Chapter 1382 Defeat With A Single Strike

Jared had a dominant temperament that could rule the world. At that moment, his slender figure projected an intimidating aura. In the eyes of Cecilia and the others, he was akin to a powerful fighter.

He was the epitome of an alpha male. His arrogance and domineering presence made others feel uneasy. They even had the urge to drop to their knees in worship out of fear of Jared.

The crowd was astonished to see the Dragonslayer Sword manifested in Jared’s hand. It was covered with a layer of greyish glow.

The magnificent sword made Jared look even more imposing while it buzzed loudly in his hand, shining brightly.

“Now, die!” Jared snapped and flashed his sword forward.

The sword energy soared into the air as he struck his opponent.

Instantly, he slashed everything before him into a million pieces. The sword energy headed toward Tobias, making his jaw drop and eyes widen in shock.

“T-This is spiritual sword?” Tobias asked, thunderstruck.

For a moment, he was frightened out of his wits and started shivering uncontrollably.

The moment Tobias saw Jared sway the Dragonslayer Sword in his hand, the former knew that his doomsday had arrived.

The greyish glow on the Dragonslayer Sword was rather intimidating.

Terrorized, Tobias wanted to beg for mercy.

Unfortunately, the sword energy overpowered him, leaving him with no chance to speak up.

As the sword energy penetrated through Tobias’ neck, blood spewed everywhere. The huge impact created by the assault hurled his head out of his body, and it fell onto the ground with a loud thud. Then, it rolled to where the Rider family was standing.

They freaked out at that instant, finding the gory sight unbelievable.

One strike! Tobias’ head was chopped off in a single strike!

    The Riders were dumbfounded.

They could not believe that Jared could behead Tobias in a split second. To them, Tobias had always been an exceptionally skilled martial arts fanatic. He was even the head of the family that the Riders looked up to!

Tobias’ subordinates were shaken mentally and spiritually. In fact, they were scared senseless.

It did not take long for them to get on their knees and beg for mercy.

Jared kept his Dragonslayer Sword and spared Tobias’ men.

Undoubtedly, the Riders were very grateful to Jared. After collecting Tobias’ body hastily, they scurried away.

Cecilia and the rest remained in their stupor for a long while before they snapped back to their senses.

“Jared, you’re incredible! I don’t even know what words are suitable to praise you!” Millie cried out in amazement. Admiration was written all over her face.

“Keep training, and you’ll be able to reach my level one day.” Jared grinned.

“What a talented man! You’re awesome!” exclaimed Flaxseed as he stared at Jared.

Cecilia said nothing, but it was obvious that she was gazing at Jared dotingly.

Noticing her intent gaze, the man felt slightly embarrassed and helpless.

Flaxseed saw what was going on and flashed a faint smile.

The news about Jared killing Tobias went viral on the martial arts forum within a short time.

Everyone who heard the news was stunned, as no one had expected Jared to improve remarkably within days.

The news stupefied Zion the most because he was on his way to the Southwest Region, ready to get rid of Jared.

Unbeknownst to him, Jared claimed victory for ending Tobias’ life, which put him in a difficult place.

He was well aware of Tobias’ caliber, for their combat prowess was at a similar level.

Jared killed Tobias? What are the odds of me winning against Jared if I were to attack him now?

Zion was no longer as confident as before. He could not figure out why Tobias lost to Jared.

Unfortunately, it was too late for him to back down. At this point, I must kill Jared. Someone would die regardless, and it’s either him or I.

With that thought in mind, Zion carefully retrieved a black sphere from his pocket, which appeared to be covered with dark clouds. Additionally, lightning bolts were flashing across it incessantly.

    Chapter 1381 Three Strikes Combined

At that point, it strengthened Flaxseed’s resolve to foster a good relationship with Jared, no matter what. Perhaps Jared might become the most awe-inspiring person in both the martial arts world and the heavenly realm in the near future.

“What else can you do? Show me!” Jared mocked as he glared at Tobias contemptuously and smirked. The latter got all worked up. Tobias had been crazy about martial arts his entire life. He had not expected to be humiliated by a young fellow one day.

“Don’t be so smug. Today, I’ll show you what I’ve got!” Then, Tobias roared, “Soulslayer Palm!”

