If it weren’t for his somewhat cordial relationship with Tyler, Jared would have had no interest in meddling with the Summers family’s affairs.

Upon witnessing the situation, Jennifer hurriedly stopped Catina, then turned to Jared and said, “Mr. Chance, Mr. Vilhelm has always been loyal to the Summers family. He was merely led astray. I still hope that his life can be spared. I believe he can come to his senses.”
Jennifer didn’t want to witness Vilhelm being killed.

Jared knew that all of this had arisen because of Oscar.
In order to find a solution, he needed to address Oscar first.
Cloud nodded and promptly restrained Vilhelm. To ensure that Vilhelm couldn’t escape, Jared established an arcane array around the room.
While the Summers family was well-known for their expertise in arcane arrays, breaking the one set up by Jared was nearly impossible for Vilhelm.
