“Take me inside the cave. I have something to ask you.”
Jared had the water dragon guide him into the cave. Wanting to keep his identity discreet, Jared preferred limiting the number of individuals who knew about him. Thus, he chose to converse with the water dragon in its secluded cave.
The water dragon promptly led Jared inside. Upon reaching the cave’s end, Jared noticed another pit leading underground. The water dragon’s habitat was concealed beneath the earth, sealed off by the dragon. Consequently, Jared and the others reached the cave’s end shortly after entering.
“What are you?” the water dragon asked.
“You don’t need to know that. Answer my question truthfully. If I’m satisfied with your answer, I can give you some pointers to help you become a true dragon,” Jared stated with a contemplative expression.
The water dragon courteously responded, “Please ask. I’ll tell you everything I know.”
“How did you become like this? Did you absorb celestial energy to transform into a water dragon?” Jared inquired.
“Yes, I was a crimson snake in the past and accidentally stumbled upon a giant rock imbued with celestial energy. Consequently, I began to cultivate, absorbing the energy. Despite many years passing, I am still one step away from ascension, unable to find a way to become a true dragon,” the water dragon truthfully replied.
“Is the giant celestial rock still here?” Jared questioned.
“Yes!” The water dragon nodded.
“Take me to it.” Jared wanted to witness the celestial rock that facilitated the transformation of a tiny crimson snake into a water dragon.
The water dragon slithered into the endless pit, with Jared following closely behind. After some time, a sea of red lava came into view.
The boiling lava’s temperature exceeded a thousand degrees. However, Jared remained unfazed, his body capable of withstanding even the scalding temperature of demonic fire, let alone lava.
In the middle of the lava, Jared observed a massive rock. The stone was substantial, providing a comfortable perch for the water dragon..
“Such a huge celestial rock!” Jared exclaimed in astonishment.
“Of course. How else would I absorb celestial energy from it for so many years? However, there isn’t much energy left within the rock now. If I don’t utilize every bit of the celestial energy to ascend, I fear that I’ll be forever stuck in this phase.”
The water dragon’s tone was dismal as it spoke.
Jared eyed the massive rock and leaped onto it. He then realized the celestial energy exuded from the stone was exactly the same as the one he encountered in the ice soul fragment in the far north.
Although the celestial energy within the rock wasn’t much to the water dragon, it was a priceless treasure for Jared. It could probably help him break through a minor cultivation level.
After all, the resources Jared needed to break through a minor cultivation level were a dozen times more than the other cultivators.
“You can undoubtedly ascend now with your current level, but you’re still grappling with the concept of immortality. Despite the draconic energy within you, it lacks purity. You’re not a true dragon. I’ll now transfer some pure draconic energy to you. Endeavor to contemplate and comprehend. Once you have a solid grasp, I’m confident you can ascend to a true dragon,” Jared conveyed.
“Thank you!”
The water dragon’s figure distorted briefly before turning into a handsome man. He knelt and bowed at Jared with gratitude.
Regardless of Jared’s identity, it was true that he had draconic essence and pure draconic energy within him.
Hence, the water dragon knew Jared was a Draconian without probing further. I’m truly fortunate to have the chance to receive guidance from a true dragon.
Jared placed his hand on the water dragon’s head, and a surge of draconic energy flowed into its body.
