    Chapter 1352 A Drug

At that moment, the entire world went deathly silent. Everyone’s jaws dropped open. It was all too shocking that three men had teamed up to kill Jared, yet the latter managed to kill one of them so easily.

Desmond, especially, had gone weak at the knees then. He instinctively wanted to flee, but his legs refused to budge. Finn and Yuvan both plunged into a daze. At the sight of the severed body of the second son of the Rider family, an icy chill from the depths of their hearts permeated their entire bodies.

They promptly shuddered and swung their gazes to Jared in sheer horror. Cecilia was nestled in Jared’s embrace at that moment, and she could sense the latter’s heartbeat.

She, too, was shocked when she saw Colton split in half by a single blow of the sword. After all, the Riders were a wealthy family in Wildefield. Yet, Jared cut Colton down for her sake without fear of offending the Rider family.

A wealth of warmth suffused her, and she burrowed deeper into the man’s embrace.

“I said earlier that if he touched Ms. Jingle, I’d have the entire Rider family pay the price with their lives. Now, it’s both your turns.”

Jared regarded the two men coldly.

As the duo sensed the man’s icy gaze, their hearts sank to rock bottom, and they shivered violently.

They were terrified then, fear striking them the instant Jared split Colton’s body in half with a single blow of the sword, for it proved that the man wasn’t the least bit afraid of the Rider family.

Right then, their expressions grew increasingly grim, and their hearts filled with regret. If we hadn’t stepped out, we wouldn’t have ended up in such a situation.

“M-Mr. Chance, it was Colton who touched Lady Jingle. Even though he was the second son of the Rider family, he played the field. Now that his father isn’t here, we couldn’t stop him from doing whatever he wanted. Since he’s now dead, I hope you’ll spare the Rider family, Mr. Chance.”

Finn started imploring Jared for mercy.

Colton Rider is dead, but he deserved it. If he hadn’t provoked this man for the sake of a woman, the Rider family wouldn’t be on the brink of ruination!

“Yes, yes, it was all Colton’s doing. It had nothing to do with us. He’s dead now, so please spare us.”

Following suit, Yuvan hastily begged Jared for mercy.

Meanwhile, Desmond wore an incredulous expression at their words. He never expected the subordinates of the Rider family to have the guts to speak of Colton in such a manner.

However, it also proved that those of the Rider family seemingly didn’t quite like Colton.

“As I said, if he dared touch Ms. Jingle, I’d have the entire Rider family pay the price with their lives. If you two were to take your lives now, you’d be spared from much pain.”

Jared’s indifferent voice was devoid of emotion.

Since Colton dared to sully Cecilia, I’ll never allow the Rider family off the hook.

    “How dare you?”

Finn and Yuvan’s faces flushed bright red with fury.

Not only have we humbled ourselves and beseeched him for mercy, but Colton is also dead. Must he wipe out the Rider family?

Jared eyed them frostily with the sword in hand. “Are you ready to die?”

“Don’t think that we’re really afraid of you, Jared. We simply don’t want both parties to suffer devastating losses. But since this is the case, don’t blame us for giving it our all!”

Finn let out a roar, his expression contorting into a mask of madness. Whipping out a red vial, he unscrewed the cap and poured the liquid in it down his throat.

Jared frowned upon glimpsing the vial in Finn’s hands, for he detected a manic smell that carried a rotting stench the instant the man unscrewed the cap.

An ordinary martial arts family wouldn’t possibly create such a drug. Could it be that the Rider family has become Demonic Cultivators?

While he was dwelling upon it, Finn’s body expanded significantly. Ripping sounds rang out as the clothes on his body tore, revealing his bulging muscles. His chest puffed up, and his aura started running wild.

    Chapter 1351 Terror Struck

Alas, Colton, Finn, and Yuvan’s attacks were all blocked off by the shield before Jared. Other than the ear-splitting bangs, they didn’t leave a single scratch on Jared and Cecilia.

At that, the trio’s eyes widened. They didn’t quite know what to do anymore. “Since you’re so fond of magecraft, wouldn’t I be picking on you if I were to use a weapon? I’ll use magecraft as well.”

Having said that, Jared abruptly stretched out a hand into the air as he chanted something or other. A white light spread out from his hand.

Soon, wherever the white light spread, the shattered bricks and tiles on the ground began to vibrate violently. Then, they slowly condensed together.

In the end, they formed a giant ochre sword in front of Jared.

As he melded his senses with the sword that gave off intense energy, sword energy enveloped the whole of the Rider residence.

    Cut them down!

With a thought from him, a sharp screech rang out from the giant sword spanning over ten meters. As though having come to life, it shot right at Colton and the other two men.