When his words fell, dark smoke seemingly engulfed him. Right that instant, Jared knew that Tobias was engaged in Demonic Cultivation.

Within seconds, his hands turned black, and he looked like a horrendous demon. Supposedly, Soulslayer Palm could seize a person’s life with only one strike.

Tobias was well aware that Golem Body was very sturdy. Hence, he planned to inject poison into Jared’s body and attack him from within.

Although Jared remained unfazed even when faced with the Soulslayer Palm, his body started to unleash a series of terrifying spiritual energy.

Soon, he raised his palm and pushed outward.

    Boom!

When the two palms collided, it created a thundering sound.

“How dare you challenge my Soulslayer Palm? Soon, I’ll let you meet a fate worse than death.”

Tobias curled his lips upward upon seeing Jared’s audacious move.

Unfortunately, that smile of his faded in the following second.

That was because he realized that Jared’s unremarkable attack actually contained the power of three punches combined.

Moreover, one blow was more potent than the other.

The first layer counteracted Tobias’ Soulslayer Palm’s force within seconds, whereas the second layer directed the toxic energy back to Tobias. Unbelievably, the third layer penetrated Tobias’ body and corroded his arteries almost immediately.

    Boom!

The impact of Jared’s strike sent Tobias sprawling away. His body and face turned black like coal.

“You… You…” Blood gushed out of Tobias’ mouth as he struggled to speak.

He gaped at Jared in utter surprise while pointing a finger at him.

Suddenly, a realization dawned on him. He had no means of fighting Jared at all.

He could not bring himself to accept the distinctive disparity between their combat prowess.

A few days ago, he was able to defeat Jared effortlessly. Ironically, he was rendered paralyzed a few days later, unable to fight back. No one could accept such a twist of fate.

“You will reap what you sow, you Demonic Cultivator,” Jared stated coldly.

“Mr. Rider…” Panic-stricken, the subordinates of the Rider family hurried over.

They felt so lost, not knowing how to respond to the situation.

Tobias stared daggers at Jared, seething with rage.

“Jared, I’ve mastered Soulslayer Palm. Do you think you could end my life with the poison cultivated from the technique?”

As soon as Tobias said that, his palms flashed with red light and started hitting his abdomen ruthlessly.

    Thud! Thud! Thud!

He continued the action thrice before spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Looking at how Tobias forced the poisonous blood out of his own body, Jared was somewhat taken aback.

“Since the poison couldn’t send you to hell, I’ll do it personally. One move is all I need to end your worthless life!” Jared uttered maliciously as he glared at Tobias.

“Rubbish! You’re too full of yourself. I can’t wait to see how you could kill me with just one move,” bellowed Tobias.

Shortly after, he bit his tongue hard and spat out a mouthful of blood essence.

    “Earthshaker!”

Tobias adjusted his position and thrust his palm out.

    Rumble!

Unexpectedly, the ground began to crack, as countless rocks, coupled with a power that could rip space apart, were headed for Jared.

Tobias’ intention was obvious—he wanted to crush Jared and destroy him once and for all with his unparalleled strength.

With a smile, Jared turned his right hand outward and opened his palm. “I have a sword that can defeat anything under the sun.”

    Chapter 1380 Terrified

“Terrified?” Jared asked indifferently. “Terrified? Of what? I’m not scared of anything, especially a loser like you,” Tobias replied disdainfully.

“Since you’re not afraid, why are you using the girl as your shield? Are you bold enough to battle with me openly? Just the two of us. And nobody is allowed to lend a hand.” Jared put forward his request calmly.

“Sure! I’ll take you on single-handedly.” After saying that, Tobias pushed Millie away. Fortunately, Jared caught her and handed her over to Cecilia. “Step back, you two. I must get rid of him today.”

Cecilia stared at Jared with concern. “Please be careful.” “Don’t worry, Lady Jingle. Jared is a blessed man. Nothing untoward will happen to him.”

Flaxseed was aware of what Jared had been through for the past few days. He has made tremendous improvement! Soon, Cecilia and the others retreated, leaving Jared and Tobias on the battlefield.

“I’ll kill you today!” announced Jared as he cast a look at Tobias. “Hmph! It’s still too early to claim victory.”

