Chapter 1372 Cultivation On The Spot

When Jared got onto the tiny island, he looked at the Verdant Ganoderma excitedly. He walked toward it carefully out of fear that there were any other booby traps around.

As he got closer and closer to the Verdant Ganoderma, the more concentrated the spiritual energy became. At that moment, he felt like he was in a hot spring. It was truly comfortable.

Right when he was about to pluck the Verdant Ganoderma, Flaxseed yelled, “Don’t move!”

Jared stopped moving as he looked at Flaxseed with a puzzled expression.

Flaxseed leaped and stepped on the water on tip-toe. Soon, he reached the tiny island as well.

“Don’t touch it. Once the Verdant Ganoderma leaves the spiritual soil, it’ll wither immediately,” Flaxseed said to Jared.

“Then what do we do?” Jared asked, dumbfounded.

What’s the use if we can’t take it away?

“We can try to cultivate and absorb all of the spiritual energy from the Verdant Ganoderma and the spiritual soil,” Flaxseed replied.

Jared furrowed his brows. “What? You mean cultivate right here?”

Flaxseed nodded. “Yeah. This is the only way. The Verdant Ganoderma can’t leave this place.”

“How long will this take?” Jared asked while frowning. I still have a lot of stuff that I have to do. If I waste too much time here cultivating, what about Josephine? What about my mother?

“I don’t know. But judging from its size, if both of us cultivate at the same time, it’ll take a month at the soonest or half a year at most for us to absorb all of their spiritual energy,” Flaxseed said.

Jared hesitated for a while before nodding. “Okay. Let’s cultivate here.”

His original intention of coming to Crimson Palace was to cultivate, but he couldn’t stay there for too long.

The most he could stay was for a month. No matter what, even if he couldn’t finish absorbing the spiritual energy from the Verdant Ganoderma, he had to leave by then.

Soon, Jared and Flaxseed sat cross-legged and started to cultivate.

Meanwhile, at the Warriors Alliance in Jadeborough, Zion was furious when the news that Jared was still alive reached Jadeborough.

In an instant, Zion had become the laughing stock of the martial arts world.

First, David lied that he had killed Jared, and now it was Zion’s turn.

Besides, Zion was the president of the Warriors Alliance. How could he make up such a lie?

“That’s impossible! No way! I killed Jared myself! He’s already dead! How could he still be alive?” Zion yelled and started throwing stuff from his table out of anger.

“President Zeigler, news that Jared is alive is being spread on the martial arts forum. It’s spread by someone from the Rider family in Wildefield in the Southwest Region,” an elder said to Zion.

“Wildefield in Southwest Region? What is Jared doing there?” Zion asked, frowning slightly.

The elder said nothing and shook his head. How would I know?

After thinking for some time, Zion waved his hand and said, “Contact the Rider family from Wildefield immediately. I want to talk to them and ask them myself! I don’t believe that Jared is an immortal who can come back to life!”

The elder hurriedly called the Rider family, and Zion spoke with Tobias in person.

After getting Tobias’ confirmation, Zion had no choice but to admit that he had fallen into Jared’s trap.

Everyone in the martial arts world was laughing at him for doing something like that as the president of the Warriors Alliance in Jadeborough.

“How is he still alive? I killed him myself!”

Zion couldn’t figure it out. I swear I killed him. At that time, I even penetrated his entire chest! If he’s still alive after that, then he’s immortal…

    Chapter 1371 Burn Them

Nonetheless, Jared didn’t care at all at that moment. He leaped and tapped his feet on the water before jumping off again.

However, his expression changed when he landed on the water the second time and wanted to take another step.

He felt a looming force of oppression in the air pressing down on him. It was as if his body was a hundred tons heavy. No matter how hard he tried, he could no longer uplift his body.

Besides, the pure spiritual energy that surrounded the place a moment ago had been replaced by a terrifying force that made the entire tomb feel like a forbidden place.

Jared couldn’t jump or step on the surface of the water. Both his legs started sinking into the bubbling water, which looked like it was boiling.

