Since Edward claimed that there was nothing wrong with Mona, then there must be another reason. With that thought in mind, Tessa suddenly had a mind-blowing idea and glanced at Edward with a teasing expression. “Could it be that. you’ve fallen for Mona?”
However, she quickly realized that her conjecture did not make sense. Mona was her friend, who barely had any contact with Edward. In fact, the one and only encounter between them was when Mona had last gotten drunk. Don’t tell me…
“Edward, tell me honestly. Did something happen when you drove Mona home that night? Tessa looked at Edward with a probing gaze that was also filled with curiosity. Her question instantly made him uncomfortable.
Just as Edward was struggling to answer the question, they arrived at the new house. He breathed a sigh of relief and quickly changed the subject. “Young Madam, we’ve arrived.”

Although Edward was nothing more than Nicholas’ assistant, his personal value and social status were not low. That was because he was very good at managing money. He had several valuable assets and businesses across the country, and his annual income was upwards of hundreds of thousands. “Honestly, you’re really amazing. I was just fooling around all the time when I was your age. Even Kieran looked at Timothy with admiration.
As soon as the words left Kieran’s mouth, he was criticized by Stefania. “I can’t believe you have the nerve to say that! Look at Timothy! Then, look at yourself! I honestly doubt whether you’re my biological son. Your brother is such a talented and excellent man. How is it that you’re so unreliable? You’re already in your thirties. Your career is barely passable, but you don’t have a family or a wife, much less any children!”
Hearing that, everybody else eagerly turned to look at Kieran as though they were watching an interesting show. Although similar situations had been happening frequently over the last two years, they had not gotten tired of watching Kieran being forced into marriage through various methods.
Naturally, Kieran noticed their twisted humor. He deliberately clutched at his chest in an exaggerated manner and pretended to be hurt. “Nicholas, Tessa, are you just going to watch me get nagged by Mom? Don’t you have any love for your brother? Timothy, you too! Help me out here!”
Unfortunately, every one of them ignored his pleas. Gregory suddenly interjected with words that added salt to his wounds. “Uncle Kieran, you’re not young anymore. You should quickly find a wife to marry. Otherwise, you’ll be all alone in the future. Won’t it suck to see us leading happy lives with our families when you’re so lonely?”
