Chapter 1242 I Can Guarantee Your Safety

Remembering that the man was there to offer help, Cecilia put away the disgust on her face and forced a smile. “What brings you to Crimson Palace?” she asked.

“You’re as beautiful as the rumors have it, Lady Jingle,” the young man replied with his gaze still locked on Cecilia.

“I’m Angelo Calderon, and I came in response to the announcement you put up, Lady Jingle,” he replied, wiping his watering mouth.

Cecilia’s eyes darkened when she saw his rakish behavior, but she reminded herself to maintain her smile for the sake of soliciting his help.

“Since you came to aid us, I’m sure you’re prepared to face our enemy,” she said.

Cecilia doubted Angelo’s ability to contest Peyton, for one must be formidable to withstand that man and Divine Beast Sect’s power. No ordinary man would dare to challenge Peyton.

“I know what I signed up for. That pervert is nothing. He’ll go on his knees once he sees me. I’m sure he won’t dare set foot at Crimson Palace as long as I’m here,” the man stated confidently as he looked at Cecilia.

“By the way, I hope you live up to your promise once this is over, Lady Jingle,” he added.

Cecilia blushed and bit her lip. “I will deliver my end of the promise as long as you’re able to save Crimson Palace!” she assured.

“Ha! Good. I warrant that nothing will befall Crimson Palace!” Angelo exclaimed, eyeing her lecherously before breaking into a hearty chortle.

“Mr. Calderon, you’d better remember that Divine Beast Sect is behind Peyton. You have to—”

“You don’t have to worry about anything. Even Divine Beast Sect will have to take me seriously once they know who my father is,” Angelo interrupted as he waved his hand dismissively.

Cecilia paused. Is he from a prominent family? If he is, his family has got to be really influential.

“May I know who your father is?” Cecilia inquired, wanting to know who this man was that Angelo claimed to be superior to Divine Beast Sect.

“You don’t have to know that, Lady Jingle. You just need to know that I can protect Crimson Palace.”

Since the man refused to answer her question, Cecilia decided to just let it slide.

“Fine. Come in, then,” Cecilia invited, bending her body slightly to beckon the man in.

Angelo was even more excited when he saw Cecilia’s bare skin around the chest.

He walked toward her, wanting to hold her hand, but Cecilia dodged his hand agilely.

“Lady Jingle,” he called, taken aback, “are you regretting your promise now? You said you would sleep with anyone who saves Crimson Palace.”

His crude remarks made Cecilia flush.

“Yes, Mr. Calderon. I did make a promise, but it is still not the time to fulfill my promise yet. Peyton is still not here. I will marry you once you fight him off,” Cecilia replied, feeling uncomfortable.

“Well, then, I hope he comes soon!” Angelo said in disappointment as he walked into the palace, but his face changed when he beheld the sight of the palace.

His lustful gaze swept greedily across every corner of the palace seeing all the women in Crimson Palace, and his behavior disgusted Cecilia.

“Lady Jingle, you know, you can send me any of these women if you can’t keep me company tonight. I’ve heard that all the disciples here are pretty,” he babbled.

Cecilia was enraged by his vulgarity but forced her emotion back and said, “Don’t worry, Mr. Calderon. We will reward you generously when you get rid of Peyton. We will give you anything you want then.”

    Chapter 1241 Marriage

“Lady Jingle, we might have offered very good terms, but Peyton is known for his ruthlessness, so no one dares to stand against him. Besides, he has Divine Beast Sect on his back, so no one dares to challenge him,” another elder explained.

“I don’t believe no one will stand up for us if I use myself as the reward,” Cecilia snapped, the frown on her brows deepening.

The elders lowered their heads in silence.

“Change the terms on the announcement. I will marry anyone who takes down Peyton,” Cecilia remarked, clenching her jaw.

“Lady Jingle! This cannot be! You can’t be the head of the clan anymore if you marry! This is our tradition!” an elder quickly advised.