With that, Tobias exuded a massive malicious aura. Instantly, the surroundings looked as if a whirlwind was passing by, causing the crowd’s clothes to flap noisily in the air.

The earth shook unexpectedly while the pebbles were swept off the ground and into the air, enveloping the sky and blocking out the sun.

Even so, Jared remained unperturbed as he stood there, looking composed and did not even bat an eyelid.

“The Soaring Hawk!” Tobias exclaimed before jumping into the air like a magnificent eagle.

He loomed over Jared for a moment before launching an attack on his head.

    Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

His hand whooshed in the air with a petrifying whiz.

Each strike was so powerful that it was sufficient to punch through at least five big holes in any layer of metal walls.

Jared calmly lifted his head, moved his palms, and delivered a menacing blow at his opponent.

    Huff!

Suddenly, an insane gust of howling wind swirled from his move and turned into a violent hurricane.

Jared’s palm was smashed into Tobias’ following a sickening thud.

Instantly, the impact of the strong force was so immense that it made the latter imbalance.

    Startled, Tobias stumbled backward.

He gazed at Jared incredulously, his eyes full of disbelief.

It has only been several days, but Jared’s strength has improved significantly!

Even though Tobias did not exert all of his strength to hit Jared, he was taken aback by how easily Jared dodged the attack.

    “The Kracken!”

Subsequently, Tobias crisscrossed his palms across his chest, releasing several transparent claw energies, which he directed at Jared.

The sharp glow from the ferocious ball of energy glinted across the air and produced a deafening noise.

Within moments, the claw energy appeared in front of Jared.

This time, Jared did not move a muscle. A ray of golden beam emanated from his body, and scales started forming all over him.

With that, he had activated Golem Body.

It was a blinding sight, as his Golem Body was even brighter and more dazzling when compared to the sunlight.

    Ding! Ding! Ding!

Tobias started striking Jared with his powerful claw energy, leaving multiple white marks on the latter’s Golem Body. Yet, he still could not break through the Golem Body.

    Tobias was utterly flabbergasted.

How many days has it been? How did Jared improve his caliber all of a sudden? Tobias could not wrap his head around it.

Cecilia and the others, who were standing nearby, were also shocked to the core.

The table has completely turned within days! From the way Jared fights, he seems to be able to defeat Tobias now.

Flaxseed was the only one with sparkles in his eyes. Staring at Jared intently, he mumbled, “This man isn’t an ordinary person. He’s not a mere mortal…”

    Chapter 1379 Too Arrogant

Cecilia went pale when she spotted Tobias standing before her. Everyone else also blanched in horror. Millie hid behind Cecilia fearfully.

“Where is Jared Chance? I want to see him now and the person who ambushed me. Tell them to come out. Now!” Tobias roared angrily.

“Jared isn’t here,” Cecilia replied in a trembling voice.

“Nonsense! I sent my men to keep an eye on Crimson Palace. Jared never left!” Tobias glared at her. “You’d better ask him to come out now, or I shall tear Crimson Palace down!” he declared arrogantly.

As his words fell, he unleashed a horrifying aura that engulfed everyone in Crimson Palace. The pressure from a Martial Arts Marquis was too horrendous.

At once, a few weak disciples of Crimson Palace spat out blood and collapsed to the ground. Cecilia released her aura to go against Tobias’ strong aura, but she was no match for Tobias even though she had done her best.

In the blink of an eye, her resistance was crushed into pieces. “Let me repeat myself. Tell Jared to come out,” Tobias ordered icily. Cecilia insisted, “Jared isn’t in Crimson Palace. I-I’m telling the truth. You can search the place if you don’t trust me.”

There was no way Cecilia could summon Jared, for she did not even know where he was.

“Ha! Trying to deceive me, huh?” Tobias snorted.

He then emerged before Cecilia in a flash and grabbed her throat.

Cecilia could not breathe, and her cheeks turned crimson red.

“Let Cecilia go!” Seeing that, Millie rushed forward and slapped Tobias, hard.

A cold gleam appeared in Tobias’ eyes as he sent Millie flying with a mere wave, resulting in the latter spewing out blood and crashing onto the ground.

    “Millie!” Cecilia screamed in shock.

Seeing her reaction, Tobias realized she cared a lot about her sister. He ended up releasing her and promptly sucked Millie over with his energy.