Shocked, he tried using all his spiritual energy to try to lift his body. However, no matter how hard he tried, his legs kept submerging in the water.

Seeing that, Flaxseed, who was ashore, quickly took out two charms and chanted an incantation before flinging the charms in Jared’s direction.

“Jared! Step on them!” Flaxseed shouted as the two charms appeared in front of Jared. They looked like wooden boats that floated on the water.

Jared saw it and quickly stepped on the two charms. With the help of those charms, he rushed toward the tiny island using his spiritual energy.

At that moment, numerous jet-black fish suddenly jumped out of the boiling water like flying fish. They soared into the sky and spat liquid arrows from their mouths.

Jared’s expression turned incredibly solemn. Instantly, his body started to glow as he activated Golem Body. He decided to ignore those flying fish as he rushed toward the tiny island.

More than ten liquid arrows hit Jared’s body. However, he didn’t care at all since he had Golem Body protecting him. Besides, the attack of the liquid arrows was weak and was totally ignorable.

Jared was puzzled. Such attacks can’t even hurt an ordinary person, right? Not to mention an expert.

As soon as that thought surfaced in his mind, he felt some indescribable tightness all over his body.

The next moment, he heard a sizzling sound like something was grilling on a hot plate.

He lowered his head and saw that the scales of his Golem Body were melting and dropping off from his body speedily, which startled him as he didn’t even realize when that happened.

Later, Jared’s skin started bleeding, and he was shocked.

“Be careful! Those liquid arrows are very corrosive and are more concentrated than sulfuric acid! Don’t let them touch you!” Flaxseed yelled from ashore.

Jared was speechless the moment he heard that. D*mn it. Why didn’t you say it sooner? My entire body’s corroded now!

However, he was already at the point of no return. All he could do was let out a low growl and exert all of his spiritual energy. The Power of Dragons transformed into a golden dragon and let out a thunderous roar.

Jared’s eyes turned icy. No matter how powerful these flying fish are, I won’t let them stop me from getting on the island!

    “Go to hell!”

With a push of his palms, a light blue flame shot out from his hands.

That was the spiritual fire. At that moment, he wanted to use the spiritual fire to burn those fish.

Besides, the golden dragon soared into the air and started spewing flames at those flying fish.

With the combined attack between Jared and the golden dragon, the flying fish burned before dropping into the water again.

Jared used the opportunity to leap toward the island immediately.

At that moment, he looked like a wretched beggar because of his tattered clothes and all the fresh blood oozing out from his injuries.

Fortunately, those were all external injuries, so he was fine.

Chapter 1370 Hope For Better Luck

“The ancient tomb that we found is probably only one out of the seven stars. It must’ve been unearthed through time. After the changes in the landscape patterns, it was exposed and was discovered by me,” Flaxseed said to Jared.

Jared couldn’t help but sigh in awe at the sight of the fake tomb. The restoration of the tomb is so majestic and impressive.

“Since this is a fake tomb, there shouldn’t be any danger here, right? Let’s go in and see if we can find any magical items. Then, let’s grab them and leave,” Jared said to Flaxseed.

Flaxseed shook his head. “There are seven structures in this tomb. We have to look for them closely. One of them is where the magical items are placed.”

“What? That’s so troublesome!” Jared was shocked.

That tomb was built according to the structure of the Seven Stars Eclipse. He didn’t expect the inner parts of the tomb to be of the same structure. It was like a complex maze with twists and turns.

“All we can do now is to search for it slowly. I hope luck is on our side,” Flaxseed said.

“Then can you find the other six tombs?” Jared asked.

Flaxseed paused before replying, “As long as the landscape patterns don’t disappear, it’ll be difficult for us to find the remaining six tombs, even for someone like me. But, a master who is stronger than me may be able to find them!”

Jared kept silent. He had never met any master better than Flaxseed when it came to tomb exploring. Even the most famous tomb explorer in Jadeborough, Octavius, wasn’t a match for Flaxseed.

Jared followed Flaxseed farther into the tomb. The inside of the tomb was huge and unique.