Immense sword energy burst out, carrying unparalleled power.

Seeing that, Colton and the others hastily activated their magecraft. Walls of earth rose before them to block Jared’s attack.

    Bang! Bang! Bang!

As the series of deafening bangs rang out, the earth wall formed by the trio couldn’t hold up against the attack from the man’s giant sword. Under the weapon’s titanic sword energy, it crumbled in the blink of an eye.

Yet, the sword’s momentum remained strong as though desiring to sever the heavens and earth.

By then, the expressions of Colton and the others were frightfully grim. Cold sweat trickled down their foreheads, even as they continued chanting alongside making hand seals.

But no matter the method they employed, they still couldn’t stop Jared’s giant sword.

    “Retreat! Quick, retreat!”

At that turn of events, Colton swiftly ordered the other two men to retreat.

They never expected Jared to be so skilled at magecraft and the giant sword he formed to have such power.

    Bam!

The giant sword slashed a deep ravine in the ground. Although Colton and the others had hurriedly retreated, the massive recoil still flung them away like ragdolls, causing them to end up in a pathetic state.

Dust filled the air, and everything formed from rubble disintegrated back into its initial state at that moment.

The dust slowly dissipated. With Cecilia in his arms, Jared stared at the trio frostily.

Right then, dust adorned them from head to toe, and blood stained the corners of their mouths. They looked as pathetic as could be.

Even Desmond, who was a near distance away, wasn’t spared. He was likewise all dirty.

“I’m not interested in playing with you guys anymore. Be gone.”

After saying that, Jared reached out, upon which Dragonslayer Sword appeared in his hand instantly.

With the materialization of Dragonslayer Sword, a scorching wave of hot air swept over everyone there.

Without hesitation, Jared cradled Cecilia in one hand and held the sword in the other. Taking a step forward, he swung it at Colton, who was closest to him.

At once, all the hair on Colton’s body stood on end. He had started regretting ever provoking the man the instant Dragonslayer Sword made its appearance.

But since things had escalated to that point, regret was no longer of any use. Hence, he could only consolidate the martial energy within him and back away quickly.

He was exceedingly fast, but he soon realized that he still couldn’t avoid the sharp sword energy from Jared, regardless of his speed.

His expression became one of horror as his eyes brimmed with terror.

    “D-Don’t kill me!’

Terror struck him, and his knees started knocking together.

However, Jared didn’t care about all that. From the moment Colton declared that Cecilia had already become his woman, he had already sealed his fate.

    Whoosh!

As the sword energy swept past, it split Colton’s body in half.

A spurt of crimson jetted into the sky, and the coppery smell of blood lingered in the air.

Chapter 1350 What Can They Do To Me

Not only did Colton, Finn, and Yuvan attack Jared in concert, but they had all also used their ultimate techniques. Yet, the latter didn’t even suffer a scratch after their strikes landed on him.

Such a vast gap in capabilities was obvious, even to an ordinary person.

Jared stared at the three men, who were in shock, coldly.

    “Hmph.”

Following that grunt, a massive burst of energy suddenly exploded from the man.

With him as the center, it started spreading in all directions. Before the three men in front of him could react, they had already been swept away by the tremendous energy.

    Rumble!

Under the onslaught of the terrifying energy, the entire mansion started collapsing without warning.

Fanning out his spiritual sense, Jared immediately found the room where Cecilia was held. In a flash, his figure blurred.

In no time, he appeared before Cecilia.

Cecilia gazed at the man before her. Before she could gather her wits about her, Jared had already swept her into his arms.

By then, the bricks and tiles of the entire mansion had begun raining down.

Jared shielded Cecilia zealously, allowing those bricks to hit him instead.

Nonetheless, they couldn’t injure him at all.

After the dust had settled, Jared remained standing proudly amidst the rubble with Cecilia in his arms.

Cecilia hugged his neck tightly, even as she stared at him unblinkingly.

It was clear as day that she was incredibly emotional then.

    “Y-You’re really alive, Jared?”

She bit her rosy lip hard, tears pouring down her face uncontrollably.

“I’m fine. How could I possibly die? Many people want my life, but unfortunately, they can’t kill me,” Jared assured with a smile.

Right then, Colton, who had been swept out, struggled back to his feet and wiped the blood off the corner of his mouth.

His eyes blazed scarlet when he caught sight of Cecilia in Jared’s arms.

“Finn, Yuvan, we must kill him today! He’s carrying Cecilia right now, so he can’t fight back!” he said to the two other men.

The duo nodded before they started condensing martial energy in preparation for another attack.

