“Well, please come in!” With that, Theodore gestured for them to enter the hall.

Steinar waved his hand and said, “Let’s go in!”

Upon hearing Steinar’s instruction, Kristoff and Wrea stopped provoking Jared and entered the Department of Justice.

“Dad, the Warriors Alliance won’t protect Jared after the banquet is over. Please take revenge on him for me afterward,” Kristoff whispered to Steinar.

“Shut up. Today is not the day to discuss this.” Steinar flashed Kristoff a warning glance.

Meanwhile, Theodore looked at Jared and advised him, “Mr. Chance, no matter who wants to look for trouble today, you have to be patient. Otherwise, you might leave a bad impression on Mr. Sanders, and all of our efforts will go down the drain.”

Jared nodded in response. “I get it.”

Soon, more guests from prominent families in the martial arts world arrived at the venue.

Knowing that it was immensely difficult to invite the prominent figures, Theodore couldn’t help but feel shocked.

“Mr. Chance…” Leviathan and Colin greeted Jared once they arrived.

Jared asked curiously, “What a surprise! Who invited you?”

Leviathan responded, “We’re here because the Warriors Alliance has informed us about the banquet. However, I have no idea who sent the invitation.”

Jared was lost for words; then, before he said, “Please go in!”

After Leviathan and Colin entered the hall, Theodore turned to Jared and said, “Mr. Chance, the banquet is going to be interesting. I think those from the martial arts world attend the banquet to flatter Mr. Sanders.”

Jared felt increasingly curious about Mr. Sanders upon listening to Theodore.

As more guests had arrived, Theodore anxiously glanced at his watch from time to time, for he couldn’t wait to see Mr. Sanders.

When a limousine stopped at the entrance, Theodore went up to it hastily to greet the guest.

However, after the door was opened, Theodore realized that the guest was Warren, the director of the Warriors Alliance.

Warren got down from the limousine but ignored Theodore’s presence. Instead, he courteously invited an elder in a white robe to get down.

The elder had a pair of lustrous eyes and exuded an imposing aura, even though he was aged.

Facing the elder, Jared and Theodore felt that the atmosphere became tense.

“President Zeigler, welcome!” As Theodore humbly greeted the elder, even his voice had slightly changed.

The elder nodded in response and soon fixated his gaze upon Jared.

“Is this Jared Chance, the one who killed Ichiro?” He then pointed at Jared and asked.

“Yes, he’s Jared!”

Theodore nodded and turned to Jared. “Jared, this is Zion Zeigler, president of the Warriors Alliance.”

“President Zeigler, it’s an honor to meet you.” Jared nodded and greeted Zion.

Zion murmured a response and entered the Department of Justice with Warren.

When Zion wanted to enter the hall, a car suddenly stopped at the entrance. The next moment, a man hopped out and greeted, “President Zeigler, what a coincidence.”

“Mr. Deragon, I didn’t expect that you’re also late.” Zion grinned as soon as he saw Ryker.

However, a faint murderous aura exuded from Jared’s body once Ryker came into his sight.

Perhaps because Ryker had sensed Jared’s murderous aura, he deliberately flashed Jared a smile.

It was their first time seeing each other up close.

Nevertheless, Ryker shifted his glance away from Jared a few seconds later. Then, he entered the Department of Justice with Zion while chatting with him.

“General Jackson, who is this Mr. Sanders that you mentioned just now?” Jared asked Theodore in the car.

Although Theodore was driving, he still glance around cautiously before whispering to Jared, “Mr. Chance, do you remember I used to tell you that there is a secret department in Jadeborough?”

“Yes, I do remember. You said it’s a government department tasked with limiting the power and influence of the martial arts world,” Jared nodded and replied.

“You’re right. Mr. Sanders is the officer who liaises with the outside world. Nonetheless, I’m not sure about his exact position in the department. Anyway, if Mr. Sanders can vouch for you, I believe the entire martial arts world of Jadeborough will not dare to lay a finger on you!”

Jared was a little ruffled upon listening to Theodore. Although Jared’s power had increased drastically and became the rising star among the young masters, he was merely a nobody compared to the entire martial arts world.

Early in the morning, Jared and Theodore dropped Anne and Andrew off at the airport.

“No problem. We can go now. I understand that the prominent families won’t be scared of the Department of Justice.”

