In the president’s office of Sawyer Group, Edward brought up Timothy’s online problems after he reported on his work. He asked, “President Sawyer, should we lend a hand in solving Mr. Timothy’s affairs?”
“There’s no need for that. Timothy will handle this matter.”
“But—”
Edward wanted to explain the huge impact of this matter. Unfortunately, with Timothy’s current ability, I’m afraid that he will not be able to solve this matter in a short time.
It was just that Nicholas interrupted Edward before he could say anything. He said coldly, “There are no ifs and buts about this. Timothy’s a grown man. He can’t always rely on others to solve his problems every time. Plus, I don’t think he wants anyone to interfere with his private matters. What’s more, I’m sure he’ll also deal with this matter as soon as possible in order to not worry Tessa.”
Meanwhile, Tessa had no idea what was happening in her home country. She simply practiced every day, going off in the early morning and returning till late at night. Miss Hathaway was very strict with Tessa in particular. Hence, she wished time would pass by slower so that she could practice more.
After a day of intense practice, she returned to the apartment. Once everything was sorted, she sat on the sofa in her pajamas and then decided to first make a video call to Timothy.
Timothy’s handsome and mature face appeared in the video in a few seconds. Tessa held her chin in the palm of her hand and jokingly said, “Tim, I find that you are getting more and more handsome now.”
“Was I not handsome before?” Timothy asked with a chuckle.
“You’re handsome before, but something was missing. But now it feels different when I look at your handsome face.”
“What’s different?”
“I don’t know. It’s just different.”
Since Tessa could not explain, she might as well leave everything ambiguous. After that, the siblings chatted and laughed for a while. Then, Tessa asked Timothy about his situation back in the country.
“How are you doing over there these two days?”
“I’m doing quite well here. So don’t worry about me, Tess. By the way, our company has signed a cooperative deal with President Sawyer again.”
Timothy only told her the good news and deliberately concealed what was unpleasant. He did not say a word about what happened to him in the country. I don’t want Tess to still worry about me even after she left.
In the meantime, she did not know what thoughts ran through his mind. When she heard that Timothy had signed another project, she was thrilled and praised, “Tim, you’re getting better and better. I’ll be in your care in the future.”
“Well, I’ll definitely make you the happiest person in the world if I support you!” He nodded firmly and looked at her with an earnest and determined gaze.
She was incredibly moved when she saw that. She knew that he wasn’t joking. He meant what he said, just like the things that he had promised her before.
Later, the two talked for a while, and she hung up the phone. After pouring herself a glass of water, Tessa sat back on the sofa and called Nicholas. The call was connected almost as soon as she dialed the number.
Tessa smiled when she looked at the handsome man in the video and said, “Picking up so quickly? Could it be that you’re holding the phone in your hand?”
Nicholas smiled without saying a word as he heard her teasing. However, the expression on his face explained everything. Then, he asked, “How was your practice today? Are you tired?”
“It’s going well. I’m used to it now.”
After that, Tessa recounted today’s training situation and some exciting things she saw in the orchestra.
While he looked at the girl who was full of confidence and brilliance on the screen, the corners of his mouth lifted into a faint smile, and his gaze was so gentle that it seemed like it could drown a person.
After Tessa finished speaking, she was a little shy when she met his deep dark eyes, which seemed to draw people in. She lightly coughed as if to hide her discomfort. Then, she asked, “Where’s Greg? Why isn’t he here today?”
“He’s practicing in the music room. Do you want to see him?”
“Yes!”
Although they video-called each other every day, Tessa could not stop thinking about the adorable Gregory. She wanted to hear him calling her ‘Miss Tessa’ with his soft voice.
The video vibrated for a while, and Tessa heard Nicholas’ gentle voice coming from the phone. “Greg! Miss Tessa is calling.”
Stomp, stomp, stomp…
Gregory’s chubby face appeared almost immediately in the video call in the next second.