“Quick, put me down, Jared! Don’t bother about me anymore!”

Cecilia hurriedly urged Jared to place her down upon seeing that she had become his burden.

Surprisingly, Jared didn’t release his hold on her. Instead, he flashed her a smile and murmured, “What can these three pieces of trash do to me even if I can’t make a move?”

At his nonchalant manner, her gaze gentled considerably.

At that moment, her impression of Jared improved by leaps and bounds again.

Meanwhile, the three men’s fury blazed at Jared’s contempt toward them.

Finn aimed both hands toward the rubble and made a grabbing motion.

Shortly after, the shattered bricks and tiles started swirling in the air. In the next heartbeat, a few-meter-long spear materialized in the man’s hand.

On the heels of that, more spears took shape, suspended in mid-air like sharp arrows notched to a bow, ready to launch anytime.

Colton quickly formed hand seals as well. A terrifying burst of martial energy burst forth, followed by shimmering fireballs the size of soccer balls appearing in mid-air.

Yuvan wasn’t idle either. Condensing his energy in his elixir field, he made hand seals. Innumerable fist shadows manifested around him, each as sharp as blades.

Jared watched as the trio made preparations earnestly, his lips curving upward. “It turns out that the Rider family’s expertise is in magecraft. In that case, I’ll play a bit with you all.”

After he had said that, an invisible shield covered him and Cecilia.

As he was cradling Cecilia in his arms, he could protect only himself but not her if he merely used Golem Body.

Thus, he made some hand seals so an invisible shield materialized out of thin air that could protect them both.

    “Attack!” Colton roared.

All three of them attacked at the same time. Countless spears and fireballs shot toward Jared.

The fist shadows followed closely behind, planning to strike the man after the first barrage of attacks shattered his defensive barrier.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1349

    Chapter 1349 How Dare You

“J-Jared!” Desmond had no idea when Jared had appeared behind him. The moment Colton heard Jared’s name, he hastily whirled around. His expression turned icy when he spotted the man standing at the hall entrance. “How dare you, Desmond?”

His eyes narrowing dangerously, Jared glowered at Desmond coldly. Every single word out of his mouth carried infinite murderous intent.

Such fear struck Desmond at the man’s expression that he trembled violently and took several steps back.

    “M-Mr. Chance, I can explain.”

Quivering badly, Desmond attempted to justify things.

“What else is there to explain? Is Ms. Jingle here? Let her go!” Jared ordered chillingly.

Desmond stumbled back several steps before he finally turned his gaze to Colton.

He had no say there, so he could only look to Colton.

“So, you’re Jared Chance, the kid hunted down by Jadeborough’s Warriors Alliance?” Colton looked Jared up and down. Then, he continued, “Cecilia Jingle is in my bed, and she’s already my woman. There’s no way I’m allowing you to take her away.”

The instant Jared heard that Cecilia had been sullied by the man, his aura burst forth. The temperature in the entire hall abruptly plummeted.

A terrifying murderous intent started pervading the air.

“If you’ve really touched Ms. Jingle, I’ll have the entire Rider family pay the price with their lives!”

Jared clenched his jaw, his unfathomable eyes exuding a sense of icy chilliness.

“You want the entire Rider family to pay the price with our lives? What a joke!”

The corners of Colton’s mouth turned up. On the heels of that, two men in robes swiftly charged out from the back.

When Colton saw those two men, his confidence promptly skyrocketed.

“Finn, Yuvan, kill this impudent kid with me!” he cried out at the two men who rushed over.

    “Understood!” The two men nodded.

As the three of them stepped forward and faced off against Jared, their auras intensified.

Jared, on the other hand, had disdain written clear in his eyes in the face of the trio before him. Even with such trashy capabilities, they dare to challenge me, huh?

Glimpsing the scorn in Jared’s eyes, Colton felt utterly humiliated. His figure blurred, and he lunged at the man.

    “Sagacity Fist!”

In the blink of an eye, he punched out his fist. At once, immense martial energy shot toward Jared like a cannonball.

    “Ice Palm!”

At the same time, Finn made his move as well. A thick layer of ice blanketed his palm, emanating a freezing chill that crept toward Jared and enveloped him.

Yuvan didn’t miss a beat. He lifted his leg and kicked forward, his toes glowing. As if they had been turned into blades, the air beneath his feet was all ripped into pieces.

The three of them worked together like a well-oiled machine, attacking Jared from different directions simultaneously and arriving before him at almost the same time.

At the side, Desmond’s expression inexorably changed when he witnessed that sight.

After beholding the trio’s attack, he knew that the Rider family’s capabilities were indeed not to be underestimated.