“Millie can take over. There’s no other way. I can’t just let everyone in Crimson Palace die in Peyton’s hands! That man is a beast! He has eyed Crimson Palace for years. Now that he is the godson of Divine Beast Sect, he’s doing as he wishes. We all know how many women he has killed. None of them came out in one piece! I’m willing to sacrifice myself for the whole Crimson Palace!” the lady said tragically.

The elders could not say otherwise because they knew that was their only way out in the face of Peyton, an enemy with the ability equivalent to a Semi Martial Arts Marquis.

Cecilia was an Eighth Level Martial Arts Grandmaster, so she was no match for Peyton.

Moreover, that man had got the support of Divine Beast Sect.

Their prospects were grim because, at that rate, they were not even sure if anyone would take up the charge, even when Cecilia had put herself up as a reward.

Two days went by without any news.

No one came forward, although Cecilia had promised to marry anyone who would face Peyton. Divine Beast Sect was the strongest in the South, and no one had the gut to provoke them.

As for martial artists from other places, there was no good reason for them to antagonize Divine Beast Sect. After all, no one would be able to win without home advantage.

“Remember my orders. All of you must do everything you can to send Millie away unscathed with the identity token. Crimson Palace will live on as long as she lives. As for the other disciples, tell them to preserve their integrity till death, for we know death is better than ending up in his brutal claws. We will not let Peyton have his way,” Cecilia reminded the elders solemnly that day.

Everyone was solemn and grieved as the finality of their fate registered.

Because Crimson Palace was run solely by women, they had always done things in a low-profile manner for fear of unwanted trouble, yet in the end, they still could not defend themselves from a savage and perverted man.

Suddenly, a disciple rushed in while Cecilia was talking to the elders.

“Lady Jingle, someone’s at the door. He claims to be able to help Crimson Palace.”

“I’ll go now,” Cecilia exclaimed, rushing to the entrance.

    Finally.

To Cecilia, this was the last chance of survival for her people, although it meant that she would have to marry herself off.

All she could pray for was that the man who came forth was someone she found attractive instead of an old and frail man.

When she came to the gate, she saw a man with a navy blue top and a pair of sunglasses.

Cecilia heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that it was a young man.

Upon seeing Cecilia at the gate, the man took down his sunglasses, and his jaw dropped.

His reaction elicited a change in color on Cecilia’s face. Her impression of him dropped instantly.

Chapter 1240 A Pure Spiritual Energy

After Cecilia left, Jared exited the room and explored the ancient palace. He had decided to check that place out before leaving.

He strolled around aimlessly and eventually came to the back of the palace, where there was a mountain of rocks. At the foot of it was a crystal-clear stream that flowed into a mid-size lake with abundant spiritual energy.

Ah! I guess that’s why Crimson Palace feels like it has a lot of spiritual energy.

“It’s rare to see streams that carry spiritual energy, though,” he remarked, bending down to scoop some water from the lake to drink.

A taste of the refreshing and sweet water made Jared feel rejuvenated.

“Nice, although it’s still weird to see streams with spiritual water.”

Jared examined the water and trailed its source up the mountain.

After some time, he finally found the end of the stream in a cave in the middle of the mountain.

A mild wind blew from within when he stood at the cave entrance. It carried rich spiritual energy, and Jared felt energized when he smelled it.

He looked into the pitch-dark hole and gestured some hand seals to summon a ball of spiritual fire to light up the place.

Once he could see a visible path, Jared walked in, going all the way down the hole until he eventually came to its end, where a massive stone blocked his advance.

When Jared looked closer, he realized the stream water was flowing out from the gap underneath the rock.

This means there’s still a path behind this rock!

Golden lights circled Jared’s fists as he looked at the boulder.

He punched hard at the rock, but nothing happened.

Not a single crack was seen on the exterior.

“What’s going on?” he murmured with a frown.

Given my ability, I should be able to shatter a hill, but this rock is completely intact after my blow.

Jared tried again, but the boulder remained unscarred even after dozens of attempts.

On the other hand, the surrounding cave was shedding pieces of rocks as if it was about to tumble.

I’d better stop before the cave falls on me.

Jared looked around the cave and was not amused. There’s nothing special about this place, but why do I feel a strong sense of spiritual energy?