Theodore understood Jared’s concern. It was why Theodore invited Warren, the director of the Warriors Alliance, to save Jared. Now that the tournament was over, he couldn’t be sure if the Warriors Alliance would continue to vouch for Jared.

“Mr. Chance, you’re always welcomed to my residence. I’ll never forget that you’ve rescued my son. Besides, we’re all grateful to you for representing the Department of Justice in the battle and killing Ichiro from Jetroina,” said Jermaine beaming with joy.

Then, Jermaine invited Jared to take a seat and made some tea for him. Jared couldn’t help but feel shy.

After making tea, Jermaine sat down and asked, “Mr. Chance, are you here to seek my help? Please tell me what you need. As long as I can fulfill it, I’ll lend a hand.”

Jermaine initially thought Theodore and Jared would be busy preparing for the banquet today. Now that they were in his residence instead, Jermaine knew that they needed something.

Nonetheless, Jermaine’s brief and straightforward remark stunned Jared.

Soon, their laughter echoed through the room. Jared couldn’t help but feel that it was the most relaxing moment of his life.

“How about sleeping here for tonight?” Jared proposed to Josephine and Lizbeth, whose faces had blushed.

“Dream on! How dare you want us to sleep with you before we’re married?”

After rolling her eyes at Jared, Josephine grabbed Lizbeth’s arm and left the room with her.

As they were leaving, Jared heaved a sigh, sat on the bed, and murmured, “I’ll hold a wedding with both of you after rescuing my mom.

Chapter 938 Indescribable Feeling

Lizbeth gazed at Josephine to gesture at her. After nodding in response, Josephine took out a dagger and struck it against her finger.

“What are you doing?” Jared jumped with fright and quickly stopped Josephine from hurting herself.

“You don’t believe me, do you? In that case, why don’t you try it to find out the truth?” Lizbeth responded.

The representative had a bad feeling, but at that moment, he was still clinging to a glimmer of hope.

Jared shifted his gaze to the representative, then grinned evilly. “Oh, him? He will never return.”

His words extinguished any shred of hope inside the representative’s heart.

“You idiot. How can you kill him?”

The representative’s gaze burned with immense fury.

Jared wasn’t scared at all. The murderous aura within him flared up. He took a step forward and got close to the representative before sharing the truth. “Oh, I have done so much more than killing your precious Ichiro. I also murdered every other person you sent to the island. If you wish to press charges, then, by all means, go ahead. Jared’s words stunned the representative immediately. The latter’s eyes still burned with rage, but he had no choice. He had to move aside to let Jared go.

Their people started the whole mess by breaking the rules first. Hence, they would just end up embarrassing themselves if they were to press any charges.

Jared and the others left after that. The representative oozed an evil aura as he glared at Jared’s back. At that moment, however, Jared was unaware of the sizeable issue he had made when he killed Ichiro.

Everyone was exhausted, so Theodore let them go to rest as soon as they returned to the Department of Justice. The celebration would have to wait until the next day.

As for Rayleigh and the others, Theodore knew better than to ask about them. They left the ship with Jared, and there was only one way that was possible. They must’ve already been on the island before we even got there.

Rayleigh frowned. “This is bad. If you can sense him, then that means he must’ve sensed your aura and blood’s origin, too. He must’ve learned who you are then, and I’m guessing, by now, the rest of the Deragons already know about you.”

Rayleigh had a worried expression on. Jared had become incredibly powerful, but he still wasn’t a match against the Deragons. If Ryker learned about the truth and sent his men to go after Jared…

Jared will have nothing to protect himself with.

“There is nothing to worry about. I’m sure everything will turn out fine.”

Unfortunately, the Department of Justice was simply too weak. Theodore might be the General of the Department of Justice, but he didn’t actually have much power. In fact, his title offered so little power that Jared’s enemy might even look down on him.

Hence, if Jared was to use the government officials’ support to survive, he would have to get to know some higher-ranking officers. In short, Theodore alone would not be enough. He might even have difficulty introducing Jared to the higher-ups.

Jared was still struggling when he suddenly thought of someone, Jermaine Cadden. When Jared first came to Jadeborough, he cured Jermaine’s son. They built a rapport, and that made it possible for Jared to ask for Jermaine’s help to introduce him to the higher-ups. Jared would then be in a position to temporarily obtain help from government officials to discourage his enemies from killing him.

“Mr. Deragon, now that you have given Josephine and Lizbeth all of your power, what will you do?” asked Jared.

