Chapter 372 Matchmaking
Upon hearing that, Lizbeth got anxious and immediately explained to Josephine, “Josephine, I was just worried that the Jantz family might come after Jared. So I asked him to stay at my place. He’s been sleeping on the couch…”
Noticing Lizbeth’s nervousness, Josephine flashed her friend a smile. “Lizbeth, there is no need to explain yourself to me. I trust you guys!”
Lizbeth was left embarrassed by Josephine’s words.
“Did you come here alone? Wasn’t it dangerous?” Jared asked Josephine.
“Tommy sent me here. He went to park his car and should be here soon…”
As soon as she finished her sentence, Tommy came in.
“Mr. Chance…” Tommy greeted Jared humbly after seeing him.
“How is it? How are you feeling?” Jared asked with concern.
“I’m feeling fine. In fact, I feel better than before!” Tommy laughed.
“Come on in. Let’s have a meal together. I’ve cooked more dishes today!”
Lizbeth invited Josephine and Tommy to the table.
After eating, the two women went off shopping. It was their favorite thing to do, after all.
Meanwhile, Jared brought Tommy to the Phoenix Regiment. He figured that he should introduce the latter to Phoenix as they were both his subordinates.
“My Lord, do you mean to say that Phoenix Regiment belonged to Dragon Sect too?”
On their way there, Tommy asked Jared with shocked expression.
“That’s right. Phoenix recognized my Dragon Ring right away!”
Jared nodded firmly.
“I didn’t expect the biggest gang in Summerbank is one of ours. With this, you have nothing to fear in Summerbank!”
Tommy was both startled and in awe.
At Phoenix Regiment, Phoenix personally came to welcome Jared.
She was stunned momentarily upon seeing Tommy beside Jared. However, she immediately recollected herself and nodded at Tommy with a smile.
Tommy was stunned, too, upon seeing Phoenix’s smile.
“Hello, I’m Phoenix!” Phoenix extended her hand for a handshake.
Tommy’s face flushed red as he nervously shook Phoenix’s hand. “I’m Tommy!”
“Mr. Lewis, I can see that you’re as great as the rumors say. As the underground king of Horington, your reputation precedes you.”
Phoenix started flattering Tommy.
“Thanks for the compliment…”
Even though Tommy was a great elite, he paled in comparison to Phoenix in terms of strength and influence.
After chatting for a while, Phoenix invited Jared and Tommy to a secret room.
“My Lord, I have something to tell you. The Warriors Alliance will be holding an arena match tomorrow. Since the Jantz family is working against you, I intend to kill Zachariah in the match!” Phoenix said.
“Do you have confidence in it?” Jared questioned.
“Yes!” Phoenix nodded without hesitation. “To be honest with you, my strength is now on par with that of an Internal Energy Grandmaster. I have been hiding my real power so that I could surprise them at the right moment!”
“Well, since you’ve said so, you have my full support in your decision.” Jared nodded. “Can I go watch the arena match?”
“Of course! You can go with me tomorrow if you’d like, My Lord!” Phoenix responded.
After staying at Phoenix Regiment for around half an hour, Jared left with Tommy.
On their way home, Jared suddenly popped a question at Tommy with a smile. “Tommy, what do you think of Phoenix?”
“She’s not bad, I guess. She’s good-looking and strong too…” Tommy responded without much thought while driving.
“Then, I shall match make you two when there is a chance!”
In truth, Jared had noticed how Tommy had been staring at Phoenix secretly. Not to mention how Tommy’s gaze was filled with admiration when he did so.
“My Lord, I don’t think that that’s appropriate. There is a huge gap between our strength, after all…” Tommy muttered with a dejected expression.
“Don’t worry about it! Just leave it to me!”
Upon saying that, Jared leaned back against his seat to rest.