Since he was confident that there was spiritual energy, he sat down cross-legged in the cave and utilized his Focus Technique to imbibe the spiritual energy in that place.

His eyes shone in glimmers when he sensed that the spiritual energy he was taking in was different from those he absorbed in the past.

The spiritual energies from Pentacarna Tower and Thousands of Miles Away—let alone those from talismans and medicinal herbs—were no match for the one he was absorbing. That spiritual energy was pure.

It was the pristine product of nature, and it was invigorating.

Jared was delighted. Perhaps I can break through the Nascent Soul phase with this pure spiritual energy and reach the Martial Arts Marquis rank soon.

With this realization, Jared quickly shut his eyes and started cultivating.

He had completely forgotten that Cecilia had asked him to leave Crimson Palace after two days.

Meanwhile, Cecilia was in the hall meeting several elders who were dressed in white.

All of them looked distressed, especially Cecilia.

“Lady Jingle, we only have three more days until the deadline Peyton gave. If no one is here to deliver us, Crimson Palace can only fight to our death,” one of the elders uttered.

“Has there been any response to the announcement after we put it up the other day?” Cecilia asked.

The elders looked at each other and shook their heads.

    Chapter 1239 An Announcement

“Who’s there?” a chilly voice came from within.

“It’s me, Millie!” the girl cried out.

“What are you doing here? Didn’t I say you must stand guard at the entrance as a punishment?” the woman inside reprimanded angrily.

“Cecilia, come and see who’s here. I’m sure you’ll be happy to see this person!” Millie replied in excitement.

“I’m not buying any of your tricks. Three days. You’ll have to stand guard there for three days.”

“Come on, Cecilia. You’ll thank me for bringing this person here,” Millie implored.

    “Fine!”

When she got her sister’s approval, Millie pushed the door opened and went in with Jared.

Upon entry, Jared saw a woman wearing red behind the table. Her features were exquisite, and her skin was fair, yet her cold expression suggested she was worried and sorrowful.

The woman froze when she saw Jared.

“Jared, this is my elder sister, Cecilia Jingle. You can call her Lia. She’s the leader of Crimson Palace. We call her Lady Jingle,” Millie introduced.

“Lady Jingle,” Jared greeted courteously. “I was walking around when I accidentally came across Crimson Palace. I hope you don’t mind.”

Cecilia was still recovering from the shock, with her eyes glued to Jared.

    “Cecilia! Jared’s talking to you!”

It was not until Millie had called her again that Cecilia finally snapped back.

“Hi, Mr. Chance. It’s good to see you. Have a seat,” Cecilia said, getting up from her seat.

When Jared was seated, she ordered the servants to bring some drinks.

“Millie, you should be on duty,” Cecilia reminded her sister once coffee was served.

“Cecilia…” the girl pleaded, looking at Jared.

It was apparent that she wanted to stay longer.

“This is an order,” the elder sister insisted with a severe expression.

The girl shot up immediately and hurried to the door, but before she closed the door behind her, she stole one last look at Jared again.

With her gone, Jared was left alone with Cecilia in the room.

“Mr. Chance, are you here because of the announcement?” Cecilia asked casually after taking a sip of coffee.

“Announcement? What announcement?” Jared was clueless.

“Is there a misunderstanding, Lady Jingle? I really stumbled upon this place by accident.”

Jared had no idea what announcement Cecilia was referring to, and when Cecilia saw his reaction, she believed him and smiled.

“Well, never mind. Since you ended up here by chance, I guess it’s meant to be. We should give you a warm welcome, but unfortunately, something’s up in Crimson Palace, so I’m afraid we might not be able to host you for long. You will have to leave after two days.”

Jared was appalled when he heard that for he did not know what he had done to offend Cecilia.

According to Millie, Cecilia was an avid fan of his, and she even kept photos of Jared, but what he just heard only showed that Cecilia was not altogether pleased to see him.

“Lady Jingle, it was not my intention to intrude. I’ll just leave if I’m not welcomed,” Jared replied.

After all, he did not mean to stay here for long.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Chance,” Cecilia answered.

“Oh, don’t worry about it. It’s my fault,” Jared blurted when he realized he might have sounded mean.

