“No…”.”Why don’t you see a doctor?”
“I don’t want to.”
After Tessa finished speaking, she didn’t dare to look directly at Nicholas because she had a guilty conscience. Nicholas didn’t notice that, as all his attention was devoted to the fact that she was not feeling well.
“Then have you sought out medicine?”
Hearing the man’s relentless questioning, Tessa couldn’t resist, so she gritted her teeth and said, “I can’t take medicine.”
“Why can’t you take medicine?”
Nicholas’ dark eyes were locked tightly on Tessa, his brows furrowed hard. Tessa bit her lower lip lightly, not knowing how to answer. Looking at the girl who had been silent for a long time, Nicholas couldn’t help but ask again, “What’s the matter?”
“Anyway… I just can’t take medicine!”
With this, Tessa hung up in fear though she didn’t know what she was afraid of. After all, she knew very well that even if Nicholas knew about the child, he would agree. However, she was conflicted.
She had achieved nothing in life, so could she really give birth to a child? Also, she didn’t know what to make of the entire situation. Thinking of this, Tessa hated her indecision more and more. It was also because of these that she couldn’t face Nicholas.
However, Nicholas didn’t know this. Instead, he looked at his phone, his expression darkening.
Knowing that this was something Tessa had never done before, he was very worried that something had happened to her.
Thinking of this, he immediately called the housekeeper, Kylie, over there in Vienna. “Go upstairs to check on Tessa’s situation but don’t mention me to her.”
Although Kylie felt confused, she complied. After all, she was about to go up and ask Tessa if she wanted some supper. Soon, she came to the bedroom and knocked on the door. “Miss Tessa.”
“Come in.” Tessa’s soft voice came from the door.
Nicholas was very distressed on the other end of the phone. Then the housekeeper pushed the door and went in. Seeing her, Tessa restrained her emotions and asked, “What’s the matter?”
“I saw that you didn’t eat much during dinner, so I wanted to ask if you would like a late-night snack?”
“No, I’m not hungry.”
“Okay, if you’re hungry in the middle of the night, call me anytime.”
Tessa nodded and motioned for Kylie to leave. After she went out and closed the door, she picked up the phone again and put it to his ear, saying, “Master Nicholas, she seems to be fine.”
Nicholas grunted, but the worry in his heart did not diminish.
“I want to know about Tessa’s recent health condition. Is there anything wrong?”
“Miss Tessa has been in poor health recently.” Kylie did not dare to keep it a secret and answered truthfully.
Nicholas’ face sank, and he said sternly, “Since Tessa is not well, why didn’t you report to me?”
“It’s Miss Tessa who forbids me to tell you.” She looked a little aggrieved.
When Nicholas heard that he stopped admonishing and continued to ask, “Is there anything else strange about Tessa?”
“Yes, during these days, Miss Tessa has no appetite for anything, and sometimes she vomits. I advised her to see a doctor, but she refused to go or take any medicine. I don’t know what happened to her.”
After listening to the housekeeper’s words, Nicholas was anxious, and he too, felt that Tessa had something to hide from him, so he was in a horrible mood.
At this moment, Edward knocked on the door and walked in. “President, Miss Muller is here to look for you again.”
“I’m busy!” Nicholas’ tone was irritated, and then he ordered, “Go and book a ticket to Vienna for me immediately.”
Edward was a little surprised. Why did the president suddenly want to go to Vienna? Moreover, his face is so ugly! Could it be that the president and Miss Tessa quarreled?
He let his imagination ran wild, but he did not dare to resist Nicholas and quickly asked, “Is Gregory going?”
“Just me. Go!”
With that, Nicholas had exhausted his patience, and his eyes were as sharp as blades shooting at Edward.
