sect. I’ve never heard about them either.”

Sylvester looked at his brother in displeasure. “You spend all your time partying, so of course, you know nothing about them. The Coopers would have fallen apart if it weren’t for Xander. And I’ll be staying in the ancestral land in the future. I can’t come back frequently, so it’s up to you now to support the family. You had better work for it,” he scolded.

Sean took a step back and stopped talking.

The trip went by quickly, and everyone finally saw Dragon Island. Even before they disembarked, they could feel a freezing gale blowing at them, sending a chill down their spines.

It was summer, so there was no need for thick clothes, or so they thought. To their surprise, Dragon Island was covered in snow, the total opposite of what summer was supposed to look like.

When Jared saw the snow-covered island, he commented, “I see. So the legends are true.”

The ferry docked at the pier, and Godrick announced through the PA system, “Passengers, the mountain you see before you is Mount Icedrake. You may disembark now if you wish to land here. We will go around the island in a while and disembark at the other pier. The choice is yours to make.”

The ferry’s spiral staircase descended, allowing the passengers to disembark. However, none of them left the ferry even after a while. Nobody wanted to land on an icy land. And since the whole place was covered in snow, there would be no herbs in a place like this, and all the martial artists came to the island to get their hands on the herbs and beasts, both of which the icy lands did not contain.

Since nobody was disembarking, the staff was about to pull the staircase back up, but then, Jared and the ladies appeared and went down the staircase, much to everyone’s surprise.

Seeing this, the crowd broke out into a heated discussion.

“Is this guy mad? Not to mention he’s taking the ladies with him? They might freeze to death here.”

“They don’t look like they’re here on a treasure hunt. More like they’re on a vacation. I mean, who in their right mind would take three women with them on a treasure hunt, right?”

“Ah, they won’t freeze to death. They can huddle together and work out to warm themselves up. Get my drift?”

“Dang, that kid’s one lucky b*stard to have three women at once.”

The passengers were envious of Jared for leaving with the ladies.