There was another cave hidden within, and it looked like there was a small world in the tomb.

After walking for more than ten minutes, Jared and Flaxseed reached a body of water. It was jet-black, and they couldn’t even see anything in it. There was also a tiny island in the middle of the water.

From where they stood, they saw a green tree grown on the island.

The tree had very thin branches that were completely emerald green.

Moreover, the tree was only about a meter in height, and the emerald-green branch was like a work of art.

Even from a distance, Jared and Flaxseed could smell the tree’s fragrance.

No one knew what lay hidden under the still, dark, murky water.

    “A Verdant Ganoderma…”

Flaxseed was shocked when he saw the slightly hidden green tree on the tiny island that seemed to be surrounded by a mysterious energy. The plant was a type of high-grade spiritual plant called Verdant Ganoderma.

He could tell that the owner of the ancient tomb had planted the spiritual plant there. Besides, there was some spiritual soil under the roots since the spiritual plant couldn’t survive on ordinary soil.

The spiritual soil was a little cyan-green in color and granular in shape. It looked like clean, green sand.

That bit of spiritual soil was worth a fortune, and even one grain of the spiritual soil was a lot more precious than that of gold.

Unfortunately, nowadays, not many had the luxury to see something like that.

    “This is some good stuff!”

Jared’s breathing turned rapid. When he saw it, he knew it was a treasure.

Even from a hundred meters away, he could feel the spiritual energy emanating from the Verdant Ganoderma. The spiritual energy was beyond the mundane world and free of impurities. To Jared, it was a priceless treasure.

    “I’ll go pick it.”

With that, Jared jumped up and dashed toward the Verdant Ganoderma.

    “Don’t act recklessly! Be careful—”

Flaxseed knew that the magical items and spiritual plants would be protected by booby traps or ferocious beasts. Jared was putting himself in danger by rushing over recklessly.

    Chapter 1369 Truly An Expert

“The Seven Stars Eclipse is one of the layouts for the top ten ancient tombs!” Flaxseed exclaimed in awe. As Jared knew nothing about the Seven Stars Eclipse and the top ten ancient tombs, he had no idea what Flaxseed was talking about.

Honestly, I am deeply impressed by Mr. Flaxseed’s knowledge in tomb exploration! Realizing the look of confusion on Jared’s face, Flaxseed motioned at him to come closer as he taught him all about ancient tombs.

“The top ten ancient tombs all have different layouts. To be honest, there’s nothing too special about these ten ancient tombs. Their layouts are designed with the knowledge of geomancy in mind, which allows them to bless the deceased’s future generations with good luck and prosperity.

This is a relatively high-level technique. Out of the ten ancient tombs, less than three of them are actually dangerous. In order to prevent others from raiding them, the tombs were filled with deadly traps. As most of the people who tried entering those tombs have died, it served as an effective deterrent for tomb raiders. The most famous tomb of all is the one known as ‘Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine Fake Tombs.’

As the name suggests, an immortal had built a thousand tombs before he died. Nine hundred ninety-nine of those tombs were fake ones, and each of them had deadly traps that killed most of those who entered. Not even the descendants of that immortal know the location of his true tomb.

The Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine Fake Tombs were incredibly effective in keeping tomb raiders out as no one was willing to risk their lives with such near-impossible odds. Only immortals with respectable statuses in life are buried in such ancient tombs. As you already know, there aren’t exactly that many immortals out there. I can’t believe we managed to stumble upon one of them.”

Jared’s face was filled with disbelief after hearing what Flaxseed said. He looked up at the ceiling and saw a sun surrounded by seven dazzling pearls.

Oh… This must be the Seven Stars Eclipse he was telling me about.

“I get it now. This stuff on the ceiling is the Seven Stars Eclipse, right? That means this is the Seven Stars Eclipse tomb!” Jared said while pointing at the ceiling.

To his surprise, Flaxseed chuckled and shook his head. “The top ten ancient tombs wouldn’t have earned their reputation if they were that easily identified.”

“Huh? You mean this isn’t how you identify them?” Jared asked awkwardly after a brief pause.