However, Jared merely regarded them with a snicker, seemingly not planning to dodge or retaliate.

While Desmond was still wondering about his inaction, he noticed a golden light shimmering on the man’s body.

As Golem Body was activated, layers of golden scales covered Jared’s entire body.

At that moment, he resembled a gold-armored warrior, facing off the three men of the Rider family fearlessly.

    Boom! Boom! Boom!

Three deafening booms split the air, and the trio struck Jared without fail. The cosmic wave of martial energy had everything in the main hall turning to dust.

However, Jared didn’t react in the slightest despite their simultaneous attacks, his expression unchanged. Not a single hair on his head was harmed.

    “H-How is this possible?”

Colton gaped at Jared, his eyes brimming with terror.

Finn and Yuvan exchanged a glance, the horror in their eyes evident.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1348

Chapter 1348 What Is The Big Deal

Jared then left Divine Beast Sect. Meanwhile, Desmond remained restless. In the end, he gritted his teeth and stood up, leaving Divine Beast Sect and heading toward Wildefield at the foot of the mountain.

He wanted to go and seek Colton out. Since Jared was still alive, the matter was now a tricky one.

Divine Beast Sect hadn’t the ability to deal with the man right then, so he wanted to see what ideas Colton had.

As he left Divine Beast Sect and was heading toward Wildefield, a figure stepped out of the darkness. It was none other than Jared.

In truth, Jared didn’t leave. Instead, he had been waiting for Desmond.

At the sight of the latter’s frantic departure, his eyes narrowed into slits. “Sure enough, I hit the nail on the head.”

He swiftly followed Desmond, who was completely unaware of it.

At the Rider residence, Colton was thrilled to the core.

Right then, Cecilia was lying on the bed, unable to move a single muscle due to the magecraft that kept her immobile.

Colton, who had just taken a shower, instructed the help, “I’m going to rest. No one is allowed to disrupt me. Don’t interrupt my fun!”

The help nodded fervently. “Understood, Mr. Colton!”

When Colton stepped into his room and laid eyes on Cecilia, who was still on the bed, his eyes gleamed predatorily.

As soon as Cecilia spotted the man, she bellowed at the top of her lungs, “You’ll rot in h*ll, you b*stard! Hurry up and let go of me!”

Alas, that only excited Colton all the more. His lips curved into a smirk, and he drawled, “Go on, Lady Jingle. Even if you scream yourself hoarse, it isn’t going to do you any good.”

While saying that, he pounced on Cecilia.

Tears slowly streamed down Cecilia’s face, even as scenes of her and Jared kept flashing in her mind.

Just when Colton was about to force himself on her, someone knocked on the door.

    At once, his temper spiked.

“Who the h*ll is there? Didn’t I say not to disrupt me? You’re sick of living, huh?” he cursed.

“Mr. Colton, Lord Cowper from Divine Beast Sect is here. He said he needed to speak to you urgently,” the help outside the door reported in a trembling voice.

Colton’s brows furrowed. “D*mn it! Why did that fellow come at this hour?”

“Lord Cowper didn’t give a reason, but he appeared frantic, Mr. Colton,” the help answered.

“Okay, got it!” Colton snapped impatiently.

Subsequently, he turned his gaze to Cecilia on the bed with reluctance written all over his face. “Wait for me, Lady Jingle. I’ll be right back!”

Colton left the room and went to the main hall. When he saw Desmond sitting there, he demanded with a dark expression, “What’s so urgent that you came all the way here in the middle of the night and disrupted my rest, Lord Cowper?”

He was hopping mad about the man having interrupted his fun.

“Mr. Colton, J-Jared is still alive. He isn’t dead!” Desmond revealed in a panic.

“So be it. What has that got to do with me? Did you come in the middle of the night just to tell me this? Have you lost your mind?” Colton snarled, shooting daggers at the man.

“Jared is very close with Crimson Palace, Mr. Colton. I’m afraid… afraid—”

“You’re afraid that he would come and kick up a fuss, yes?” Colton interrupted without waiting for Desmond to finish speaking.

“Yes, yes. I’m afraid that he’d come and kick up a fuss upon learning that Cecilia is in your hands.”

    Desmond bobbed his head earnestly.

At that, Colton sneered, “Hmph! If he dares to come to the Rider residence to kick up a fuss, I’ll make it so that he can never leave this place. What’s the big deal? Do you think anyone can come and go from the Rider residence as they please? Hurry up and go back. Don’t disrupt my plans here. What a wet blanket!”

Chagrined, Colton gave Desmond the boot and hurriedly spun around to head back to his room.

