Hearing Cameron’s reminder, everyone quickly prepared themselves and descended to the ground cautiously. Once they landed, the once mist-shrouded crack in the earth emitted a faint green glow.
Cameron observed the two Norton family disciples who had been dispatched for exploration lying lifelessly on the ground.
If not for their scouting efforts, many would’ve died from the fall. The eerie atmosphere surrounding them and the emergence of the eerie green light left both Cameron and the Nesser family disciples with a sense of dread. Only Skylar seemed strangely delighted.
“Elder Nesser, this place is full of negative energy. It feels like we’re in the netherworld. It’s terrifying. Should we leave?” Cameron suggested nervously.
“Rest assured. There’s no danger here,” Skylar said before walking ahead. As the Nesser family members explored the bottom of the crack, Jared, Catina, and Feenix arrived at the same location above them.
Observing the deep crevice, Feenix asked, “How did a big crack suddenly appear in this place? It looks like it was forcefully split open by someone.”
“This place seems to exude a sense of impending danger. I suggest we leave,” said Catina after scrutinizing the crevice.
However, Jared remained silent as he gazed at the crack. Suddenly, he leaped into it. Seeing this, Feenix hurriedly exclaimed, “Master, wait for me!”
She jumped into the crevice after him, leaving Catina no choice but to go after them. Jared expanded his spiritual sense thoroughly and furrowed his brows slightly. Although he didn’t sense immediate danger, an oppressive feeling enveloped him.
The reason Jared had jumped into this crevice was because there was a lot of lethal intent within. It might not be useful for other cultivators, but it would be highly beneficial for him.
The marked aura wasn’t just ordinary lethal intent. Jared needed the marked aura the most to use the Divine Bow.
The reason Skylar had entered the crevice was also because of the marked aura. He was familiar with it.
“This lethal intent is quite strange. It seems different from other lethal intents I’ve encountered before,” Catina said, sounding confused.
Soon, the three of them landed on the ground. Jared observed the eerie green glow around them. His expression turned progressively solemn.
“Master, look!” Feenix suddenly exclaimed. Jared and Catina hurriedly looked over. They noticed two individuals nearby who had already turned into a bloody mess from the impact of their fall.
“Somebody’s been here?” Catina frowned as she looked at the two cultivators who had already turned into a pulp.
“They are from the Nesser family.”
Jared immediately recognized them despite their heavily damaged appearance. Even though their faces were unrecognizable, their clothes still confirmed their identity.
“You know them?” Catina asked.
Jared bobbed his head. “Yes. It appears that someone from the Nesser family is well-versed enough to discover this location and venture into the crevice.”
Jared had entered the crevice for the marked aura as it was beneficial for him. Ordinary cultivators would hesitate due to the seemingly bottomless crevice and the lethal intent.
As the members of the Nesser family were inside, they should be aware of the presence of magical items within the crevice.
“Master, let’s catch up. If there are treasures, the Nesser family might have already obtained them,” Feenix said urgently. Jared nodded. He then led Feenix and Catina forward.
Meanwhile, Cameron and two Nesser family disciples were exploring ahead. Skylar and the rest tagged behind. Soon, Cameron noticed a gleam of spiritual light in front, a welcome change from the eerie green glow.