“Lady Jingle, the elders are here,” someone informed after coming in.

“Please excuse me, Mr. Chance. I have to go,” Cecilia said apologetically. “Feel free to go around the palace. I already gave my orders to let you have free access to the palace.”

    “Thank you, Lady Jingle.”

Chapter 1238 The Kingdom Of Women

The girl looked like she was in her teens, yet she had already reached a Senior Grandmaster level and was highly talented.

“Are you Jared Chance?” she asked.

Jared was taken aback, but he quickly answered, “Y-Yes. How do you know me?”

I’ve never been to this place. It’s so far away from Horington. I’m sure I’ve never seen this girl before, either.

“I knew it! I was just thinking you look just like him.”

Speaking, she ran over happily and looked at him with admiration in her eyes. “I saw you at the martial arts forum where you defeated Edgar and killed Warren, the director of the Warriors Alliance in Jadeborough. I know you destroyed a few sects and families in Jadeborough a few days ago and even challenged the Norton family. I think what you did was awesome. I actually wanted to go look for you in Jadeborough, but my sister said no, so…” the girl answered chirpily, trying her best to be polite toward Jared.

Jared was shocked that the news of him undoing the Norton family and those affiliated with them had spread far and wide.

I can only say I’m famous in the martial arts world, but this is not necessarily a good thing.

    “Well…”

Jared was at a loss for words, for that was the first time he felt someone adored him as a role model.

Looking at the enthusiastic girl, he felt fortunate that she did not make the trip to Jadeborough in the end. He could not imagine him indirectly causing her any harm if she encountered danger on her way there.

“Come. Follow me. I’ll bring you to my sister. She’ll be over the moon to see you,” the girl said as she went pulled Jared into the palace.

“By the way, I’m Millie Jingle. My sister likes you a lot. She checks out news about you on the forum, and she even keeps your photos. She thinks I don’t know about it, but I do!”

Jared let the girl drag him along as they passed through the palace.

Along the way, he saw many women dressed in purple, and they all looked at Millie reverently as she ushered Jared in. Among them, Jared also spotted a few women in white who waded through the crowd.

Wait. Don’t tell me I’m in the Kingdom of Women. Is that why they’re looking at me like this and whispering among themselves?

Jared lowered his head uneasily at their stare and locked his gaze on the ground as he followed behind the girl.

“Millie, are there only women in Crimson Palace?” he asked curiously.

“Yes. The elders only allowed us to take in female disciples. Besides, they must be virgins,” Millie answered candidly without shying away.

Then, the girl introduced places in Crimson Palace and told Jared about its history.

Her hospitality made Jared feel welcomed and at home.

I can’t believe this place only has women. I bet many men must’ve tried to get into this place. That’s probably why they used an illusion spell to hide this place. It’ll save them the hassle of having to deal with uninvited guests.

Jared followed Millie around until they came to a building that looked like a palace.

The guards did not stop them when Millie brought Jared in.

Once they entered, Millie went to one of the rooms and knocked.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1237

    Chapter 1237 Crimson Palace

After venturing ahead for some distance, the surrounding suddenly darkened significantly when the sunlight was blocked off by a patch of towering and lush trees.

“Why are the trees here especially tall? It’s the same piece of land,” Jared mumbled in curiosity.

The soil is the same, so the condition of the trees shouldn’t change so drastically all of a sudden.

Realizing this, Jared released a spiritual sense to survey the aura of the surrounding.

Soon, he realized that there was a vast stone somewhere in front. It had a height of more than ten meters, and there was a two-meter-high cave in the middle of that stone.

“What is this thing? Don’t tell me the stone is emptied out.”

Jared frowned and hastened his steps toward the rock.

When he reached, he realized the ground was bare due to human activities.

More importantly, this place oozed a relatively dense spiritual energy.

“There must be something about this rock.”

Jared gazed at the boulder only to realize it housed a usual and shallow cave. In fact, it was so shallow he could see the other end right from where he was.

There’s nothing special about this cave, but having a boulder in the middle of a dense forest is unnatural. I should probably check out this rock.