“Cecilia, you’d better summon Jared right now. Otherwise, there is no telling what I’ll do to your sister,” he warned.

To everyone’s shock, he leaned down and sniffed Millie’s neck.

A frightened Millie started struggling with all her might as she cried helplessly.

“No, no!” Cecilia hollered in despair. Her eyes were filled with helplessness and fear.

She was not afraid of dying, but there was no way she would watch as her sister got harmed right before her eyes!

“If you don’t want her to get hurt, get Jared to come out now!” Tobias gave his final warning, his patience wearing thin.

Covering her face, Cecilia sobbed helplessly. She was at a loss about what to do.

    Where can I find Jared?

At her most dejected moment, a hand patted her shoulder gently.

Despite her shock, Cecilia felt a familiar sensation.

She whipped her head up to see Jared giving her a comforting look.

“Jared!” Cecilia threw herself into Jared’s arms.

    Finally, help was here.

Jared patted her silky hair in a comforting manner to calm her down.

“Jared, you finally have the guts to show yourself, huh?” Tobias roared furiously.

“Let Millie go. Otherwise, I’ll make your life a living hell,” Jared told him, his voice as cold as ice.

Hearing that, Tobias burst out laughing. “Ha! Look how arrogant you are! If you hadn’t gotten help from someone who ambushed me, I would’ve taken your life, and you would’ve been dead by now! Stop boasting!”

    Chapter 1378 Collapse

Naturally, Jared was delighted. After making sure Jared was all right, Flaxseed glanced around. Besides the white marble chair, there was nothing else there.

“This is strange. Is there anything special about this white marble throne?” Flaxseed said as he plopped down on the throne. “No!” Jared thundered to stop Flaxseed.

His previous experience nearly tortured him to death, so he did not want Flaxseed to experience the same thing, too. Alas, it was too late. Flaxseed had already sat down.

After sitting down, Flaxseed moved around a few times, but nothing out of the ordinary happened. No light shone on him. As nothing happened, Jared heaved a sigh of relief. Looks like the white marble chair can only be activated once.

“Jared, what happened when you sat down earlier?” Flaxseed inquired. Jared did not want to lie to him, so he honestly revealed everything he saw to Flaxseed.

After hearing that, Flaxseed gaped incredulously. “Let me look at your sword,” he requested. That was the first time he had ever heard of something like this.

Jared obediently handed Dragonslayer Sword to Flaxseed. Once Flaxseed’s hand came in contact with the sword, it started buzzing loudly. Flaxseed immediately tossed it away.

“D*mn it! Why is it burning? I almost got scalded!” he declared in surprise.

Confused, Jared picked Dragonslayer Sword up and did not find anything wrong with it.

“It isn’t burning,” Jared uttered as he gave the sword to Flaxseed again.

This time, Flaxseed dared not take the sword. Waving his hands, he stated, “Forget it. Looks like lady luck is on your side. I got nothing here this time.”

He did not bother hiding his disappointment. When they used the Verdant Ganoderma to cultivate, Jared absorbed all the spiritual energy. Now, Jared even inherited a sword technique and got a sword spirit!

I got nothing and was even wounded earlier. What a huge loss!

Jared flashed an awkward smile. “Should we continue searching around? There might be magical items elsewhere.” He tried to comfort Flaxseed.

Before Flaxseed could say anything, they both heard a loud rumble.

The entire ancient tomb started shaking violently.

“Oh, no. It is going to collapse! We need to leave now.” Flaxseed’s expression changed.

    He immediately led Jared out.

Back in Crimson Palace, Cecilia and the rest were on full alert.

The entire Crimson Palace was shaking, but she had no idea what was going on.

“Cecilia, is there an earthquake?” Millie asked.

“I’m not sure. Everyone, be careful,” Cecilia remarked sternly.

She was not worried that something would happen to Crimson Palace. On the contrary, she was worried about Jared. They went in a couple of days ago but hadn’t come out yet. The place is shaking, so I’m afraid he’s in trouble.

Fortunately, the shaking soon came to a stop.

A ripple spread across the illusion spell that Flaxseed placed in Crimson Palace.

At once, Cecilia’s jaw dropped in shock, for that meant that someone was trying to break through the illusion spell outside to barge into Crimson Palace.

