Chapter 800 Keep an Eye Out
While speaking, Nicholas had already sat next to Tessa with Gregory in his arms.
Tessa looked at the smiling father and son in front of him, then spread his hands helplessly. “Greg is too smart. I lost more than he did.”
“It’s okay. I’ll help you beat him.” Nicholas held Tessa’s hand to comfort her.
Gregory was, of course, challenged at this, and the family continued to play in the living room. After a while, Gregory’s excited and triumphant voice sounded in the living room. Andrew was beside him, and seeing such a happy picture, he was very happy for all of them.
Finally, this home no longer felt deserted.
Later, when Gregory went to the bathroom, Nicholas hugged Tessa and asked, “How did going to see your brother this afternoon go?”
“It’s fine; everything is going well for the company,” Tessa said vaguely, then thought of the girl she saw next to her brother.
She couldn’t help but mention, “Although my brother said that that girl is all right, I can’t help but worry. I’m afraid that she’ll be the same as Yvette before.”
“In that case, I’ll help you keep an eye out for that girl.” Nicholas looked down at the wife in his arms with an unbelievably gentle expression.
Tessa was so moved that she wrapped her arms around Nicholas’ waist and whispered, “It’s nice to have you.”
Nicholas smiled and raised his hand to help her brush the messy dark hair away from her cheeks.
The two snuggled together, and the air was full of sweetness. After a while, Nicholas seemed to have thought of something and asked, “You have been away for so long. Did the orchestra let you go back?”
“No.” Tessa shook her head slightly, saying, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, just asking casually.” Nicholas made it sound casual, but his eyes sank slightly.
Unfortunately, Tessa did not see it. Instead, she sighed and said faintly, “I hear from Mona that Miss Hathaway hasn’t come back yet. It seems that she is still in Yvetlava dealing with Kathleen.”
“Don’t overthink it; Kathleen brought it all on her own.” Nicholas heard the worry in Tessa’s tone and persuaded her.
Tessa nodded, feeling that Nicholas was actually thinking too much about her. Up to now, the injury on his body had not healed, so why was he worried about her instead of himself?
After a while, Gregory came back, and the family continued to play chess.
At this time, Andrew came over respectfully. “Master Nicholas, Miss Tessa, dinner is ready.”
“Come and eat,” Nicholas said, putting down the chess piece in his hand as he led Tessa toward the dining hall.
During dinner, Tessa’s appetite was very good, and the symptoms of her severe morning sickness had been relieved a lot recently.
“Mommy, try this.” Gregory served Tessa with vegetables wisely and sensibly.
Tessa thanked him, feeling the warmth spread through her. Nicholas also thoughtfully peeled the shrimps for her. The family of three ate the meal happily.
After eating, Nicholas took Tessa for a walk in the garden to digest food. He looked at his wife, who looked much better, and suddenly said, “It’s been a long time since the last check-up. I’ll take you to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow.”
Tessa heard it and agreed.
She hadn’t been back to Vienna recently, so the maternity check-up couldn’t be delayed.
After the walk, Tessa took Gregory back to shower first. It was already more than an hour later after she coaxed the little boy to go back to sleep.
At this time, Nicholas had already taken a bath and was sitting on the bed reading a foreign language magazine.
After Tessa took a bath, she walked over with the ointment. “I’ll apply the medicine for you.”
Nicholas nodded and took off his bathrobe. Under the light, the man’s wheat-colored chest was sturdy and very beautiful. The only flaw was that the scar on the shoulder ruined the whole perfect look.
“The wound has scabbed over, and it won’t take long before it is completely healed.” Tessa stroked the wound on Nicholas’ shoulder with a relieved smile on her face.
After all, this was the day she looked forward to the most.
Nicholas felt the joy coming from his wife, and as if he was infected with it, the corners of his mouth rose too.