“Of course not! The Seven Stars Eclipse indicates there are seven tombs here. The one we’re in is only one of them! The Seven Stars Eclipse is a ‘ley line’ layout that corresponds to the seven stars. By building the tomb at the best location according to geomancy, one is able to complete the Seven Stars Eclipse layout. The ‘Eclipse’ is where we will find the actual tomb.”

Jared’s jaw dropped when he heard that.

Whoa… I never knew it was this complex! It’s definitely not as simple as I had imagined! Mr. Flaxseed truly is an expert when it comes to this sort of thing! My knowledge is below elementary level compared to his!

“This tomb that we’re currently in… Is it where the immortal is buried?” Jared asked curiously.

Flaxseed shook his head. “I’m not too sure about that. Even if it isn’t, there will still be treasures we can loot.”

Jared breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that. Phew! At least we won’t have come all the way here for nothing!

Flaxseed then led Jared deeper into the ancient tomb and observed their surroundings in detail.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1368

Chapter 1368 We Have Come Too Far

“Nine Shadows? This is Nine Shadows, isn’t it?” Jared yelled when he saw what was going on. However, the Nine Shadows being performed by this swordsman was quite different from the one Jared learned from Ichiro.

This swordsman’s Nine Shadows is clearly a lot more powerful! With that in mind, Jared wanted to hop off the giant rock and have a chat with the swordsman.

Before he could do so, the scene in front of him instantly shattered like a piece of glass. Jared coughed up a mouthful of blood as he was yanked out of that world.

“Jared, are you okay?” Flaxseed asked with his face all pale. Noticing the charm that was pasted on his forehead, Jared asked with a frown, “What just happened?”

It looked like I was dreaming, but it also felt so real…

“You were affected by the illusion spell due to your weak mental energy. Had I not pulled you out in time, you’d probably be trapped in there forever. Don’t go around touching or staring at stuff, got it? This place is incredibly dangerous!” Flaxseed replied.

As Jared had been pulled out of that world before he could get a clear view of what happened, he couldn’t help but feel tempted to go back inside.

Man, just thinking about that swordsman’s Nine Shadows is enough to get my blood pumping with excitement! The Nine Shadows I’ve learned is complete garbage compared to that!

“No, I need to get back in there…” Jared mumbled as he tore the charm off his forehead and stared directly at the stone tablet. He wanted to return to that world and watch the swordsman complete his execution of Nine Shadows.

Thinking Jared’s mind had been controlled, Flaxseed roared, “What the heck are you doing? Have you gone mad?”

He even tried hitting Jared with a powerful mental energy attack in order to snap him out of it, but Jared kept his gaze fixated on the stone tablet.

“What? How is this possible? Why can’t I get back inside?”

No matter how hard he stared at the stone tablet, Jared couldn’t seem to return to that world.

A few minutes later, Jared let out a helpless sigh and retracted his gaze.

“D*mn it… It’s such a shame…” he mumbled with regret and frustration written all over his face.

Unsure of what had gotten into Jared, Flaxseed simply stared at him in confusion.

After hearing Jared explain everything that happened earlier, the look on Flaxseed’s face changed instantly.

“Jared, I’m starting to think we shouldn’t have entered this immortal’s tomb…”

Flaxseed was starting to get scared as this place was filled with things far beyond their knowledge and comprehension.

“We should at least have a look inside now that we’re here,” Jared replied with a faint smile.

We’ve come too far to back away now!

Flaxseed nodded and continued leading Jared inside the altar where the actual tomb was located.

The ancient tomb was gray in color, and the air inside was rather dank.

“My goodness!” Jared exclaimed in shock when he entered the tomb.

I can’t imagine the cultivation level of the person who built this tomb! The ceiling of the tomb was pitch black and covered in countless Luminous Pearls, which made it look like a starry night sky.

Flaxseed had a stern look on his face as he examined every single corner of the tomb and exercised extreme caution with each step he took.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1367

    Chapter 1367 Who Are You

This place has been kept hidden for so many years. I wonder if we’re considered lucky for discovering it… “Come on, let’s go check it out!” Flaxseed could barely contain his excitement any longer.