“What else can I do? All that’s left is to find a quiet place to retire and spend the rest of my life in peace.”

Rayleigh looked into the distance. His gaze seemed tainted with exasperation, and it carried a hint of reluctance.

“Have you thought about where you want to go? What do you think about Horington? I own a house there, and I have many friends. If you move to the city, you will be able to lead a peaceful life, and I can fund your retirement…”

Rayleigh sacrificed his powers for Jared’s sake, so he actually felt extremely bad about it.

“That’s a pretty good idea. Okay, I will go to Horington and spend the rest of my life there.”

Rayleigh nodded. That delighted Jared because he worried that Rayleigh would refuse his offer.

Some time later, the boat reached its destination. Night hadn’t even fallen at the time, so the people waiting on the land were surprised.

No one thought that the boat would return that soon. The competition was supposed to stretch out for three days, and it’d be an incredible enough feat to make it back within that time frame. Yet, the ship had returned after one short day. No one knew what was going on.

Theodore and Anne ran ahead nervously. They wanted to figure out what had happened and why the boat returned that quickly.

They only sighed a breath of relief when they saw Jared and Andrew leaving the ship unharmed.

The people from Jetroina were waiting as well, but they never saw Ichiro or his men. Their expression instantly turned sour.

Chapter 934 Bitten To Death

The only thing that could be seen was the white wolf fighting the Heaven Devouring Beast endlessly. The latter was much bigger, but the former was more agile, allowing it to escape all attacks.

“Snowy, if you kill that big lug, I will reward you with this pearl.”

Josephine fished a shiny pearl out of her possession as she shouted at the white wolf.

The white wolf howled in excitement when it saw the shiny pearl. It jumped immediately after and mercilessly bit into the Heaven Devouring Beast’s neck, tearing a huge chunk of its meat out.

The Heaven Devouring Beast roared in pain. It kept swinging its claws trying to kill the white wolf with its slaps. Unfortunately, the white wolf’s physical form was like an eel. It circled around the Heaven Devouring Beast, making it impossible for the latter to land an attack.

The white wolf bid its time and eventually found the opportunity to attack once more. Its teeth dug into the Heaven Devouring Beast’s neck again, but this time, the white wolf held on. It refused to let go, no matter what.

The Heaven Devouring Beast rolled around on the ground. It wanted to break free of the white wolf’s hold, but all of its efforts were in vain.

A few minutes later, the enormous Heaven Devouring Beast fell. The white wolf had bitten it to death.

“H-How…?”

Ichiro’s jaw dropped, and he was stunned into place.

A white wolf killed the enormous Heaven Devouring Beast… It was simply too ridiculous.

“Great job, Snowy.”

Josephine tossed the pearl while smiling. The white wolf jumped and caught it in its mouth right away. After that, he ran to Jared and used its head to push Jared a little.

Jared couched down to caress the white wolf’s head. The animal reacted by dropping the pearl into his hand.

Jared stared at Josephine in astonishment. He didn’t know what the white wolf was doing.

“This is the Luminous Pearl for your competition, and Snowy wants to help you win.”

Jared didn’t know what was going on until Josephine explained everything to him. Ah, so this is the Luminous Pearl we have been looking for all this time.

He was so happy that he hugged the white wolf tightly. This white wolf is so smart, and it is the best companion there is.

Just then, Ichiro turned around to run.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

Andrew zipped over.

Jared scoffed when he noticed what was going on as well. He moved Ichiro in a blink of an eye.

The white wolf was right behind him, and to everyone’s surprise, it kept up with the guy despite the intense fight it just had.

At the time, Ichiro was staring fearfully at Jared. “What do you guys want? I-I admit defeat, okay? I’ll drop out of this competition.”

It was really ridiculous that Ichiro still acted as though they were in the arena. He admitted defeat as if that would save his life.

“It doesn’t matter if you admit defeat. I will still kill you,” announced Jared while having a stoic expression on.

“N-No. You can’t kill me. I am a member of the Watanabe family. You know about that family, so you must be aware of the consequences of killing me.”

Ichiro changed his tactic and threatened Jared upon realizing that the latter would not let him go.

“I don’t freaking care about any of that.”

After saying that, Jared reached out and grabbed Ichiro. He initiated the Focus Technique right away and absorbed Ichiro’s martial energy as quickly and as intensely as he could.