“There’s an intruder! Put your guards up!” Cecilia barked out an order.

Every disciple in Crimson Palace immediately went on full alert.

    Boom!

The illusion spell was soon destroyed, exposing Crimson Palace to the naked eye.

Outside the door, Tobias and his men were waiting to attack Crimson Palace.

After Tobias got wounded by the ambush when he was fighting against Jared, he could barely tamp down his fury.

The moment his body recovered completely, he immediately came all the way here to avenge himself. He wanted to take revenge against Jared.

  • A Man Like None Other Chapter 1377

    Chapter 1377 Become One

Soon, Jared’s body trembled as sweat poured down his back. With his eyes shut, he shivered violently as his expression turned dark. Downstairs, Flaxseed grew nervous when he saw Jared covered in the light. Jared looked like a king, and Flaxseed felt the urge to get on his knees to worship him.

A while later, Jared stopped trembling but remained bathed in the light. Slowly, a familiar scene appeared again. Jared realized the swordsman with a magic sword on his back had returned. He was caught off guard by a revolting stench that filled his nostrils.

He was delighted. Previously, he only caught a glimpse of the swordsman before Flaxseed pulled him out. Thus, he wanted to take a good look at the swordsman.

The swordsman pulled out his sword as nine shadow clones appeared. The following scene shocked Jared senseless. However, the swordsman swung his sword and fought against his own nine shadow clones.

He did not hold back and fought with all his might. Jared gazed at the swordsman intently despite having no idea what was going on. Soon, the swordsman killed the nine shadow clones.

Needless to say, Jared was dumbfounded. He could not understand why the swordsman would do that. He was at a loss when the swordsman turned around. His cool gaze bore into Jared.

Glancing around, Jared realized there was nothing beside him. The swordsman was staring at him. “Y-You can see me?” he asked in surprise.

The swordsman said nothing, but Jared’s body started reacting. Despite not summoning the Dragonslayer Sword, it flew out of his body.

Flames surrounded the Dragonslayer Sword as it suspended midair, buzzing loudly.

The swordsman tossed his sword away, and both swords met midair.

Soon, the swords merged together and became one sword.

The flames on the Dragonslayer Sword disappeared, replaced by a greyish glow.

The moment both swords merged, the swordsman disappeared suddenly as though he had never shown up.

The Dragonslayer Sword returned to Jared, and he caught it easily.

When his hand wrapped around the Dragonslayer Sword, countless sword techniques overwhelmed and filled Jared’s mind.

“Ah!” He jolted up from the throne and toppled to the ground.

Wrapping his hands around his head, he let out an anguished yell as though his head was about to burst.

Upon seeing such a scene, Flaxseed instantly ran up the stairs.

In doing so, he discovered that the restrictive energy was gone.

Thus, Flaxseed ran up the stairs and soon reached the top.

The color had drained out of Jared’s face, and he was drenched in sweat. When his head was stuffed with all the information, Jared finally quietened down.

“Jared, what happened?” Flaxseed asked as he pulled Jared to his feet.

Jared was forced to stand up. The excruciating pain was still attacking his mind, but it was not that bad anymore.

“I’m fine.” Jared shook his head. He then sent a spiritual sense into the Dragonslayer Sword.

To his surprise, there was a sword spirit within the Dragonslayer Sword. It might still be young, but with careful training, the Dragonslayer Sword would soon become a spiritual tool.

Dragonslayer Sword was one with Jared, but it was hard to control, as it did not have a mind of its own.

Now that there was a sword spirit within Dragonslayer Sword, it could gain a mind of its own when the sword spirit became mature.

It meant that Jared had one more helper that would always be by his side.

    Chapter 1376 Nothing

“Mr. Flaxseed!” Jared hurried forward to help him up. “T-This restrictive energy is too powerful,” Flaxseed commented as his expression turned grim. “Get some rest. I’ll walk up the stairs,” Jared offered.

Before he could leave, Flaxseed stopped him hastily and stuck a charm on his body. “Be careful. The further you go, the stronger the restrictive energy is. If you can’t take it any longer, come down. No matter how valuable the treasure is, it’s more important to stay alive,” Flaxseed reminded him.

