To everyone’s surprise, Jared began communicating with the telepathic beast. However, the telepathic beast ignored Jared’s words and responded by emitting a terrifying aura and letting out a roar.
“Oh no…”
Evindal immediately cried out in alarm upon witnessing the situation. He knew that the roar and aura of the telepathic beast were incredibly terrifying.
Despite this, Jared remained motionless, allowing the terrifying aura to approach him. The aura shook several arcane arrays, but Jared’s body remained completely still.
Although Jared was only a First Level Tribulator cultivator, his strength was unshakable to the telepathic beast. Evindal was utterly dumbfounded upon witnessing this scene.
“Is… Is this the cultivation level of a First Level Tribulator cultivator?”
Evindal’s face was filled with disbelief. Realizing that its roar had no effect on Jared, the telepathic beast retreated, planning to charge at him.
“I won’t harm your child…”
After Jared finished speaking, he gently waved his hand, casting a soft glow onto the telepathic beast’s body. The light formed a halo around it.
As Jared recited a calming incantation, the telepathic beast gradually calmed down, and the crimson glow in its eyes faded away.
“What’s happening?”
Catina and Feenix were also somewhat dumbfounded by this scene. The telepathic beast had completely calmed down. Under the embrace of the halo, it began to give birth continuously.
Accompanied by a roar from the telepathic beast, a mini telepathic beast came into existence. The telepathic beast licked its offspring ceaselessly, displaying the gentle demeanor of a mother. There was no trace of the ferocity it had shown moments ago.
Jared watched as the telepathic beast calmed down and then slowly emerged from the arcane arrays.
Upon seeing Jared emerge, Evindal asked with a confused expression, “What… What exactly is happening here?”
“I think I understand why these telepathic beasts choose to end their own lives…. Jared said with a serious expression.
“Why?” Feenix and Catina asked simultaneously.
“Because there’s an indiscernible lethal intent. This aura is almost imperceptible, but the telepathic beast is exceptionally sensitive to it and was disturbed by this lethal intent. I used magecraft to block that lethal intent, and the telepathic beast immediately calmed down. It seems that this lethal intent was the cause. From the beginning, I sensed an unusual aura, but I couldn’t quite grasp it. It was only when I stepped into the arcane arrays and the telepathic beast let out a terrifying roar, emitting a dreadful aura, that I was able to detect the presence of that lethal intent,” Jared explained.
“Why didn’t I sense the lethal intent?”
Catina was taken aback. Given her current cultivation level, she should have noticed what Jared did. It was strange that she didn’t.
Evindal also wore a puzzled expression. “Lethal intent? That shouldn’t be. Although there is lethal intent within the Phantom Valley, there is an arcane array in the middle that acts as a barrier. The lethal intent shouldn’t be able to reach the Spirit Beast Valley.”
“Let’s go and investigate. Perhaps we’ll understand then…”
After Jared finished speaking, he walked toward the entrance of the cave. Feenix and the others hurriedly followed, and together with Jared, they headed toward the Phantom Valley.
Upon exiting the cave, Jared could no longer sense the lethal intent, but he continued toward the Phantom Valley.
Returning once again to the Phantom Valley, Jared gazed upon the ground littered with skeletal remains and the motionless telepathic beasts. Slowly, he ventured further in. When Feenix and Catina attempted to follow and enter, Jared stopped them.
“Do not enter. This place cannot bear any other aura at the moment.”
Jared was afraid that the presence coming from Feenix and Catina would conceal the subtle, almost imperceptible, deadly intention.
As Jared stepped into the Phantom Valley, he immediately felt himself surrounded by the thick, deadly atmosphere that filled the surroundings.