The two of them soon arrived at the altar-like area atop the mountain. There was a huge stone tablet on the altar with the following words carved onto it: I am always standing atop a hill of swords…

As the words were carved onto the stone tablet and facing outward, it looked like they were meant to be read by those who discovered the tomb. Jared started spacing out a little as he stood there staring at the message.

These words are exuding sword energy. The owner of this ancient tomb carved them onto this stone tablet with two fingers, and he did it in one go. Ordinary people won’t be able to see this, but these words show the owner’s profound knowledge in swordsmanship!

Jared stopped in front of the stone tablet and looked up at it with a confused expression. He could feel a hint of sword energy coming from the stone tablet.

“What’s wrong? Did you manage to find something?” Flaxseed asked when he saw Jared staring blankly at the stone tablet. However, Jared simply stood perfectly still and ignored his question completely.

Fearing that Jared was being controlled by someone, Flaxseed thought about giving him a little shove. There’s no telling what could happen here. Jared’s mental energy isn’t strong enough, so it’s highly possible that his mind is being controlled!

Flaxseed’s hand was frozen in place when he saw Jared standing there lifelessly with only the whites of his eyes showing. It was a truly terrifying sight to behold.

Jared was aware that his mind was being pulled into the stone tablet. He tried really hard to break free of its grip, but his struggles were all in vain.

Sweat continued pouring down Jared’s forehead as his body trembled all over.

With a frown on his face, Flaxseed pulled out a charm, bit down on his finger, and scribbled something on it with his blood.

Meanwhile, Jared had entered another world and saw a completely different environment around him.

“Where am I? What is this place?” Jared shouted at the top of his lungs, but there was no response.

He was standing on a gigantic rock in a foggy, grayish world.

As the fog slowly cleared up, he was surprised to see millions of corpses covering the land in front of him.

The air was filled with the sickening stench of blood, and terrifying spiritual energy lingered around him. Jared tried to absorb that spiritual energy by channeling Focus Technique, but it was no use.

A figure then slowly stepped into view and stood in front of him. With his body covered in blood and a long sword in his hand, the man glared at Jared with strong murderous intent.

“Who are you? Who are you?” Jared called out to the swordsman twice, but the swordsman ignored him completely.

It was as if the swordsman didn’t even see Jared standing there.

The swordsman then carried his sword on his back and turned around to stare at the millions of corpses lying around.

As the rays of the setting sun elongated the swordsman’s shadow, Jared realized how lonely and melancholic he looked.

Suddenly, the swordsman started moving again. Nine huge shadows that looked just like him sprang out of his back.

The nine shadows then formed a murderous array, unleashing a horrifying aura that filled the air around it.

The swordsman then started twirling his sword around, prompting the nine shadows behind him to do the same.

The way their swords danced about was so beautiful and artistic that Jared couldn’t take his eyes off them.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1366

    Chapter 1366 An Impressive Layout

The wind was so strong that his face began to hurt. Jared opened his eyes out of curiosity, but Flaxseed grabbed his wrist and reminded him, “Keep your eyes closed!”

Jared quickly closed his eyes when he heard that. After what felt like an eternity, Jared’s feet finally touched ground, and the deafening roar of the wind had stopped.

“You can open your eyes now!” Flaxseed said. As Jared slowly opened his eyes, he was shocked by the sight before him. There were mountains, rivers, and lush green trees as far as the eye could see. It was as if he had been transported to a completely different location.

“W-What is this place?” Jared exclaimed in shock and disbelief. How is this a tomb? I feel like I’m in a different world or something!

Flaxseed ignored his question and quickly ran up a hill, only to look just as surprised when he gazed into the distance.

“Is this the immortal’s tomb you told me about?” Jared asked.

“This is quite an impressive layout!” Flaxseed mumbled to himself.

“What do you mean? What layout?”

Jared knew a little bit about tomb-raiding, but his knowledge was completely useless in this situation.

He was still too much of a novice to spot the layout that Flaxseed was talking about, let alone associate this scenery with a tomb.