Jared put on a solemn expression and nodded gravely. He took a deep breath before placing his foot on the first step.

At once, his body began glowing, signaling that his Golem Body had taken effect to defend him against the horrifying power.

As Jared’s strength increased, his Golem Body would glow brighter.

Flaxseed grew increasingly nervous as he stared at Jared—he had no idea whether the latter was strong enough to climb to the top of the stairs.

With the help of the charm stuck to his body and the defense of Golem Body, Jared was able to walk in a swift manner without any restrictions.

He soon picked up speed as though the restriction was useless against him.

“Oh, what a talented man!” Flaxseed sighed as he stared at Jared’s back.

Halfway up the stairs, Jared slowed down without warning.

His legs began trembling, and cold sweat formed on his brows. He seemed to have difficulty walking forward.

    Boom!

Suddenly, the charm on Jared’s body erupted into flames and was soon burned to ashes.

Clenching his jaw, Jared continued going up the stairs.

He soon reached the seventieth step.

By then, Jared was already bowing. Every step he took left a deep imprint on the stairs.

Jared felt as if a mountain was pinning him down, and he was suffocating.

Even so, he did not stop as he gritted his teeth and persisted.

When Jared arrived at the ninetieth step, his Golem Body exploded into pieces and disappeared. His muscles were exposed to the air, bearing the surmounting pressure.

There were only nine steps left, but Jared felt as if his entire body was about to get crushed.

His eyes turned bloodshot as he started charging ahead.

The sweat trickled down his body and turned red as it mixed with his blood.

Jared was shuddering violently. It took him all his might to take one step.

Seeing how tough it was, Flaxseed yelled hastily, “Jared, if you can’t hold on, come down!”

However, Jared clenched his jaw and moved forward as though he had not heard Flaxseed at all.

His blood flowed to the ground and left a trail behind him.

    “Ah!”

It was the final step, and Jared felt as though his blood was boiling. His veins were about to get crushed.

Letting out a thunderous roar, he released all his spiritual energy.

Suddenly, Jared stumbled and fell on the top of the stairs.

At once, all the pressure disappeared. Jared’s muscles started contracting swiftly as the pressure was now gone.

Lying on the ground, he gasped for fresh air.

Shortly after, Jared rose to his feet slowly. He glanced at the white marble throne and saw two realistic dragon carvings on it. That was it.

The throne was one with the stairs, so it was impossible to take it away.

“Jared, are there any magical items up there?” Flaxseed asked loudly when he saw Jared standing up.

Jared shook his head. “There’s nothing except for the throne.”

“This shouldn’t be happening. This is the last structure, so there must be a magical item here!” Flaxseed furrowed his brows and fell into deep thought.

Caressing the white marble throne gently, Jared sat down on it out of curiosity.

    Boom!

A terrifying flash of light came down from the ceiling when Jared sat down and covered him completely.

    Chapter 1375 Treasure

“Where are we going? This is like a maze,” Jared exclaimed. “Just follow me,” came Flaxseed’s answer. He then pulled out a palm-sized geomantic compass and allowed a drop of his blood to fall onto it.

At once, the geomantic compass began spinning wildly. Its pointer soon stopped and indicated a direction. Seeing that, Flaxseed went in the direction the geomantic compass indicated.

Without hesitation, Jared went after him closely and released his spiritual sense to search the area. He refused to put his guard down. After passing through six or seven caves, they finally arrived at a square. Jared’s eyes narrowed at the sight.

There was an entrance right ahead with a restrictive energy that stopped them from advancing. Something glinted across Flaxseed’s eyes when he spotted the entrance. In a low voice, he muttered, “This should be it.”

“We found it?” Jared exclaimed excitedly.

Flaxseed nodded. “This should be the Eclipse structure.”

Hearing that, Jared balled up his fists. He could barely tamp down his enthusiasm.

    “Come, let’s head in!”

Jared was elated to find such a tomb.

He did not know what magical item they would find inside or what was lying in wait for them. He also had no idea if it was dangerous.

It was impossible for such a tomb to have no restrictions.

However, the treasures inside were definitely better than the Verdant Ganoderma.

Flaxseed bobbed his head and stepped forward while reminding Jared to stay behind him instead of wandering around.

