Chapter 4085
“You’re being far too modest. This is all down to your exceptional talent. Now that you’re the leader of Violet Flame Sect, its future development depends on you,” Gael chirped.
“No, no. My position as sect leader is only temporary. Once I’ve resolved the issues at hand, I’ll have to leave. When that time comes, I’ll pass on the leadership to Juliet,” Jared hurriedly said.
Jared thought that Gael had appointed him the new sect leader to pass the position on to Juliet eventually.
The other elders might disagree if Gael passed the sect leader position to Juliet.
After all, the position of Violet Flame Sect’s sect leader wasn’t by hereditary succession. Hence, Gael passing the position to his daughter would appear rather inappropriate.
If Jared were to hand the position to Jared, that would effectively shut the others up.
Jared had interpreted it in such a way, but he was mistaken. That wasn’t Gael’s intention at all. He sincerely wanted Jared to take up the mantle as the sect leader.
“Juliet is a woman, and she’ll inevitably marry someday. She isn’t suitable to be the sect leader. That is unless you marry Juliet. She might be able to share your burdens, then,” Gael uttered.
“That won’t do.” Jared hastily waved his hands.
He simply couldn’t marry Juliet.
Jared once declared that his first wedding must be with Josephine. Even though Josephine’s current whereabouts were unknown, Jared firmly believed Josephine was waiting for him.
Although Jared had many women in his life and was intimately involved with quite a few of them, he wouldn’t have given his first wedding to any other woman.
Hearing that, Juliet asked somewhat aggrievedly, “What’s the matter? Do you think I’m not good enough for you?”
“No, it’s not that. You have an amazing figure and flawless skin and are breathtakingly beautiful. Any man who lays eyes on you would be smitten. However, I already have a girlfriend and several close female friends. We’ve been intimate, so I’m not worthy of you, Juliet,” Jared quickly clarified.
Upon hearing that, Juliet instantly burst into laughter. She was under the assumption that Jared disdained her.
Gael chuckled. “What does it matter? Since you can’t take a wife, let Juliet be your confidante. In Ethereal Realm, it’s pretty common for a man to have multiple wives. Moreover, if they developed feelings for each other, it’s perfectly normal for them to undergo dual cultivation together. After all, it’s a practice that can help enhance their abilities.”
“That’s right. You don’t have to marry me, nor do you need to give me any title. In Ethereal Realm, these matters are inconsequential. All that matters is that I have a place in your heart.” Juliet moved closer to Jared, taking the initiative to hold his hand.
This sight was so astonishing that it left Judd and the others practically drooling.
The woman they wouldn’t even dare to dream about was willingly drawing herself closer to Jared at that moment, even offering herself to him voluntarily.
This was the disparity, the difference between individuals.
Upon seeing the situation, Jared didn’t say anything further. After all, Juliet had already taken the initiative to that extent. It would be akin to rejecting a goodwill gesture if he didn’t accept her offer.
Moreover, Juliet was indeed enticing. Jared couldn’t help but recall that night when he accidentally caught a glimpse of Juliet’s body. His heart still raced as the thought surfaced in his mind.
Once everyone returned to Violet Flame Sect, Jared immediately sought out Carlo, who had been locked up.
Carlo was confined in Violet Flame Sect’s dungeon and was surrounded by an arcane array set up by Rohan.
At that moment, Carlo looked disheveled, starkly contrasting his initial appearance when he brimmed with vitality and enthusiasm.
Upon hearing the sound, Carlo slowly began to speak. “You’re finally here.”
“Have you been waiting for me all this time?” Jared was somewhat taken aback.
“Of course. Do you really think these surrounding arcane arrays could have trapped me?” Carlo lifted his head, revealing a hint of a smile.
Jared glanced over and began to laugh as well. Indeed, these formations can hardly confine Carlo. This guy’s array craft is indeed exceptional.
Jared couldn’t comprehend why Carlo didn’t just run away. Why is he waiting for me?
“Why are you waiting for me? Are you hoping to plead for my help?” Jared asked.