Seeing that, Desmond could only sigh soundlessly. But just as he turned around to leave, he suddenly froze.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1347

    Chapter 1347 Pretending

“This is impossible. It must be fake. That person must be impersonating him.” As Desmond spoke, he got to his feet and walked out of the building. However, he did not dare to reveal himself right away.

Desmond wanted to make sure if the visitor was actually Jared. If it were really the latter, then he would have to come up with a plan.

Desmond took a peep outside when he arrived at the door. Meanwhile, Jared was standing right in front of the door, frowning. “What’s up with Desmond? Why is he dilly-dallying when he already knows I’m here?” he mumbled under his breath.

Jared had already announced his arrival long ago, but he was still not granted entry. All that made his temper flare.

Losing his patience, he released his spiritual sense and immediately detected Desmond, who was spying on him.

Jared was confused by the discovery. He could not understand why Desmond was secretly observing him instead of letting him in when the latter already knew about his arrival.

Could this punk have done something wrong?

At the same time, Desmond’s legs went weak, and his forehead was covered with sweat as soon as he confirmed it was Jared standing in front of the door.

Noting Desmond’s odd behavior, the disciple called out softly, “Lord Cowper…”

“Bring Mr. Chance in. And don’t tell him I already know about his arrival,” informed Desmond.

The disciple nodded and left. Meanwhile, Desmond quickly returned to the hall and took several deep breaths.

Feeling it was about time for him to head out, Desmond marched toward the exit. Coincidentally, Jared had stepped into the hall.

Desmond said politely, “Mr. Chance! I was about to go out to welcome you. I didn’t expect you to have entered. Please, have a seat.”

Desmond poured Jared a cup of coffee. After all, the former had witnessed Jared’s capabilities with his own eyes in the past.

Jared eyed Desmond coldly without blinking, sending chills down the latter’s spine. Even beads of sweat were trickling from his forehead.

“Mr. Chance, may I know what’s the purpose of your sudden visit at this hour?” Desmond asked anxiously.

“Lord Cowper, did Ms. Jingle come here today?” asked Jared.

“Yes. I had something to discuss with Lady Jingle. However, she left before nightfall. What’s wrong? Did she not return to the palace?” Desmond asked, feigning surprise.

Jared nodded. “She didn’t. Can I know what was the important matter you had to discuss with Ms. Jingle?”

Desmond tried his best to recollect himself before explaining, “Oh, it’s nothing much. It’s just that Mr. Rider, I mean Colton of the Rider family, came looking for me a few days ago. He wanted me to introduce him to her, but I rejected him. I was worried the Rider family would stir trouble for me, so I invited Lady Jingle to come here and discuss it. I wanted to get her opinion on how we should deal with them in case they come looking for me for trouble.”

“The Rider family?” Jared knitted his brows. He had no knowledge about the Rider family of Wildefield.

Then again, there were countless sects and families in the Southwest Region. Thus, it was normal for Jared not to know about all of them.

“The Rider family is the most wealthy family in Wildefield. In the past, both their family and my sect would never stand in each other’s way. Now that Divine Beast Sect’s powers have been reduced greatly…” Desmond trailed off and stopped talking. Nonetheless, Jared knew what Desmond wanted to say.

Without their powers, they would naturally be bullied by others.

That was the harsh reality of the martial arts world. Everything depended on how powerful a person or an organization was.

“Could Ms. Jingle be abducted by the Rider family?” Jared asked.

“Uh… I’m not sure about this.” Desmond shook his head.

Jared eyed Desmond for a while, making the latter feel extremely anxious.

Thankfully, Jared quickly retracted his gaze and said, “Lord Cowper, please inform me if you have any news about Ms. Jingle’s whereabouts.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Chance. I’ll definitely inform you if I find her.” Desmond nodded.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1346

Chapter 1346 You Are Not Dead

When the visitor got closer to them, Millie froze, for the person standing before them was Jared, the man who had resurrected from the dead.

Jared, too, was surprised to see Millie leaving in a rush with a group of people behind her. “Millie, where are you taking these people at this hour?” he asked.

However, Millie did not answer his question. All she did was stare at Jared fixedly, which sent chills down his spine. “Millie? Millie?” Jared called out a few more times.

“Jared!” Millie suddenly shouted and threw herself into Jared’s embrace, bursting into tears.

Jared was bewildered by Millie’s sudden actions.

Given no choice, he raised his arms and let Millie hug and cry as much as she wanted. It took her some time before she finally stopped crying.

Seeing Millie had stopped crying, Jared asked, “What happened, Millie?”

