Chapter 784 A Miraculous Place
“What happened? Is it going to rain? There was lightning and thunder…”
“Was there an earthquake? The building is about to collapse!”
“It’s raining stones! My head’s got a bump on it because of them.”
Everyone in the Medicine God Sect got up and gathered together to discuss the strange incident.
“This…” Jared was stunned as he stared at his fist. “I’ve only upgraded to the next stage, but my powers increased by so much! How unbelievable!”
Jared did not expect his powers to increase so significantly after ascending up a stage.
If Jared met Hayden again, he could probably kill Hayden with a single blow.
With a wave, the Dragonslayer Sword appeared in Jared’s hand. It buzzed softly, as if it was congratulating Jared.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
At that moment, someone knocked on the door. Jared quickly kept the Dragonslayer Sword and Divine Cauldron.
When he opened the door, he saw Donald standing outside.
“Mr. Chance, you have been staying here for two days. Are you bored? I’ll bring you out for a walk,” said Donald to Jared.
“Didn’t Mr. Knox say that I’m an outsider and cannot wander around the Medicine God Sect? That’s to prevent any unnecessary troubles…”
Since Jared was a guest, it was not nice for him to break the rules.
After all, Axton had been quite nice to Jared so far.
“Don’t worry, no one would be able to recognize you.”
As he spoke, Donald whipped out a hat and a pair of sunglasses. “Mr. Chance, if you wear these, no one will recognize you. I can bring you to see what exactly is so miraculous about the Medicine God Sect.”
When Jared heard about how miraculous the Medicine God Sect was, his curiosity was piqued. Hence, he put on the hat and the sunglasses before leaving the room with Donald.
After they finished breakfast, they walked on the streets. Many of them greeted Donald, though none of them paid particular attention to Jared.
Donald led Jared deeper into the Medicine God Sect valley. As they ventured even further in, the number of ordinary people dwindled. Instead, more martial artists, all of them exuding a unique aura, appeared. Some were powerful, while others were less so.
When the martial artists saw Donald, they acted respectfully too. It was obvious that his status in the Medicine God Sect was not low.
After walking for a while, they stopped seeing anyone else. Still, they had not reached the end of the valley. When they gazed ahead, it looked like the road was endless. The hills on both sides looked identical, as if they were reflections in a mirror.
“Mr. Chance, no one has ever reached the end of the road, nor does anyone know what lies there. Out of curiosity, I’ve walked for an entire day, but the road ahead of me still looked endless,” said Donald as he pointed at the path ahead.
“Endless? How can such a place exist?”
Jared found it unbelievable.
“Mr. Chance, if you don’t believe me, we can walk for a while.”
As he spoke, Donald concentrated some martial energy at his feet. His speed increased instantly.
When Jared saw that, he mustered his energy and caught up with Donald.
By then, both of them were traveling very quickly. If they were on a crowded street and other ordinary people saw them, they would be flabbergasted.
Just like that, they ran for an hour. Donald bent down, his forehead dotted with sweat. He was already starting to pant.
On the other hand, Jared did not seem exhausted at all. Instead, he shot a puzzled glance at the road.
Logically speaking, they would have already traveled hundreds of kilometers with their speed. However, Jared realized that the scenery in front of them had not changed at all.
That was despite the fact that he felt like he was progressing, not just running in the same spot.
“Mr. Chance, I wasn’t lying to you, right? Look! We haven’t reached the end yet,” said Donald as he panted.
Jared did not say anything. Instead, he frowned and closed his eyes slowly.
