At the heart of Demon Seal Alliance stood an enormous palace of unmatched grandeur. The palace was home to Talcott Lefterov, the head of the alliance.
Within the palace’s grand hall, Talcott sat in serene meditation, his eyes closed as he absorbed the potent spiritual energy that surged from the depths of the earth.
Beneath the palace was a vast underground city that housed hundreds and thousands of Demonic Cultivators. The sudden surge of footsteps disrupted Talcott’s meditative state, prompting him to slowly open his eyes.
A middle-aged man named Zayan Cabeza approached Talcott with respect and bowed deeply before speaking. “Mr. Lefterov, out of the Five Slayers, we’ve only managed to locate Aquadoran and Bhivsen. I’m afraid the others have met an unfortunate end.”
“Was our subbranch destroyed and its head killed as well?” Talcott inquired with a frown.
“That’s right. Fayzon Leaveden, the subbranch head, was slain, along with several elders, by a man named Jared Chance. The slayers also perished by his hand,” Zayan urgently reported.
“Jared Chance?” A chilling glint flickered in Talcott’s eyes. “Have you obtained any information regarding him?”
“Yes, Mr. Lefterov. I have gathered some information about this Jared. He appears to have materialized out of thin air within the Ethereal Realm, with no prior records of his existence. This leads my subordinates to believe he may have originated from another world. Despite being an eighth-level Body Fusion Realm cultivator, he has demonstrated the ability to defeat cultivators of a higher rank, including a second-level Tribulator. Furthermore, he possesses mastery over magecraft and a body seemingly immune to toxins. It is likely that he hails from a more advanced world.”
Talcott remained silent, his fingers lightly tapping the runestone as he swiftly absorbed Jared’s information. “He has managed to advance several cultivation levels within a mere few months. That man is indeed remarkable.” He went deep in thought with a frown. “Given his extraordinary abilities, could he be a reincarnator? Has this possibility occurred to you?”
“Reincarnator?” Zayan paused for a moment, his expression thoughtful. “Mr. Lefterov, a reincarnator only emerges when a soul remnant of a Great Elder from families or sects who failed to ascend to the next cultivation level resides within existing family members. Based on my investigation, Jared’s origins do not align with this background. In fact, he appears to have no known family lineage. Therefore, he cannot be a reincarnator, and there’s no possibility of him awakening the body of a reincarnated individual.”
Upon hearing that, Talcott fell into silence. After a short pause, he ordered, “Ask Aquadoran and Bhivsen to come in.”
Zayan then gestured for the two slayers to enter the hall.
Aquadoran and Bhivsen stepped into the room, their faces etched with apprehension and fear. Their defiance of Talcott’s orders had led to their capture, and they believed they would soon face the consequences of their actions.
As soon as Aquadoran and Bhivsen laid eyes on Talcott, they fell to their knees. Talcott regarded them with a detached gaze, his voice devoid of emotion as he inquired, “Why did you not heed my command and return immediately?”
“I’ll answer on your behalf since you seem reluctant to speak. You revealed Demon Seal Alliance’s secret and now fear the repercussions of your actions. This was why you defied my orders, am I correct?” Talcott asked.
“Please forgive us, Mr. Lefterov. Leaking the secret was Phaethon and Woodley’s idea, and they intended to eliminate all those aware of the secret before returning to you,” Aquadoran explained while nodding eagerly.
“Are you aware of the consequences of exposing the secrets of Demon Seal Alliance? For years, we have cultivated an image of righteousness and unwavering opposition to evil. Even if someone were to uncover and publicize the truth, their claims would be met with skepticism and disbelief. Thank goodness that’s the case. Otherwise, such revelations would have spelled the end for the alliance.”
With a swift movement of his hand, Talcott encased Aquadoran and Bhivsen in two swirling vortexes of dark mist.