“I knew you weren’t dead, Jared. I knew you wouldn’t die…” Millie uttered with a grin, wiping her tears away.

“Who said I was dead?” Jared asked, utterly puzzled. Truth was, he had no idea Zion had been spreading the news of the former’s death in Warriors Alliance.

“Warriors Alliance of Jadeborough. They posted on the martial arts forum saying you were murdered by President Zeigler of Warriors Alliance,” Millie explained.

Jared furrowed his brows upon hearing that. He never expected Zion, the president of Warriors Alliance, would bully the weak by killing him and even have the guts to announce it on the martial arts forum.

Despite that, Jared thought it was a great idea. Now that everyone believed he was dead, he could cultivate in peace without anyone disturbing him.

Jared smiled and ruffled Millie’s hair, saying, “How could I be killed so easily? Did you really believe it just because they said that?”

Millie quickly shook her head and denied, “Of course, I didn’t believe them. My sister didn’t, either. She even asked me to watch over the cave, saying you’d definitely return.”

Jared queried, “So, where are you taking all these people to? It’s already so late at night.”

“I’m going to look for Cecilia. She went to Divine Beast Sect and isn’t back yet. I’m worried about her.” The mention of Cecilia made Millie frown with worry.

“She went to Divine Beast Sect?” Jared frowned. After some time, he suggested, “Take them back. I’ll make a trip to Divine Beast Sect to find out if your sister’s there.”

“I’ll come with you!” Millie offered.

“No. If your sister comes back and finds out you’re not here, she’ll definitely be worried sick. Just stay here and wait for her, okay? I’ll go over to Divine Beast Sect and have a look.” With that, Jared spun on his heels and made his way to Divine Beast Sect.

In the meantime, Desmond was sitting smugly in the lord’s seat in Divine Beast Sect.

Divine Beast Sect’s powers had decreased drastically. If he were to get a hundred enhancement pills from the Rider family, it would greatly increase the sect’s capabilities.

As for Cecilia, Desmond had no time to be bothered about it. Now that Jared was dead, there was no meaning in having an alliance with Crimson Palace.

Desmond planned to acquire Crimson Palace once Divine Beast Sect had gotten stronger.

Just as he was dreaming about all the wonderful things that could happen, a disciple of the Divine Beast Sect suddenly rushed in.

“Lord Cowper, there’s someone out there who wants to meet you,” informed the disciple.

“At such an hour? Who is it?” Desmond asked, confused.

“He says his name is Jared Chance,” answered the disciple.

As soon as Desmond heard the name, he stumbled from his seat, and his eyes widened in shock. “What did you say? Did you get a good look at him?”

“Well, he says his name is Jared. A-And I’ve never met him before,” the disciple said helplessly. He had never met Jared before. Thus, the disciple did not know if the visitor was actually Jared, even if he had a good look at the latter.

    Desmond trembled, his heart pounding.

Warriors Alliance has clearly announced that Zion killed Jared. Why would Jared suddenly appear here now?

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1345

    Chapter 1345 Looking For Someone

“Desmond, y-you’re unbelievably shameless!” Cecilia stood up furiously, wanting to give Desmond a slap.

Unfortunately, the second she stood up, her body felt weak, and even her martial energy could not be summoned.

It made Cecilia’s rage spike, and she trembled with rage.

“Stop trying to resist, Lady Jingle. Just do as you’re told. I promise to treat you well,” said Colton, a sly smile creeping up his lips as he reached out to touch Cecilia’s face.

    “Lady Jingle, run!”

Just then, the two disciples of Crimson Palace, who had been standing behind Cecilia, pulled out their swords and aimed them at Colton.

They each took a side and charged at Colton.

Seeing that, Colton snorted, grabbed the disciples’ swords, and twisted them hard.

    Bam!

The swords broke, their other halves in Colton’s hand.

Immediately after that, Colton waved his hand, and a cold glint flashed.

A wound appeared on each of the disciples’ necks. It then enlarged, and blood gushed out of them.

Cecilia’s eyes widened as she witnessed the disciples’ horrifying death. Though she was too weak to move, she still forced herself to knock Colton over.

Colton reached out and grabbed her wrist, putting her under his control.

“Let me go, you monster. I dare you to kill me!” Cecilia yelled furiously.

However, Colton seemed unbothered by her words. In fact, the more she scolded him, the happier he felt.

“Well done, Lord Cowper. I’ll order someone to bring you the enhancement pills once I get back,” Colton said to Desmond.

“You’re being too polite, Mr. Colton. If that’s the case, I shall graciously accept your offer. Should I get someone to send you back?” Desmond asked flatteringly.