Flaxseed flashed him a faint smile and pointed at a corner. “Look over here. You see how those mountains are overlapping one another? This scenery is clearly man-made! Whoever did this was able to manipulate nature. Not many out there are able to pull off such an amazing feat. The owner of this tomb must be a mage who specializes in metaphysics or something.”

After hearing that lengthy explanation, Jared gasped in shock as he was finally able to see what Flaxseed was talking about.

“It’s a shame this landscape has been around for a long time. The energy of heaven and earth here has mostly faded by now. Had that not been the case, it would certainly provide us with enough resources to become immortals!” Flaxseed added with a sigh.

Even if the energy of heaven and earth in the area had mostly faded, Jared could still feel the pure spiritual energy flowing into his body.

“Come on! Let’s go look for the tomb!” Flaxseed called out to him while making his way forward.

Jared followed closely behind him as he found the new environment exciting yet terrifying at the same time.

Someone capable of creating a tomb like this would surely have set traps to safeguard it. I have no idea what to expect, though…

It wasn’t until then that Jared truly realized how weak and ignorant he was.

Jared channeled his Focus Technique and absorbed the surrounding spiritual energy as the two of them made their way through the landscape.

After about half an hour of walking, they had made it deep into the mountains. Fortunately for them, the magical effects of the landscape had faded by then.

Otherwise, they could wander around for a year and still not find their bearings.

Flaxseed stopped in his tracks all of a sudden and stared at the mountain in front of him. “It should be right ahead.”

“Huh?” Jared paused and glanced at the mountain he was talking about.

In the distance, he saw a mountain peak that had been cut from the middle into a square-shaped altar. Surrounded by mountains, the “altar” looked awfully eerie.

    Chapter 1365 A Rough Time

“Thank you so much, Mr. Flaxseed! Not only have you rescued Jared, but you also did Crimson Palace a huge favor! Please allow me to express my gratitude…” Cecilia said as she prepared to kneel before Flaxseed.

Flaxseed quickly reached out to stop her from doing so. “This is nothing worth mentioning, Lady Jingle!”

“There’s no need for you to go this far, Ms. Jingle. As a token of appreciation, I’ll let him have an extra ten percent when we split the loot later!” Jared added.

Cecilia stared at them in confusion. “Huh? Loot? What loot?”

Jared and Flaxseed exchanged glances before bursting into laughter.

“Don’t worry about it, Lady Jingle! Just let Jared do all the thanking later!” Flaxseed said as he made his way into Crimson Palace with Jared, leaving Cecilia rooted to the spot with a puzzled expression.

“Just so you know, Jared, you’re in for a rough time,” Flaxseed whispered as he walked alongside Jared.

“A rough time? What do you mean by that? Are you actually able to tell fortunes?” Jared asked in confusion.

“Hahaha! You’re bound to have lots of issues when it comes to romance! You do not wish to let any of these women down, but in doing so, you will end up hurting them all. You’re extremely popular with women, and yet, they’ll still fall deeply in love with you. The choice you make is entirely up to you. An energy cultivator must be free from the desires of the flesh in order to become an immortal. As for you, well… Good luck with that! Hahaha…” Flaxseed replied and burst out laughing as he carried on walking.

“I never said I wanted to become an immortal…” Jared mumbled to himself.

The next day, Jared told Cecilia where they were headed before entering the cave with Flaxseed.

The ground inside the cave was covered with pieces of stone after Jared and Tobias’ battle from the day before.

“How will we move these rocks out of the way?” Jared asked anxiously.

“Take it easy, buddy. For now, we’ll just sit down and get some rest,” Flaxseed replied as he sat down on a large, flat piece of stone.

Huh? If we’re going to rest, why didn’t we just do so outside the cave? What’s the point of coming all the way in here just to get some rest?

Jared had no idea what was going on, but he did as told and sat down on a nearby stone anyway. He then lit a cigarette and handed Flaxseed another.

Flaxseed politely declined his offer and pulled out a tobacco pipe from his back pocket.

