Chapter 724 No Repentance at All
“Physical cooling? Why didn’t the doctor prescribe some medicine?”
Nicholas noticed the issue immediately and frowned in displeasure, thinking that the doctor was a little undependable.
Tessa’s eyes flickered. “The doctor said that my health is a little weak, so it’s not suitable for me to take too much medicine.”
Hearing this, Nicholas didn’t suspect anything anymore. He looked at the woman’s pale face in the video, then said distressingly, “Have a good rest when you go back. I have asked the Kylie to get the hot water ready for you at home.”
Tessa nodded. She looked at the man’s concerned expression, then hesitated.
“What’s wrong?” Nicholas noticed the abnormality and asked in confusion, “Do you have anything else to say?”
“Nothing.”
Tessa froze for a moment and then shook her head with a smile on the corner of her mouth.
Forget it. I’ll tell him when I’ve decided what to say about the child.
Nicholas didn’t know what was going on. He thought that Tessa was really fine, so he hung up the phone after giving some more advice.
When Tessa got home, the Kylie had already received the news and was at the door with the maid. When she saw Tessa coming back, she immediately ordered the maid to step forward to help Tessa, who did not refuse. She was really uncomfortable at the moment, and her head was woozy.
After a simple bath, she lay in bed but couldn’t fall asleep.
Later, her condition became serious. Her head felt worse, and she had a dry mouth. Thus, she walked out of the room weakly, planning to go downstairs to pour a glass of water for herself.
At this time, the Kylie was still awake, so when she heard the movement and came over, she saw Tessa with a flushed face and was anxious.
“Miss Tessa, why is your face so red? Are you still having a fever?” Tessa nodded slightly.
“Then I’ll get you some medication.”
With that said, she was about to leave when Tessa hurriedly stopped her. “No need. I’ll just sleep it off.”
She was pregnant with a child now and couldn’t take medicine indiscriminately, but the housekeeper didn’t know this. Seeing Tessa’s refusal to take medicine, she said anxiously, “Miss Tessa, you can’t get better without taking medicine in this situation.”
She wanted to persuade Tessa to take medicine, but no matter what she said, Tessa refused and said it was fine.
In the end, the Kylie had no choice but to call the maid to take care of Tessa.
On Hathaway’s side, after knowing that Tessa was all right, she finally felt relieved. She thought of what happened tonight; if she hadn’t discovered it early, who knew what would happen to Tessa in the end? Hence, she called the staff of the orchestra over in anger.
“What’s the matter with you? Why did you lock the door to the practice room and turn on the air conditioner?”
After being reprimanded, the staff felt extremely aggrieved. “Miss Hathaway, when I left, I saw that Miss Reinhart was still training inside. So, I didn’t lock the door at all, and I didn’t turn on the air conditioner.”
“Did you really not do that?”
Hathaway looked at the staff suspiciously.
The staff almost swore to God. “Miss Hathaway, it was really not me.”
Hathaway frowned, feeling a little odd. If the door was not locked by the staff, who else could it be?
Thinking about it, she went to the surveillance room and planned to check the surveillance cameras to have a look. Unexpectedly, she saw that her daughter was the one locking the door on the surveillance camera, and suddenly anger surged up in her.
“How dare Kathleen?”
She glared angrily at her daughter in the video, thinking that Kathleen had gone too far this time.
After returning home, she went directly to Kathleen’s room and knocked on the door.
“Mommy, why are you knocking on my door in the middle of the night?”
Kathleen appeared behind the door in her nightgown, yawning.
Seeing her like this, Hathaway suddenly became furious. “How could you even sleep? Do you know that if I hadn’t gotten there in time, Tessa would have been frozen in the practice room tonight! ”
Hearing this, Kathleen felt her mind clear a little.
Looking at her mother’s angry look, she knew what she had done was discovered.
However, she had no repentance at all. “So what? She brought it onto herself. Moreover, she was just frozen. It’s not like she was frozen to death.”
