While everyone was resting, agonized screams echoed from the dungeon of Imperial Beast City. Xandros was bound tightly, and Ivasha lashed at him repeatedly with a whip in her hands..
Ivasha harbored a deep-seated hatred for Xandros, so she decided to seize that opportunity to exact her revenge.
Xandros let out continuous anguished cries, but he was trapped in a place where no one would offer him any assistance.
“Please, stop hitting me. I beg you,” he pleaded with Ivasha desperately. Unfortunately, Ivasha remained unfazed, continuing to swing the whip she wielded. In the end, she even brandished a dagger.
At that sight, Xandros was scared out of his wits. Terror-stricken, he threatened Ivasha loudly, “W- What are you going to do? I’m telling you, if you kill me, the entire Imperial Beast City will perish alongside me!”
“Don’t worry. I won’t kill you. Killing you just like that would be too merciful.”
Taking in the sinister smile on Ivasha’s countenance, Xandros trembled all over. Holding the dagger, she slowly approached Xandros. A cold gleam flitted across her eyes as she stabbed Xandros’ groin with the dagger in one swift motion.
“Ahh!” Xandros howled, and blood instantly flowed down his legs, soaking his trousers. The intense pain caused Xandros to pass out at once.
Only after seeing him faint did Ivasha leave in contentment. Now, Xandros will never be a man again in this lifetime! Meanwhile, in a grand military tent within Norwal City’s army, Lucian was sound asleep when Remus woke him up.
“What’s the matter? Why did you wake me up in the middle of the night?” Lucian asked in displeasure. If someone else had roused him from his slumber so late in the night, he would’ve lost his temper. However, at the sight of Remus, Lucian managed to retain a semblance of politeness.
“King Lucian, Mr. Xandros…” Remus was visibly anxious, unsure of how to break the news.
“Has Xandros gotten himself into trouble? Did he bring a few women into the tent to mess around again? I’ve warned him time and time again not to engage in such activities in the tent now that we are at war. His action will have detrimental effects on the troop morale, but he refuses to heed my advice.”
Lucian thought Xandros was fooling around with women in his tent.
“King Lucian, that’s not it. Mr. Xandros has been captured by people from Imperial Beast City,” Remus uttered with an ashamed expression.
“What?” Lucian leaped to his feet abruptly in incredulity. “What did you say?”
“I said Mr. Xandros has been captured by someone from Imperial Beast City,” Remus repeated in an undertone with his head bowed.
“How did that happen? Didn’t anyone notice someone from Imperial Beast City sneaking into our camp? Are all those on patrol dead? Who’s on duty tonight? I’ll have his head!” Lucian bellowed.
His initial impression was that someone from Imperial Beast City had taken Xandros away while the latter was in his tent.
“King Lucian, I accompanied Mr. Xandros to the outskirts of Imperial Beast City and ran into their people. Mr. Xandros ended up getting caught by them.” Left with no alternative, Remus could only recount everything that happened to Lucian.
After listening to the account, Lucian furrowed his brows, a look of confusion in his eyes. “Is there someone else who is your match in Imperial Beast City apart from Yuven?”
Lucian was puzzled. The experts from Imperial Beast City have all been eliminated, so how could there be more Tribulator cultivators, not to mention one who is stronger than Remus?
“That guy appeared to only be in Body Fusion Realm cultivation level, but the strength he demonstrated was comparable to that of a Tribulator. Moreover, this man also has a marked aura that is unique to those of us from Hadad’s lineage. That was why I was caught off guard and allowed him to get the better of me,” Remus elaborated.
Instead of saying his capabilities were inferior to Jared, Remus claimed to have been taken by surprise to save his dignity.
