After flying for a whole day and a night, the airship slowly landed at a small city where the Teleportation Array was located.
Jared then put the airship away and headed over to the Teleportation Array with the others. The three of them had to pay a few million spirit coins each before they were allowed to enter the Teleportation Array.
After going through several rounds of screenings, the trio finally saw the Teleportation Array, which had a radius of a few hundred meters.
It was extremely complicated and exuded an ancient aura. These Teleportation Arrays were left behind. from ancient times. Given the cultivation levels of the Ethereal Realm cultivators, none of them could possibly create such a huge arcane array.
In the past, there were many Teleportation Arrays in the Ethereal Realm. After all, Ethereal Realm was hundreds or thousands of times larger than the mundane world.
With Teleportation Arrays, they could shorten. the amount of time needed to travel around Ethereal Realm. However, to maintain and activate such a massive arcane array would require huge amounts of resources.
Because of that, many Teleportation Arrays were either destroyed or no longer in service. Only a few Teleportation Arrays remained active.
Because word had gotten out about the celestial battleground in Demonia Mountain, there were hundreds of cultivators gathered in the Teleportation Array.
“Is the Teleportation Array going to be activated or not? We’ve been waiting for three days now! There are hundreds of us here, so why hasn’t it activated yet?”
“I know, right? I can’t believe we have to wait endlessly after paying millions of spirit coins!”
“The people from Behemoth Palace sure are a greedy bunch!”
A bunch of cultivators, who were gathered at the entrance of the Teleportation Array, protested loudly as they were getting impatient. Standing before them, however, were two muscular men about two meters tall. They even had accessories that were made out of beast bones.
The two men ignored the crowd completely and acted as though they didn’t even hear them. The entrance to the Teleportation Array behind them was tightly shut.
“There are hundreds of us here now, so why hasn’t the Teleportation Array activated yet? If we teleport too many people at once, it could overload the Teleportation Array and damage it. That could be very dangerous!” Feenix exclaimed while staring at the cultivators standing around them.
“These men from Behemoth Palace are particularly greedy. In fact, their levels of greed even surpass that of my father’s. It’s not often that so many people would use the Teleportation Array at the same time, so they’re bound to take advantage of this opportunity to rip us off. Just you wait. I bet they’re going to increase the price soon…” Cloud replied helplessly.
“What is Behemoth Palace? Why are they in charge of Teleportation Arrays?” Jared asked in confusion. Although the two men guarding the Teleportation Array were tall and strong, the aura they exuded wasn’t all that powerful.
“The people from Behemoth Palace are descendants of barbarians, Mr. Chance. They worship absolute power, and their origins share some connections with Archaic Body cultivators. The difference is the people from Behemoth Palace are very wild and don’t seem to have evolved much. They don’t rely on spiritual energy for cultivation. Instead, they consume the blood and flesh of demon beasts raw. They believe that this is the only way to maximize their bodies’ potential,” Cloud explained.
Jared let out a chuckle after hearing that. “So, they’re basically barbarians, then?”
“You could say that. They are the descendants of barbarians, after all. This Teleportation Array is on Behemoth Palace territory, so they’re in charge of it. These guys are incredibly greedy, so they’re bound to hike up the prices now that there are so many people here.”
Those words had barely left Cloud’s mouth when an argument broke out near the Teleportation Array’s entrance.
“You barbarians are unbelievable! This Teleportation Array may be on your territory, but it doesn’t belong to Behemoth Palace! You guys are only allowed to manage it! Your kin was never capable of creating Teleportation Arrays like this, even during ancient times!”
