Chapter 733 First Child
Tessa tightly grabbed the sheets on the bed, feeling the pressure.
“It’s not that I don’t want our child; it’s just that this child wasn’t in my plan. My career is still on the rise, and I don’t think I’ve reached my highest potential yet. That’s why I’m in a mess.”
Nicholas looked at Tessa, who seemed to be releasing everything she had been thinking about. Surprisingly, he was quite calm as though he also understood Tessa’s thoughts.
Even so, he was angry at Tessa for not telling him such big news in the first place.
He had a feeling of being distrusted, and another thought popped up in his mind.
“I have a question for you.”
“What is it?” Tessa looked up at the man.
Nicholas looked back at her with deep eyes. “Since this isn’t part of your plan and you didn’t want to tell me about it, were you planning to secretly abort the child?”
“No.” Tessa immediately shook her head in denial.
Nicholas’ eyes flickered, and he said coldly, “But that’s how you felt just now, and you didn’t intend to keep it either, so you chose to hide it.”
“Nicholas, I really didn’t mean that. Believe me.” Tessa looked at Nicholas sincerely, hoping that he could believe in her.
The man’s heart softened for a moment, but thinking of what Tessa had done during this time, he suppressed it. He took a deep breath, turned his back against Tessa, then said solemnly with some anger, “I don’t care what you think. Since you don’t want to have this child, don’t give birth to it. Go and abort the child.”
After speaking, he slammed the door and walked away.
Meanwhile, Tessa looked in the direction where Nicholas disappeared and felt extremely miserable.
“I really didn’t mean that. It just felt rather sudden, and I didn’t come to my senses for a time,” she muttered to herself while sitting on the bed, her tears falling like pearls breaking off a string.
Moreover, she herself was reluctant to give up the child. No matter what, this was her and Nicholas’ first child.
After Nicholas left, he went directly to his study.
He sat at the desk with a cold and frightening face, and the air around him seemed to have frozen.
Speaking of which, this was the first time they had quarreled since they got together.
He got angry when he thought that if he hadn’t come, Tessa wouldn’t have told him about the pregnancy. Worse, she might’ve even secretly aborted his child. The more he thought about it, the madder he became. He was so infuriated that he couldn’t stop himself from taking a cigarette out from the drawer and lighting it up.
In the past, he only smoked to relieve himself when he was in a very bad mood.

Meanwhile, Tessa remained sitting on the bed.
At this moment, her emotions had calmed down, and she knew that her previous actions were indeed easy for Nicholas to misunderstand.
She began to think about how she should explain to Nicholas next.
Sebastian also saw the quarrel between the two and felt a little anxious in his heart.
He looked at the closed doors on both sides, thought for a while, then walked to the study and knocked on the door. “Master Nicholas, can I come in?”
“Come in.”
Nicholas’ cold voice sounded.
Sebastian pushed the door open and coughed twice due to the pungent smell of smoke inside.
He hurried to the window and opened it.
A gust of wind blew in, and the smell of smoke in the study dissipated significantly.
Nicholas’ thin lips parted lightly, and his voice was a little hoarse as he said, “What are you doing here?”
Sebastian thought of his purpose. Then, he immediately stood beside him respectfully and persuaded, “Master Nicholas, Miss Tessa has not been feeling well these days, and she hasn’t eaten anything for a whole day. If this continues, her body will definitely collapse, so please don’t be angry with Miss Tessa anymore.”
Hearing this, Tessa’s haggard face flashed in Nicholas’ mind, and he immediately felt distressed.
“Go to the kitchen now and have someone make some light food for Tessa.”
