“It moved?”
Jared examined the spirit beast egg before giving it a gentle stroke. He wanted to feel what was inside it. However, the moment he made contact with the egg, a rainbow-like ray shot into the sky without warning.
The scene gave Jared a fright, and he retracted his hand immediately. If others were to see the light, they would track it down, which would become a problem.
Unknown to him, the moment the vibrant light flashed into the sky, a group of cultivators appeared nearby after being transported from the entrance of the Celestial Battlefield.
The group was dressed in similar outfits, a clear sign that they were from the same sect. The fact that they could bring so many of their members along was a sign of how strong their sect was, or at the very least, how wealthy they were.
“Quick, look. What is that?” someone exclaimed when they saw the rainbow-like rays. However, when the rest of the group looked in the direction he was pointing, the light had already disappeared.
“What are you babbling about? This is the Celestial Battlefield, where there are no rules. If you want to survive, you had better keep a low profile,” a middle-aged man in green barked.
“Kyan, but I just saw a blistering light shoot up into the sky nearby. However, it disappeared in a flash,” replied the man who was being reprimanded anxiously.
“That’s right. I saw it, too. The vibrant array of colors disappeared in a flash. Could it be a sign that a magical item has appeared?” someone else added.
Given that more than one person had seen the phenomenon, the wavering Kyan said, “Let’s go over and take a look, but stay alert, everyone. Anything can happen here in the Celestial Battlefield, so it pays to be extra cautious. Even if they’re the same as us, you should not let your guard down. Human cultivators are the most ruthless beings, after all.”
Once the instructions were given out, the group flew toward the source of the vibrant array of lights from earlier.
Soon, they were greeted by the sight of a thick white mist.
“Kyan, look. There’s a cloud of mist in this wide expanse, Something strange must be going on.” said someone aloud.
Kyan had long noticed the presence of the mist. Despite releasing his spiritual sense, he was unable to probe what was within. It was evident that there was an arcane array preventing his spiritual sense from entering.
The existence of an arcane array clearly indicated that someone was there. Coupled with the vibrant light that appeared earlier, the group speculated that the mist was hiding a magical item.
“Kyan, let’s charge into it. There must be a magical item inside as the colorful light earlier came from it.”
Some of them were raring to go, for a magical item that could emit such a vibrant array of lights had to be an extremely rare treasure.
“Everyone, don’t act recklessly. Only someone strong can cast such an arcane array. On top of that, we don’t know who is inside or how many of them there are. What if it’s a trap?” Kyan stopped his subordinates.
Now that his spiritual sense couldn’t breach the white mist, he didn’t dare to charge into it without knowing how many enemies were in there.
With that thought in mind, Kyan swiftly descended to the border of the mist. He then gradually reached his hand into it, hoping to ascertain the situation inside. Unfortunately, the attempt was nothing but futile.
Nevertheless, the aura of a Sixth Level Tribulator emanated outward continuously. The phenomenon caught Kyan by surprise, as most cultivators preferred hiding their auras to blend in instead.
The person inside is releasing his aura on purpose. Why is he doing so?