Inside the stone cave, Flaxseed put his hands behind his back. Calmly, he started examining the structure. Indeed, this was the Seven Stars Eclipse. The final structure was Eclipse.

It was a majestic stone cave with carved beams and painted rafters. There were also some immortal statues that they did not recognize.

The rows of immortal statues went all the way to the top of the structure.

Ninety-nine jade steps led up to a white marble throne on top.

    The place was otherwise empty.

The throne was protected by a strong restrictive energy. Thus, ordinary people could not go up the stairs.

The path leading to the throne did not seem accessible to ordinary people, too.

After glancing around the place, Jared asked, “Is this it? There isn’t anything here. Where are the treasures?” His voice was tinged with disappointment.

Flaxseed’s eyes widened in disbelief as he gazed at the throne.

“The Seven Stars Eclipse forms a tomb of an immortal. There must be a treasure on top of the throne!” he declared. His voice was trembling from anticipation.

As if he had lost his mind, Flaxseed beamed and ran toward the throne.

He had just placed one foot on the stairs when his body trembled. It felt like a horrifying burst of energy was heading toward him.

Flaxseed’s heart sank as he quickly whipped out a charm and drew something on it.

    “Breeze Charm!”

After sticking the charm on his body, he promptly turned as light as air. The enormous pressure had disappeared.

Flaxseed hurried up the stairs. He had just taken a few steps when the pressure rendered him unmoving again.

Flaxseed did not expect to be forced to get to his knees. A crack then appeared on the stairs.

The charm on Flaxseed’s body burst into flames and was burned to ashes.

At once, Flaxseed could not even raise his head from the enormous pressure.

Nevertheless, he gritted his teeth and got to his feet. He then forced himself to take another step forward.

Right after he took one step, the terrifying power attacked him again. Flaxseed could not regain his balance and was sent flying out, resulting in his body crashing to the ground.

Fortunately, he did not go too far. Flaxseed spewed out a mouthful of blood from the impact of the attack.

    Chapter 1374 Make It Up

Three days had passed in the immortal’s tomb. Flaxseed gazed at Jared in resignation after he realized he could not cultivate when Jared was around.

Just like a huge vacuum machine, Jared had absorbed all the spiritual energy into his body. It had only been three days, but the Verdant Ganoderma was all dried up. The spiritual soil had turned dark brown, as its spiritual energy was all used up.

Initially, Flaxseed thought it would take at least one month, but Jared managed to absorb the spiritual energy from the Verdant Ganoderma and the spiritual soil in just three days.

Finally, Flaxseed understood why Jared was this powerful at a young age. His technique was too horrifying! Right then, Jared slowly opened his eyes and exhaled sharply at the sight of the withered Verdant Ganoderma.

With the help of the Verdant Ganoderma and spiritual soil, he got to increase one level in Martial Arts Marquis. As of now, Jared was a Second Level Martial Arts Marquis.

“Mr. Flaxseed, how much time has since passed?” Jared asked since Flaxseed was staring at him intently.

    “Three days,” Flaxseed snapped.

“Three days?” Jared had no idea the Verdant Ganoderma’s spiritual energy would be exhausted this fast. “Didn’t you say it can last for at least one month?”

“It can last one month for an ordinary energy cultivator, but you are different. What sort of technique are you practicing? It’s really horrifying! Just like a vacuum cleaner, you absorbed all the spiritual energy. I didn’t even get anything!” Flaxseed roared.

Jared was embarrassed to hear that.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t think too much about it. When we get out of here, I’ll give you some herbs as compensation,” he offered awkwardly.

“There’s no need to wait till then. I want most of the treasures we get here,” Flaxseed announced.

“There are other treasures?” Jared could not hide his surprise. “Isn’t this Verdant Ganoderma a treasure? I thought this is a fake tomb. Why are there other treasures lying around?”

Jared assumed the Verdant Ganoderma was the only treasure in this tomb.

Flaxseed replied, “Even if this is a fake tomb, the Verdant Ganoderma isn’t the only treasure here. You’re underestimating the potential of an immortal!”

Having said that, Flaxseed leaped up and headed to the shore.

Jared could not contain his excitement as he went after Flaxseed.

I can’t believe there are other treasures within the fake tomb!

