“Let’s go!”

After Skylar jumped into the pitch-black entrance, Jared quickly followed suit.

The next moment, all Jared could see was darkness, and his body was seemingly floating in space. Nonetheless, the environment brightened before he could feel the magnificence.

Jared nodded in response and hastily headed toward the cell.

After a while, Jared got emotional because he finally saw Josephine.

At that time, Josephine was lying on a bed in the cell with some basic facilities.

“Josephine…” Jared shouted emotionally.

Upon hearing Jared’s voice, Josephine quickly jumped out of bed.

As expected, Josephine was thrilled to see Jared.

“Jared, w-why are you here?”

Josephine walked closer to the cell door and held Jared’s hands tightly with the steel bars between them.

Meanwhile, Jared put his mind at ease after confirming that Josephine was in good condition and not tortured.

“Josephine, are you all right? Did they make things difficult for you?” Jared asked caringly.

Josephine shook her head and replied, “They treated me well. They didn’t do anything to me except extract a small bottle of blood from me every day.”

Then, Josephine asked Jared curiously, “By the way, how did you get in?”

“Someone brought me here. Rest assured that I’ll rescue you. Besides, I’ll make sure the Warriors Alliance pays the price…”

As Jared was speaking, a murderous aura slowly exuded from his body.

“Why are you releasing your aura here? Do you have a death wish?”

“Jared, be cautious when you’re outside, and don’t act impulsively. I’m doing well here.”

Josephine caringly reminded Jared, for she was worried he would act rashly and engage in a conflict with the Warriors Alliance.

Judging from Jared’s current strength and influence, he was no match for the Warriors Alliance.

“But I can’t stand by idly when you’re locked away. I have to find a way to rescue you!” Jared assured Josephine.

“All right. Time’s up. We have to leave now…”

With that, Skylar tossed the Necro Ring in the air, forming a pitch-black entrance.

“Jared, you have to keep calm. Don’t worry about me because I’m safe here!” Josephine gazed at Jared longingly.

Overwhelmed by guilt, Jared held on to Josephine’s hand for dear life.

“Dragon Island?” With disbelief written all over his face, Jared asked, “Why are we going there now? I mean, the timing is not right.”

It was well past the days when the two dragons emerged on Dragon Island. Moreover, Jared had eliminated Ice Dragon and extracted its draconic essence. As such, Jared couldn’t figure out why Skylar intended to head toward Dragon Island.

“Stop asking so many questions. Just tell me whether or not you agree to it!” Skylar asked as he stared at Jared.

“How can I trust you to not harm me once we arrive at Dragon Island? Considering your strength now, I won’t have any chance to escape…”

After all, Jared alone couldn’t fight three skilled fighters all at once, including a Top-Level Martial Arts Grandmaster, a Level Eight Martial Arts Grandmaster, and Baron of the Northwest, who was at least a Level Seven Martial Arts Grandmaster.

Just then, Skylar calmly took out a metal-like bracelet from his pocket. It had rusted and looked like something that Skylar had found in an ancient tomb.

After Skylar chanted for a while, he tossed the bracelet into the air. Suddenly, the bracelet expanded in the air and formed a pitch-black entrance.

Jared couldn’t believe his eyes. “What is that?”

“This is Necro Ring. Legend has it that it used to be a deity’s treasure. It can teleport you to anywhere you want to go. However, because it’s now damaged, it can only teleport you to any spot within a hundred meters!” Skylar explained.

“A hundred meters?”

Jared noticed the strange look in Skylar’s eyes and immediately put the painting away in the Storage Ring.

Skylar’s eyes burned with desire when he saw Jared’s Storage Ring.

Just then, the short man spoke, “Mr. Norton, aren’t you going to introduce us?”

It was only then that Skylar regained his composure. He turned to Jared and said, “Jared, this is Karl Gardner, Baron of the Northwest.

Karl embraced Jared before saying, “Jared, I have since heard about you in the northwest. Such a young man like you dares to defy the Warriors Alliance. You will definitely go far!”

“Just get straight to the point!” Jared told Skylar and ignored Karl.

He had never liked Skylar. After Howard’s warning, Jared was on guard against Skylar.

“Jared, I heard that your girlfriend has been taken away by someone. There has been no news of her whereabouts until now?” asked Skylar.

Jared nodded and did not find anything strange. After all, the Norton family was one of the largest families in Jadeborough, so it was not surprising for Skylar to know about this matter.

Skylar continued, “Jared, let me tell you something. Your girlfriend has been taken away by the Warriors Alliance. She’s being locked up in their dungeon.”

“I’m aware of these. If you are here only to tell me such things, you may leave now.”

Jared smiled lightly. “I have no choice either.”

“Go ahead and do what you need to do. You’ll have my full support. The Warriors Alliance cannot continue to lord over everybody. Someone has to stand up to them!”

Howard patted Jared on his shoulders.

Jared smiled and said, “Howard, did you come all the way just to flatter me?”

“Hahaha! If I want to flatter you, there’s no need for me to come here all the way. I can easily pay for a group of people to do that on the martial arts forum. That will be even better. I have come to look for you regarding an important matter.”

As Howard was saying that, he scanned his eyes around the surrounding.

Jared was getting very curious. He wondered what Howard wanted to tell him given his secretive demeanor.

“Jared, do you still remember Skylar?” asked Howard.

Jared nodded. “Of course!”

Skylar had threatened Jared before. There was no way Jared could have forgotten about him.

“Be careful of that fellow. I heard he has been eyeing your magical item,” whispered Howard.

“Haha! If he’s capable, then let him come. I’m not even afraid of the Warriors Alliance. Why will I be scared of Skylar?”