So, Jared decided to try again by closing his eyes slightly before releasing his spiritual sense in the direction of the rock. Just as he did so, his spiritual sense was deflected by a powerful force coming from the rock.

“Someone used magecraft on this rock,” he noted, puzzled.

Jared opened his eyes again and beheld that cave opening. Then, he climbed in without a second thought.

To his surprise, the view was completely different once he got in.

There was a stretch of stone houses surrounded by a wall.

A gate tower stood erected at the front with the words—Crimson Palace inscribed in strikingly red color.

What? Did someone use an illusion spell to hide this whole place?

No regular person could see Crimson Palace in that cave. One would enter Crimson Palace by stepping into the cave, and going through the cave enabled one to break the illusion spell to see Crimson Palace.

“This clan is pretty interesting. Their leader must be powerful to be able to cast this illusion spell.”

With that thought in mind, Jared went toward the entrance of the palace.

This is a suitable place for cultivation since it is filled with spiritual energy. The elders of this clan are really wise to pick a place like this.

Just as Jared reached the entrance, two women dressed in purple stopped him.

“Who are you, and what business do you have at the Crimson Palace?” one of them interrogated loudly with her face gloomed.

Jared could sense that her aura was hostile, so he quickly explained himself.

“Please forgive me. I don’t mean to intrude. I happened to be exploring this area, and I came across this cave.”

“If you really ended up here by accident, then leave while you can before we take action against you,” they said with their deterrent aura blocking Jared off.

Jared smiled. To him, there was no way these two Senior Grandmaster-level women could stop him. They were not powerful enough to harm Jared even if he did nothing to retaliate. Yet, since he had no intention of starting a fight and was at fault for trespassing on others’ territory, he decided to take their warning and leave.

“Now, there’s no need for that. I’ll leave…” Jared said, turning away, but before he could take another step, a girl in blue jumped down in front of him from the stone wall.

    “Hold on,” she called out.

Jared looked at her in surprise. “Yes?”

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1236

    Chapter 1236 Westward

Skylar instantly understood what was happening. This spiritual sense must be terrifyingly powerful to have a consciousness of its own.

“I’ll do anything to kill that man…” Skylar promised, hatred glistening in his eyes.

He was willing to do anything to vanquish his enemy.

“Ha! Don’t you worry about that,” the shadow assured with a scoff.

Suddenly, a ray of white light flashed across the room, and Skylar felt something enter his mind.

Then, the same hoarse and old voice echoed in his mind. “You’re pretty strong. You’ll be able to kill Jared under my guidance, but I’ll have to heal you first.”

Soon enough, a white mist evaporated from Skylar’s body and engulfed him.

An hour later, the white mist was wholly gone, carrying away all the wounds on Skylar’s body.

It was as if his body did not suffer any injury to begin with.

Skylar was thrilled to see that he had recovered completely, but when he got up to check his body, he stumbled and almost fell the moment he got on his feet.

The man looked down at his leg, only to realize it was crooked, and that caused him to limp.

“Your tendon’s gone, so this is the best I can do. I’m afraid you can’t walk like normal again,” the voice said.

“Does that mean I’ll limp for the rest of my life?” Skylar snapped, frowning.

“Yes. This is already the best you can get,” the voice said from within his head.

Skylar gritted his teeth in fury and gripped his fists. “Jared Chance… I will make your life a living hell!”

Meanwhile, Jared left for Medicine God Sect after Mr. Sanders had ordered that he leave Jadeborough. Since Mr. Sanders had spoken, there was no way Jared could stay, so he decided to go to Medicine God Sect to settle some critical matters and visit Rayleigh and Lizbeth.

Village of Villains was undergoing reconstruction and required a lot of medicine and pills from the Medicine God Sect, so Jared went to discuss the details with Axton.

After dropping by the Medicine God Sect, Jared went to Village of Villains. When he arrived, the Villainous Four was still healing in the Pentacarna Tower, so Jared just talked to Leviathan for a bit and informed him that he would be away for some time.

Although Leviathan did not know the reason for Jared’s sudden departure, he did not probe into the matter.