“No, it’s okay. We can go back on our own.” With that, Colton lifted Cecilia and walked out of the precinct.

Cecilia struggled with all her might. “Let me go, you b*stard!”

Sadly, no matter how hard she struggled, she could not break free from Colton’s grip. At her wits’ end, she bit him on the shoulder.

“Ah!” Colton shrieked in pain, immediately landing a chop on the back of Cecilia’s neck.

Just like that, Cecilia passed out. At the same time, Colton cursed under his breath, “This lady is quite feisty. I like it.”

Meanwhile, Millie instructed a few men to guard the back of the mountain at Crimson Palace. After all, the cave was somewhere not too far up the mountain. She was not going to let anyone enter it.

Someplace not too far away from them, a shadow slowly appeared. After watching Millie and the others for some time, the shadow leaped swiftly to the back of the mountain and slipped into the cave.

The shadow’s movements were so quick and light that no sound was made. Thus, Millie and the others were totally unaware of what happened.

As the sky slowly got darker, Millie glanced at the time and asked, “Why isn’t Cecilia back yet? Don’t tell me something happened to her.”

Millie kept feeling uneasy, and her eyelids kept twitching.

She went to the palace’s entrance and waited anxiously for Cecilia’s return.

Soon, the sky turned dark, with countless stars twinkling in the sky. It was way past dinnertime, yet there was no news from Cecilia. It made Millie worry terribly.

After all, Cecilia never stayed out so late. Now that so much time had passed, her absence could only mean that something had happened.

Moreover, many families and sects had ill intentions toward Crimson Palace. To make matters worse, Cecilia’s beauty made them covet her more.

After analyzing the situation, Millie had no choice but to gather some people to head over to Divine Beast Sect to look for Cecilia. The former wanted to find out what was going on.

Just as Millie was about to walk out of Crimson Palace with a group of people, they spotted someone slowly making his way toward them.

Seeing that, Millie frowned and ordered the others to be on guard.

Chapter 1344 Die A Happy Death

“Don’t worry, Mr. Colton. I know what to do. Don’t forget the enhancement pills you promised—”

Before Desmond could finish, Colton patted his chest and promised, “Rest assured, Lord Cowper. I’m a man of my word. It’s just a hundred enhancement pills. It’s nothing to my family.”

Only then did Desmond smile satisfactorily. He then waited silently for Cecilia to arrive.

Soon, Cecilia arrived at Divine Beast Sect with two martial trainees. It was not her first visit to Divine Beast Sect ever since she formed an alliance with them. Thus, she did not bring many people with her this time.

Seeing Cecilia had arrived, Colton brought the others to hide at the back of the hall and watch her through the cracks.

As soon as Desmond saw Cecilia, he quickly apologized politely, “I’m so sorry for making you travel all the way here, Lady Jingle.”

“Oh, you’re being too polite with me, Lord Cowper. The messenger made it sound as if there was something urgent. Do you have something important to discuss with me?” Cecilia asked, gazing at Desmond.

“Please have a seat, Lady Jingle. Let’s have some coffee while we talk. I’ve specially prepared some quality coffee.” Desmond gestured for her to have a seat.

Not having her guard up, Cecilia sat in the chair but did not drink the coffee. Instead, she asked again, “Lord Cowper, perhaps you should tell me about the urgent matter.”

Cecilia was more eager to find out what was the matter that made Desmond summon her so urgently.

“Lady Jingle, do you know Colton Rider of the Rider family?” Desmond asked.

Cecilia nodded. “Of course. Isn’t he the lecher who has dozens of wives? He has quite the reputation here. What about him?”

“Colton came looking for me, wanting me to introduce you to him. Looks like he’s taken a liking to you. Then again, you and I have formed an alliance. There’s no way I can do such a thing. That’s why I rejected his request. But you should know how powerful the Rider family is now. If they were to attack Divine Beast Sect, we’d only get beaten up. So, I’m thinking—”

Before Desmond could even finish his words, Cecilia said gratefully, “Please stop, Lord Cowper. Since we’ve formed an alliance, then we’re in this together. Crimson Palace will definitely come out in full force if the Rider family dares to attack Divine Beast Sect. We’ll never let Divine Beast Sect face the Rider family alone, even if it means dying with them.”

Cecilia was extremely grateful to Desmond. Since he offended the Rider family because of me, I’ll never make Crimson Palace sit idly by if Divine Beast Sect is in trouble.

Desmond’s expression lit up instantly. He lifted his cup and said, “That’s great. I feel much at ease hearing this from you. Lady Jingle, let’s use our coffee to have a toast to our decision.”