The two of them then puffed away as they watched the clear water flowing out of the cave wash the stones away.

About ten minutes later, Flaxseed put his tobacco pipe away and said, “All right, it’s time to get to work!”

He pulled out a stack of talismans and scribbled something on them. Soon, the inside of the cave was covered in talismans.

With the final talisman in his hand, Flaxseed turned toward Jared and asked, “Could you lend me some of your blood?”

    “My blood?”

Jared was confused, but did as told and bit down on his finger anyway.

Flaxseed then drew a circle on the talisman with Jared’s blood and quickly pasted it on the giant boulder.

    Rumble…

The entire cave began shaking violently when the final talisman came into contact with the giant boulder.

The other talismans emitted a bright light that shone on the giant boulder.

The talisman on the giant boulder turned crimson red as the shape on it was slowly imprinted on the boulder.

Soon, the entire boulder was exuding a blindingly bright light that illuminated the area around it.

“Close your eyes! Don’t open them until I tell you to!” Flaxseed shouted.

Jared quickly closed his eyes without any hesitation.

The next thing he knew, his body was descending rapidly as the cave shook even more violently.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1364

Chapter 1364 Tomb Of An Immortal

“That’s because it’s an immortal’s tomb. It contains the remains of an immortal spiritual energy cultivator, and possibly some powerful weapons as well as magical items. It’s quite possible for a tomb like that to produce pure spiritual energy,” Flaxseed explained. “An immortal’s tomb?” Jared gasped in shock.

An immortal is an individual who has reached the final stage of their cultivation. If they manage to overcome that hurdle, they will be able to ascend this mortal realm and become a true immortal. However, it is an incredibly dangerous process, and many immortals have died attempting it. Still, I can’t believe I actually discovered an immortal’s tomb! I can’t wait to get in there and see what it looks like!

“That cave has been sealed by huge boulders. I tried moving them out of the way, but I wasn’t able to. How should we move those boulders to get in?” Jared asked.

Despite being more powerful than Flaxseed, Jared was a complete novice when it came to such knowledge.

“I have my ways of getting that done, but you are currently lacking in spiritual energy, so you need to rest and recover. We’ll enter the cave together once you’re ready. It’s incredibly dangerous inside, so it’s nice to have someone from the Nascent Soul phase by my side. We’ll split the loot in half, okay?” Flaxseed said.

Jared nodded and held his right hand out as he replied, “No problem. You’ve got a deal!”

Flaxseed froze for a brief moment before letting out a chuckle as he gave Jared a high-five.

“Haha! Work with me, and I can guarantee you an infinite amount of resources! I may not be very powerful, but I am an expert when it comes to tomb exploring!” he said proudly.

Jared had no reason to doubt Flaxseed’s capabilities in the slightest. After all, Flaxseed knew about the immortal’s tomb even though he couldn’t enter due to the large boulders in the way. That alone required an insane amount of skill and knowledge in tomb exploring.

Jared then went down the mountain with Flaxseed. Cecilia already had the servants prepare the food by the time they returned to Crimson Palace.

She knew Jared would be weakened after that battle, so he would need a lot of nutrients to recover his strength.

Jared then introduced Flaxseed to Cecilia and Millie, prompting him to greet them with a smile.

Although his appearance was a little scary, he was quite a pleasant guy to talk to.

“Lady Jingle, the illusion spell here at Crimson Palace has been broken. I’ll help you guys cast a new one after dinner, okay?” Flaxseed said while chowing down on his food.

“Thank you very much, Mr. Flaxseed!” Cecilia replied with a smile.

After the meal, Flaxseed led Jared and the others outside the front door of Crimson Palace.

Flaxseed then pulled out a few talismans and uttered some chants.

The next thing they knew, dense smoke came out of the talismans and surrounded Crimson Palace entirely.

After that, Flaxseed held the talismans up to his mouth and blew at them, turning the talismans into ashes instantly.

As the smoke cleared, Jared and the others were shocked to discover that Crimson Palace had vanished before their very eyes.

Cecilia and Millie’s jaws dropped on the spot.