After leaving the village, Jared went to the Southwest Region. Harnessing his spiritual energy, he could still travel fast, although he went on foot instead of taking a car or flight.

Since Jared did not bring Pentacarna Tower with him then, he could only cultivate using the spiritual energy of the universe or any places enriched with spiritual energy.

He did not bring the tower with him because The Villainous Four needed it for their recovery. Moreover, Jared figured he should use that as an opportunity to train on his own since he had indeed improved his cultivation speed after employing Pentacarna Tower and Thousands of Miles Away.

Yet, despite his improvement, he still felt his ability was not polished enough. He knew he could not simply rely on magical items if he wanted to break through the Nascent Soul phase.

An opportunity was what he needed for a breakthrough, so Jared decided to hone his skills until he eventually came across a suitable opportunity.

He enjoyed nature along his way to Horington, where he rested for a day and visited his parents, William, Walter, and Tommy, before continuing his journey to the Southwest Region.

Soon enough, he arrived at a place called Wildefield, which was close to the border of the Southwest Region.

The scenic place was rich with dense and lush jungles, mountain streams, and rivers.

By that time, the weather in the North was already uncomfortably frigid, yet Wildefield was warm and cozy. So instead of going to the bustling city, Jared chose to continue his journey with the jungle route.

I might be able to come across something interesting in the thick woods. Perhaps I might even run into some sect here.

Sprinkles of sunshine seeped through the leaves and branches, falling on him as he chartered through the jungle.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1235

Chapter 1235 Residing In Your Body

“I must have revenge…” Jared said faintly after having calmed down.

    “Revenge?” Mr. Sanders asked.

With a light wave, Mr. Sanders threw the defenseless man off before continuing, “Listen. The martial arts world has its rules, and I decide how things are run in Jadeborough’s martial arts world. If you want to break the rules and disobey me, you’ll need to show me you’ve got what it takes to do that. If you can’t, you should keep your mouth shut and do as I say. I want you to leave Jadeborough right now. You’d better run as far as possible because if I ever see you making a mess here again, I’ll send you to hell.”

Although Mr. Sanders spoke in a mild voice, his words sounded shockingly hostile to Jared.

Jared kept quiet and glanced at the dying Skylar, his hand subtly trembling as he held on to the Dragonslayer Sword.

He wished he could just finish off that man with his weapon, yet he knew that with Mr. Sanders in their presence, there was not even the slightest chance of him attacking Skylar.

Skylar is already paralyzed. Even if he makes it out alive, he’ll live in pain for the rest of his life. This pain might be the best revenge I can exact.

With that thought, Jared kept his sword and glimpsed at Howard silently before he leaped into the darkness.

“Get lost, all of you,” Mr. Sanders said to Lachlan and the rest.

The man shuddered in fear at the order and quickly got his family to leave.

“Why did you save Skylar, Mr. Sanders? Why did you ask Mr. Chance to leave Jadeborough?” Theodore asked as he approached the official.

“It’s not him whom I’m saving but Jared,” Mr. Sanders answered, eyeing the man on his last legs. “Jared will die if he stays in Jadeborough.”

Theodore was astonished. Does Mr. Sanders know something? Maybe I shouldn’t ask. I’m not in a position to ask anyway.

After Mr. Sanders left, the remaining Nortons quickly came and carried Skylar into a room for treatment.

To their dismay, Skylar was so severely injured that he would have to remain wheelchair-bound for his whole life, even if they could still save his life.

As a young man and the only heir of a martial arts family, being handicapped was no better than being dead.

Since the servants did not know what to do with Skylar, they could only wait for David’s orders once he returned.

Back in the room, Skylar was left all alone to fight the pain that had driven him close to unconsciousness several times.

Although he could not move a muscle, his eyes still blazed with anger as he recalled what Jared had done to him.

“Jared Chance! I swear I’m not human if I don’t kill you!” Skylar seethed in difficulty.

“Do you want to kill Jared?” a croaky voice sounded from a distance all of a sudden.

    “Who is it?”

Skylar whipped his head toward the voice, only to see a figure slowly appearing out of thin air in the room.