Not the slightest bit suspicious of Desmond, Cecilia raised her cup and downed her drink with him.

Colton, who had been spying on them the entire time, smiled smugly when he saw Cecilia finishing her cup of coffee.

Cecilia felt nothing unusual after drinking the coffee. She even continued chatting with Desmond.

The moment Colton revealed himself, Cecilia froze in shock.

“Hahaha! I kept hearing rumors of Lady Jingle’s incredible beauty. Seeing her with my own eyes only confirms the rumors. She’s a hundred times more beautiful than an angel. I’ll die happy if I can sleep with Lady Jingle just once. It’ll be a happy death.” Colton stared at her lecherously as he slowly approached her.

Cecilia knitted her brows. “Lord Cowper, what’s going on?”

Desmond turned to Cecilia and advised, “Cecilia, please just do as Mr. Colton says. I didn’t have a choice, either.”

Cecilia immediately realized what was going on after hearing what he said. Her face turned red with fury, and she glared daggers at Desmond, looking as if she wanted to eat him up so badly.

Chapter 1343 A Special Place In Her Heart

Matters like Jared killing Richard were a big deal in the Southwest Region. It was impossible to keep it from the others. Colton only needed to ask around to learn about the matter.

“Mr. Colton, of course, I’d be happy to be of service. However, as you’re aware, Cecilia has been staying chaste all this while. She’ll never give in. I’m afraid…”

Desmond feared Cecilia would do something extreme. It would be troublesome if both parties got into trouble.

“Lord Cowper, I just need you to make Cecilia come into the Divine Beast Sect. I’ll handle the rest,” said Colton plainly.

Desmond studied Colton, knowing the latter would not give up without achieving his goals. Hence, Desmond forced through gritted teeth, “Okay. I’ll bring Cecilia over for you.”

“Hahaha! You’re a wise man, Lord Cowper. I shall wait here patiently, then.” Colton continued guffawing.

Meanwhile, at Crimson Palace, Cecilia and Millie had been feeling distracted and not eating well for several days.

“Cecilia, was Jared really killed by Warriors Alliance? I just can’t believe it. Could Warriors Alliance be releasing fake news?”

Millie was unwilling to believe Jared had died just like that.

Cecilia, however, said nothing in response because she knew Warriors Alliance of Jadeborough usually would not release fake news.

Even so, Cecilia, too, did not believe Jared would die so easily.

At that moment, Cecilia could still recall the night that made her think Jared had died.

The anomalies that occurred when Jared was breaking through proved he was different from ordinary martial artists. Perhaps he might come back to life like what happened last time.

Just then, a martial trainee of Crimson Palace informed Cecilia, “Lady Jingle, someone from Divine Beast Sect is here.”

Hearing it was someone from Divine Beast Sect, Cecilia quickly recollected herself and said, “Let him in.”

Ever since Divine Beast Sect and Crimson Palace formed an alliance, Cecilia had been keeping in touch with Divine Beast Sect.

It did not take long for the messenger from Divine Beast Sect to come in. He then said to Cecilia, “Lady Jingle, Lord Cowper would like to invite you to Divine Beast Sect. He says there’s something important that needs to be discussed.”

Upon hearing that, Cecilia nodded, saying, “Okay. I’ve noted that. Tell Lord Cowper I’ll be there right away.”

The moment the messenger left, Cecilia started making preparations to leave for Divine Beast Sect.

“Cecilia, I’ll go with you,” Millie offered.

“You should stay here and keep an eye on the cave. Don’t let anyone enter it,” Cecilia instructed. She glanced in the direction of Jadeborough and continued, “I keep getting the feeling that Mr. Chance will come…”

“You think Jared’s not dead, too?” Millie asked happily when she heard Cecilia putting it that way.

Cecilia did not answer. Whether or not Jared was dead, he would always have a special place in her heart.

All Cecilia knew was that she would never be attracted to another man from that day onward.

With that, Cecilia hurried over. Meanwhile, Colton pulled out a tiny vial from his pocket, poured a few drops of liquid into a cup, and stirred it.

At the same time, Desmond merely watched Colton making preparations, saying nothing.

In the past, Desmond felt a strong disgust and aversion whenever he saw Richard plotting evil things. That was why the former used the chance to kill Richard when he was fighting Jared. In the end, he became the lord of Divine Beast Sect.

And now, Desmond had become the devil himself. He had become the same person as Richard was. However, it was something unavoidable. After all, he had gained a different perception after being in a different position.

“Lord Cowper, I’ll be counting on you for the next steps. As long as you make Lady Jingle drink this cup of coffee, she’ll obey everything we say,” Colton said to Desmond.
