“Ms. Grange, you must have proof to support your accusations. Did you see me hitting your brother? Besides, your brother took my stone and didn’t return it. He committed robbery. As someone of the Department of Justice, are you going to let it slide?” Joseph smirked and asked as he wasn’t intimidated by Lizbeth at all.
“Lizbeth, don’t listen to him. I bought this stone. I have paid him the money!” Oliver hurriedly explained to Lizbeth.
“Shut your mouth!” Lizbeth angrily shouted at Oliver, “I’ll deal with you once we get home!”
Seeing that Lizbeth was furious, Oliver held onto the stone with both hands and lowered his head in silence.
“Joseph, I overheard your previous conversation with my brother. In the past, my brother could open the stones by just paying the deposit. But you denied it once he got something good. You’re obviously trying to trick him!”
Lizbeth was clever. She could discern the trap set by the owner of the stone gambling store to trick Oliver.
“Ms. Grange, you have to be careful with your words. We are all honest merchants. Besides, everyone here knows that the rule of stone gambling is to pay upfront. I used to let him open the stones with a deposit because I pitied him. Is it wrong that I stopped doing that today? Is it against the law?”
Lizbeth was finally rendered speechless.
“Give him the stone.”
Jared and Josephine squeezed themselves in from the crowd at this critical moment.
“Jared, my dear brother-in-law!” Oliver’s eyes glimmered when he saw Jared. “This is imperial jade and it’s worth at least a few million. How can I simply return it to them?”
Lizbeth and Jared were terrified when Oliver addressed Jared as his brother-in-law in front of Josephine.
Josephine was stunned. She looked at Jared and Lizbeth in confusion.

Oliver was stunned for a moment. That was when he realized that Jared was holding hands with Josephine. It turned out that Jared wasn’t his sister’s boyfriend. It was all a misunderstanding.
Although Oliver was a little disappointed, he knew he shouldn’t address Jared wrongly in the future. Hence, he hurriedly explained to defend himself, “What’s wrong with that? Josephine is like a sister to me, why can’t I address him as my brother-in-law? Am I right, Josephine?”
That was the first time Oliver met Josephine, but he regarded her as his sister like she was an old acquaintance.
Lizbeth was perplexed by Oliver’s words. However, Jared was quite impressed. Although Oliver was timid and cowardly, his ability to react was extraordinary.
Josephine was delighted to be regarded as Oliver’s sister. She turned to Lizbeth and asked, “Lizbeth, is this the naughty younger brother you used to talk about in school?”
Lizbeth nodded and glared at Oliver.
“Josephine, you have to help me. I bought this stone with my money. They are obviously trying to trick me!”
Oliver knew that Jared was an extraordinary man. After all, Jared had good relations with the Phoenix Regiment; hence, he must be someone special.
That was why he wanted Josephine to help him. All he needed was just a word from Josephine, and Jared would have no choice but to help him. After all, they lived in a society where men would always listen to women.
Josephine glanced at Jared and said, “Jared, help him!”
“Oliver, give them back the stone. Since there are rules, we should follow the rules,” Jared turned to Oliver and said.
“But Jared, this is an imperial jade. It’s worth several million!” With an anxious expression, he hinted at Jared desperately. He thought Jared didn’t know what an imperial jade was.