Ichiro began screaming in agony. His entire body trembled as his martial energy slipped out of him.

It only took a few minutes for Ichiro to turn into a dried-up corpse.

Andrew witnessed everything. He was going to say something about it, but he changed his mind later.

After killing Ichiro, Jared extracted the beast core from the Heaven Devouring Beast. Everyone started to travel back via the very same route they used earlier.

It wasn’t until they were on the road did Jared realize that Rayleigh had brought Josephine and the others to that island to help them cultivate. They remained hidden on the island until Ichiro snuck his men onto the island. They discovered those men’s plan to ambush Jared, so they changed their own plans and came out of hiding.

Rayleigh had already learned all about how Jared was participating in the tournament in the Department of Justice’s place. He was also aware of how the Warriors Alliance and the Deragon residence voiced up for Jared. It seemed that even though he had been on the island the entire time, he still paid attention to the news about Jared.

Chapter 933 Josephine Makes Her Appearance

Coming within his vision was a wolf with a snow-white fur fiercely biting the Heaven Devouring Beast.

“White wolf?” Jared could tell from one glance that it was that white wolf he had run into while at Dragon Island.

This white wolf was with Josephine back then. Why is it here right now? Could it be that Josephine and the others are on this island too?

Excited, he scanned his surroundings, and as expected, he saw Rayleigh walking over with Josephine and the rest.

Seeing that, Jared fluttered his hands around as if he had turned into a young child.

If not for the presence of the others, he would have long leaped toward Josephine and hugged her.

When the latter saw him, her eyes were shimmering with excitement.

Similarly, Lizbeth’s gazes were full of exhilaration as she looked at Jared from one side.

But he could not muster the courage to look at her in the eyes as he knew he would not be able to face those stares.

“Mr. Deragon, why are you guys here?” Jared asked in surprise.

Instead of giving him a reply, Rayleigh cast his glance at the fierce fight between the Jetroina samurais and the members of the Department of Justice some distance away. “You two should go over and test your capabilities…”

As soon as Rayleigh’s words fell, Josephine and Lizbeth smiled brightly and immediately disappeared within Jared’s line of vision.

Subsequently, two silhouettes appeared amongst the chaos on the battlefield, wiping out the samurais from Jetroina wherever they passed by.

“T-This…” Jared widened his eyes, unable to believe what he saw.

The weakest in capability among those samurais were Grandmasters. And not to forget, there are also several Senior Grandmasters. Even with Andrew’s help, we’ve fought till now. But the tide of the battle has instantly turned with Josephine And Lizbeth joining in. That’s outrageously absurd. I’ve only parted ways with Josephine for a month, so how can they make such good progress?

Catching sight of Jared’s expression, Melanie could not contain her laughter. “Jared, do you find it strange how Josephine and Lizbeth’s capabilities have improved so tremendously?”

He nodded. Indeed, he could not wrap his head around why they could progress so quickly in their cultivation compared to him.

“Let me share with you. It’s because Mr. Deragon has imparted all his capabilities to the two of them. Now, he’s merely a normal human being,” Melanie explained.

Hearing her words, Jared was overwhelmed with shock and stared at Rayleigh in disbelief. “Mr. Deragon, w-why did you do that?”

Rayleigh was, however, calm as he smiled faintly and clarified, “Jared, I held so much power in me, and yet I couldn’t help you at all because the Deragons will never let me off if I make an appearance. Now that I’ve taught Josephine and Lizbeth my skills, they’ll be able to help you. I’m sure you’ll be able to exterminate the Deragons and save Ms. Beatrice in time to come…”

Tears began to well up on the rims of Jared’s eyes. Draco had sacrificed himself for him, and now, Rayleigh had given up all his skills because of him. Jared did not know what he could do to repay their kindness.

In no time, all of the samurais from Jetroina were annihilated completely. Feeling jubilant, Josephine and Lizbeth returned from the battlefield.

Andrew and Shane also followed behind. They had puzzlement written on their faces, unsure what relationship Jared had with those people who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

“Captain Walsh, are there any injuries or casualties?” Jared asked at once when he saw Shane.

He had promised Theodore that he would bring all of the people of the Department of Justice back.

“Only ten of them are injured. No one got killed!” Shane reported.

Only upon hearing the answer did Jared heave a sigh of relief. Just as he was about to ask why Rayleigh was there with the others, his attention was distracted by the Heaven Devouring Beast’s thunderous roar.