The news did not affect Jared too much. As the president of the Warriors Alliance, Zion had asked Jared personally for the Thousand of Miles Away, but Jared had refused to give it to him. Why will I be afraid of Skylar?

“Be careful of a dangerous scoundrel like Skylar. The Norton family is almost as powerful as the Warriors Alliance. You better watch your back!” Howard reminded him.

“Sure. Howard, thank you for the tipoff!” said Jared with much gratitude.

Once Howard left, Jared took out the Thousand of Miles Away and began to get ready for his seclusion.

Just as Jared was ready, someone called out for him again.

“General Jackson, is there a problem?” Jared asked Theodore as he walked out of his room.

“Mr. Chance, there is someone else here to look for you again!” said Theodore.

“Who is it?”

Jared was befuddled. What is it with today? People keep coming and looking for me. I can’t even go into seclusion and cultivate.

“It’s Skylar from the Norton family.”

The moment those words came out from Theodore, they saw Skylar walking in with his men.

As usual, there was a frail-looking elderly following behind Skylar. However, this time around, there was also a short and clever man with him as well.

“Jared, how have you been?”

Skylar was full of smiles and sounded friendly.

However, Jared was aware that a smiling tiger like him was the most dangerous of all.

Jared was confident about winning Edgar. Edgar isn’t my opponent if nothing out of the ordinary happens.

“What are you planning to do, Mr. Chance? It can be brutal in the arena. Should I ask Mr. Sanders to mediate? You merely gave Edgar a round of beatings. I’m sure the Deragons will look the other way if Mr. Sanders talks to them.”

Theodore didn’t want Jared battling in the arena because it was obviously a calculated move by the Deragons.

Seeing the vial of red blood, Zion turned to the outside and shouted, “Prepare the car, we’re going to the Deragon residence.”

Meanwhile, Edgar was raging back in the Deragon residence.

Edgar was hesitant.

Edgar was stunned as he reached for the vial. After studying it briefly, he asked curiously, “President Zeigler, what’s in the vial?”

Edgar couldn’t discern it at a glimpse, but Ryker could.

“President Zeigler, is that human blood?” Ryker asked with puzzlement.

“You’re right. There’s human blood inside.”

Zion nodded with agreement.

Hearing it was human blood, Edgar immediately set the vial on the desk and turned to Zion with a perplexed look. “President Zeigler, why did you give me this?”

“I want you to consume it, of course. If you notice you’re losing against Jared in the arena, you can take this, and your abilities will be amplified rapidly, without any side effects,” Zion explained.

Learning that he was to drink human blood, Edgar fervently shook his head in shock. “President Zeigler, I can’t do that. I’m not a practitioner of Demonic Cultivation, so how can I drink human blood under the public’s scrutiny? How will they regard me and the Deragon family after that?”

Ryker agreed with Edgar’s refusal. “President Zeigler, I have heard that consuming human blood can elevate the consumer’s abilities, but Edgar doesn’t practice Demonic Cultivation, so it’s pointless even if he does take it.”

Right when Zion was about to reach for the vial, Ryker beat him to it and snatched the vial. “How can we not appreciate President Zeigler’s good intention?”

A smile returned to Zion’s face at Ryker’s words. “When will be the challenge date?”

“How about three days later?” Ryker asked for Zion’s opinion.

“Perfect. Be sure to teach Jared a hard lesson,” Zion answered with a nod.

“No, three days is too short.”

Suddenly, an objection yelled from outside, and soon, an elderly man dressed in a robe hurried inside.

Chapter 1026 A Press Conference

“These b*stards have the audacity to think they are above the law. How dare they abduct a person. I will report this to Mr. Sanders and ask him to go to Warriors Alliance to demand her release.”

Theodore was furious upon hearing what Jared said. He wanted to find Mr. Sanders and asked for his help.

However, Jared stopped Theodore. “General Jackson, it would be useless even if Mr. Sanders goes there. We have no evidence, so the Warrior Alliance will keep on denying it.”

It was made by Edgar from the Deragon family, challenging Jared to a battle. He sought to avenge the indignity done to the ancient tomb.

Edgar even wrote in the forum that Jared must appear for the duel in person or be deemed a coward.

“Mr. Chance, why would Edgar suddenly challenge you to a duel?” Theodore asked bewilderedly.

Logically speaking, Edgar was above Jared in both authority and family background. Thus, it was strange that Edgar suddenly challenged Jared to a duel. “Don’t worry. Those b*stards from the Warriors Alliance will not kill Josephine because killing her will not benefit them. I believe they captured Josephine due to her fiery constituent!” Jared comforted Lizbeth.

“Stop acting dumb. You abducted my girlfriend. I will make you regret it if you don’t release her now!” Jared narrowed his gaze, and a menacing aura rose from his entire being.

Looking at Jared, Warren burst out in laughter and said, “Don’t be so arrogant. You think you can take me down with your ability?”

Warren did not fear Jared’s threat at all. He believed that Jared was no match against his Top Level Martial Arts Grandmaster abilities.

“Let her go now!” Jared yelled and erupted a golden light from his body. At the same time, he covered his body with scales.

“Mr. Zare, where is Jared?” Lizbeth asked Leviathan urgently after arriving at Shadow Estate.

“Ms. Grange, calm down. What’s wrong?” Leviathan saw Lizbeth trying to catch her breath and rushed to pour her a glass of water.

Lizbeth drank a mouthful of water and continued urgently, “It’s Josephine. Someone abducted her!”

“What?” Leviathan was dumbfounded and led Lizbeth as they rushed into the inner courtyard. He pointed to a room and said, “Mr. Chance is in here!”