Jared, on the other hand, stared at Flaxseed with an impressed look on his face.

I can only cast illusion spells on a small scale. Creating a large illusion array like this would require a huge amount of mental energy.

“H-How will we find our way in, Mr. Flaxseed?” Cecilia asked as she slowly recovered from the shock.

“Oh, that’s easy!” Flaxseed replied as he raised his hand and snapped his fingers in the air.

All it took was three snaps of his fingers for Crimson Palace to reappear before them.

This illusion array was a lot stronger than the one they had before.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1363

    Chapter 1363 Energy Cultivator

The man then pulled his black mask off, revealing a face covered in pockmarks. It was none other than Flaxseed, who had given Zion two tracking talismans from Jadeborough.

After taking a closer look at his face, Jared realized he didn’t know the man at all. “I don’t know you, so why did you save me?” he asked with a frown.

“I just wanted to work together with you, that’s all,” Flaxseed replied with a faint smile. “Work together? And do what?”

Jared stared cautiously at Flaxseed. Energy cultivators like us need a huge amount of spiritual energy for our cultivation, and the world is currently facing a deficit in spiritual energy…

Jared’s eyes went wide at the thought of that. “You… Are you also here because of the cave?”

Flaxseed paused briefly in surprise before letting out a chuckle. “You sure are a smart one! Now I see why you managed to trick Zion…”

“Who are you? Tell me the truth, or I will use force!” Jared shouted while pointing Dragonslayer Sword at Flaxseed.

Even with the tip of Dragonslayer Sword inches away from his face, Flaxseed showed no fear whatsoever. “Easy there, buddy. You can call me ‘Mr. Flaxseed.’ I’ve only recently entered the Golden Core phase. You, on the other hand, have long since entered the Nascent Soul phase. Given the difference in our strengths, you could easily kill me in one strike, so you have no reason to fear me at all. I mean, what could I possibly do to hurt you? Poor Zion has no idea that he needs to completely destroy the bodies of Nascent Soul energy cultivators in order to kill them!”

Hmm… This Flaxseed guy does seem to know what he’s talking about. While he may be skilled in magecraft, he is still in the Golden Core phase. In other words, he has only recently become a Martial Arts Grandmaster. Therefore, it is impossible for him to hurt me, especially with me being on guard like this. It’d be a different story if he were to activate his arcane array and catch me by surprise, though. Tobias used up a lot of internal energy while fighting me. That, coupled with his lack of awareness, gave Mr. Flaxseed here the chance to unleash Triple Threat Array. Even so, Tobias managed to break out of Triple Threat Array, which shows that Mr. Flaxseed isn’t really powerful.

With that in mind, Jared lowered his guard and sheathed Dragonslayer Sword as he asked about spiritual energy cultivation.

Through Flaxseed’s explanation, Jared found out that energy cultivators weren’t as powerful as he had imagined.

Due to the dwindling amount of spiritual energy in the world, energy cultivators lacked the resources required to become stronger.

In fact, they were so weak that strong martial artists could easily beat them to a pulp. As a result, many energy cultivators concealed their identities to avoid trouble.

Some even traveled the world in search of areas rich in spiritual energy.

Jared had managed to reach the Nascent Soul phase in a short amount of time.

He was able to make such rapid progress thanks to his Focus Technique, which allowed him to use anything in place of spiritual energy. Not every energy cultivator was that lucky, though.

“I’ve been trapped in this phase for over ten years. I pretended to be a fortune-teller to conceal my identity as I traveled the world in search of areas rich in spiritual energy. I came across this cave three years ago, but chose not to take action back then. Had I not been forced, I probably wouldn’t have come here until a few years later,” Flaxseed said.

“What’s inside this cave? Why does the water flowing out of it contain such pure spiritual energy?” Jared asked curiously.

“It’s an ancient tomb,” Flaxseed replied.

“An ancient tomb?” Jared’s eyes went wide with shock and disbelief. “Even if an ancient tomb contains the most precious of jewelry, it still shouldn’t be capable of producing such pure spiritual energy!”