The injured man opened his eyes wider to get a clearer view of the man, but the person still seemed blurry to him no matter how he tried.

It was as if it had no bodily form but was only a shadow.

But how can a shadow speak?

“You don’t have to know who I am. I can heal your body and even help you kill Jared,” the voice continued.

“What do you want from me?”

Although Skylar was fatally injured, he was still clear-headed enough to know that there was no free lunch in the world.

Since help was offered, it could only mean that he was expected to return the favor.

“Turns out I made the right choice coming to you. You’re a smart one,” the shadow noted before pausing and smiling. “I want your body.”

    “My body?”

Skylar was stunned. What he just heard made no sense to him.

“I’m just a spiritual sense now, so I need to reside in someone’s body. In this case, your body is what I need,” the shadow explained.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1234

    Chapter 1234 Severed Tendons

Skylar looked at his broken dagger and started to panic.

Jared then raised his palm into the air and delivered a tight slap across Skylar’s face.

Slap! The sound of the slap rang out, and Skylar was sent spinning in the air. After spinning for a few rounds, he fell heavily onto the ground.

Jared slapped him really hard. It was as if he had packed all his anger into that slap.

On the other hand, Skylar’s cheek was torn, and his cheekbone was visible. In fact, he looked utterly terrifying.

In response, Skylar glared at Jared and gritted his teeth. At the same time, his eyes were filled with anger and murderous intent.

Although he knew he was no match for Jared, he wasn’t willing to submit.

Jared then held his Dragonslayer Sword and swung it toward Skylar.

Skylar felt the horrifying sword energy, and he knew he was going to die. Hence, he shut his eyes.

    Swoosh!

Skylar felt the sword energy swooshed by, but he didn’t die. Instead, the severe pain he felt in his legs made him wail in pain.

Skylar’s legs were bleeding profusely because Jared had severed his tendons.

“Did you think I would let you die so easily?” Jared looked at Skylar coldly. At that moment, Jared looked like a devil from hell.

“Jared, kill me while you still can! Otherwise, I’m going to come back for you!” Skylar roared. He would rather die than get toyed around by Jared.

Jared gradually squatted down and grabbed Skylar’s wound forcefully.

Just like that, Jared pulled out one of the tendons in his legs.

“Ah!” Skylar was in so much pain that he had turned pale, and beads of cold sweat were forming on his forehead.

In fact, Skylar almost fainted because of how painful that was.

However, Jared pressed against Skylar and gave him a wave of spiritual energy to prevent him from fainting.

With the tendon in his hand, Jared kept whipping Skylar’s body.

Every time Jared whipped, he was slitting Skylar’s skin apart.

While Skylar was screaming in pain, he was stunned when he saw the look in Jared’s eyes. How is Jared so ruthless? He’s a devil!

“Jared, please just kill me! I beg you! Please kill me!” Skylar begged, and his tone had gotten soft. How I wish he would just kill me!

“You want to die, don’t you? Dream on! Almost a hundred of the people in the Village of Villains died! I’ll avenge them! You’ve also hung The Villainous Four up like they were dogs. Did you think about the consequences when you did that?” With that, Jared continued whipping.

“Mr. Norton!” When one of the experts from the Norton family saw what was happening to Skylar, he rushed to the scene.

The man then tried to help Skylar with his martial energy.

Jared snorted in contempt and swung his Dragonslayer Sword.

A blazing fire shot toward the expert from the Norton family.

Within seconds, the fire devoured the expert from the Norton family.

When Skylar heard an agonizing scream, he turned toward that subordinate and watched him turn into ash.

Jared tortured Skylar for a good half an hour. By the time he was done, Skylar was barely breathing.

After the beating, Skylar didn’t even look like a human anymore.

Meanwhile, almost all the experts from the Norton family were killed, and the battle was about to end.

“Go to hell!” While staring at the dying Skylar, Jared lifted his Dragonslayer Sword into the air.

He was done toying with Skylar.

Just before Jared dropped the sword, a figure appeared out of nowhere.

    “Stop! Stop what you’re doing!”

A powerful voice rang out, and it was rather deafening.

Everyone instinctively stopped fighting, and Jared also froze with his Dragonslayer Sword still in the air.