“This is a Seven Stars Eclipse structure. The Seven Stars are not worth mentioning. The most important part is the last structure, Eclipse. This is a tomb, but not a real one. It is one of the seven fake tombs. However, the Verdant Ganoderma isn’t the only treasure here. We can find the most valuable treasure in the last structure,” Flaxseed explained patiently.

What? A Verdant Ganoderma is the least valuable magical item in this fake tomb? That means the magical items in the real tomb must be incredible!

Jared got all excited and vowed to find the real tomb if the opportunity arose.

Nevertheless, he knew finding the actual tomb would be extremely difficult.

Jared was still interested in the Eclipse structure of the fake tomb.

Flaxseed led Jared across the vast tomb. Despite his experience, Flaxseed was shocked at how huge it was.

In his years as a tomb raider, he had never seen such an enormous tomb.

Flaxseed ignored everything else as though he was sure about his destination. Jared was confused when he skipped all the other structures and strode ahead in determination.

Does Flaxseed know where the final Eclipse structure is?

    Chapter 1373 Do His Best

“An immortal?” Zion’s eyes widened as a disbelieving expression crossed his face. Could Jared be…

Zion’s heart thumped furiously as his expression changed. Right then, two men wearing metal masks came in. Zion paled when he spotted them.

“Zion Zeigler, how could you embarrass the alliance when you are the president? Tanner is upset. How dare you lie to him? Do you know what you did wrong?” one of them questioned coldly. Zion’s legs nearly gave up on him.

He could barely stand on his feet as he replied hastily, “Sirs, I did kill Jared previously. I didn’t lie! It’s just a rumor that he’s still alive. I’ll investigate the matter now. If he’s still alive, I won’t let him escape. I promise to chop his head off and hand it to Tanner.”

His voice was trembling as he gave him their word.

Letting out a snort, the law enforcers replied, “Tanner is displeased with your actions, so watch it. This is your last chance.”

With that said, they spun on their heels and left.

After the law enforcers left, Zion hurried to the slum in the outskirts of Jadeborough where Flaxseed’s house was.

When he arrived at Flaxseed’s house, the door was locked. There was no one inside. “D*mn it, he escaped!” he cursed angrily.

Meanwhile, at the Deragon residence in Jadeborough, Ryker wore a grim expression.

He had been upset ever since he discovered that his son was possessed by a spirit.

“Dad, you’re right. Jared is still alive! Looks like I can get my revenge now!” Edgar was delighted to learn that Jared was still alive.

“Edgar, Jared’s strength has improved a lot. Even Zion couldn’t kill him, so you shouldn’t underestimate him!” Ryker reminded him.

“Don’t worry, Dad. Jared might’ve improved considerably, but I’m improving at a rapid speed, too. I hope you can find some martial arts expert for me to help me in my training,” Edgar responded.

Ryker knew what Edgar meant—the latter wanted to absorb other people’s power to improve his own strength.

However, Edgar will definitely attract Mr. Sanders’ attention if he absorbs the martial artists’ power in Jadeborough to increase his own strength. I remember Mr. Sanders mentioning this specifically in the meeting not long ago.

Nevertheless, he knew this was the only way for Edgar to take revenge. Otherwise, Edgar would never get to kill Jared.

“Okay. We can’t rush this, but I’ll think of a way to organize a training session. You can do whatever you want to do there,” Ryker said calmly.

“Thank you, my dear dad,” responded Edgar, guffawing loudly before he left.

On the other hand, Ryker seemed stumped. If he wanted to start a training session, the Warriors Alliance would not provide the location. Thus, the Deragons would have to provide the location themselves.

The location would have to be attractive enough. Ryker was reluctant to part with a valuable resource, but he had no choice.

I’ll have to do my best for Edgar’s sake.

With that thought in mind, Ryker got to his feet and went to contact the other families. He would need their help to organize a training session.

He also had to send a formal request to the Warriors Alliance and receive Mr. Sanders’ approval. There were many complicated steps.

Most importantly, Ryker could not let any big shots join the training session. It would cause a commotion if they were to join the training but ended up dying inside.

Some might even suspect the Deragon family for organizing the training. Thus, Ryker had to come up with a thorough plan before deciding on the location and candidates.

Because of this, he felt as if his head was about to explode.