Upon seeing who had arrived, Lachlan immediately greeted politely, “Mr. Sanders!”

“How dare you disobey my words!” Mr. Sanders was glaring at Jared.

The latter was startled when he saw how Mr. Sanders was looking at him.

In fact, everyone was frightened by Mr. Sanders’ aura.

    Chapter 1233 Are You Running

Jared heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Howard arrive. He then smiled at the latter and said, “Thank you, Howard!”

Howard was embarrassed when he answered, “Jared, I’m happy enough if you don’t blame me.”

Just then, Lachlan approached them as well. When he saw Jared, he was slightly embarrassed, and he didn’t know what to say to Jared.

When Jared saw him, he said, “Thank you, Old Mr. Dunn.”

“Stop it, Mr. Chance. You’re making me feel even more ashamed of myself.” Lachlan was embarrassed.

Meanwhile, Skylar’s expression turned grim when he saw what was happening before his eyes. If Jared were to fight us alone, I’m pretty sure we could kill him. However, Lachlan has arrived with the men from the Dunn family. Besides, Lachlan is a Martial Arts Marquis. My men can’t fight Jared and those men at once.

Skylar didn’t expect Jared to bring the Dunn family along.

Apparently, Jared didn’t act rashly and storm the Norton residence on his own. When he found out Skylar was gathering up all the experts, he had gone to visit the Dunn family.

Jared was hoping that the Dunn family could help him because he was aware of the conflicts between the Dunn family and the Norton family.

Lachlan hated the Norton family even more after Skylar tortured Howard.

With that in mind, Jared went to the Dunn residence in the daytime. With Howard there, Jared managed to come to an agreement with the Dunn family fairly quickly.

They decided to unite and take revenge together.

Although Jared could be careless at times, he wasn’t stupid.

Howard’s eyes were filled with murderous intent when he glared at Skylar and said, “Skylar, I remember what you did to me, and I’ll make you pay for it a hundredfold!”

Skylar’s expression darkened, and he was gritting his teeth. At that moment, he seemed to be thinking about something.

“Charge!” Lachlan was already utterly infuriated. Despite his status as the head of the Dunn family, he was fooled by a youngster such as Skylar. Hence, he felt humiliated in front of the other martial arts families. I can’t take this anymore. The Dunn family had become the martial arts world’s laughingstock! I must regain my dignity!

Upon hearing Lachlan’s order, the men from the Dunn family charged toward the men from the Norton family.

At the same time, Lachlan unleashed his aura and killed a Semi Martial Arts Marquis from the Norton family in an instant.

After all, there was a big gap in capability between a Martial Arts Marquis and a Semi Martial Arts Marquis.

Skylar felt his heart skip a beat when he saw that. “Charge! All of you! Charge!”

Soon, a few of the experts from the Norton family had Lachlan surrounded, while the others had gone into battle with the other men from the Dunn family.

Skylar turned around and ran because he knew those men from the Norton family wouldn’t last long in battle.

When Howard saw Skylar running, he quickly turned to Jared and said, “Jared, Skylar is running away!”

With his Dragonslayer Sword, Jared jumped into the air and landed right in front of Skylar. “Are you escaping?” Jared asked coldly.

Skylar’s expression was utterly gloomy. With my current strength, there’s no way I can fight against him.

“Jared, my dad is in solitary cultivation. If you kill me now, my dad is going to come for you when he comes out!” Skylar threatened.

“You’re lucky your dad is in solitary cultivation. Otherwise, I would kill him too!” Jared’s eyes were filled with murderous intent, and he wasn’t going to let Skylar escape. I must avenge the ones from the Village of Villains!

Skylar saw how determined Jared looked, so he knew there was nothing he could say to change his mind.

With a vicious glint in his eyes, Skylar suddenly whipped out a black dagger and stabbed Jared.

    Clang!

A crisp noise rang out, and sparks flew.

Skylar had used all his strength, and the dagger was made out of tungsten steel, so it was incredibly strong and sharp.

Unfortunately for him, the dagger broke into two when it came into contact with Jared’s body.
