Just then, two figures emerged from the forest. As they approached, Jared recognized one of the figures, and it was none other than Xandros from Norwal City.
When Xandros got a clear view of Jared’s face, a sneer crossed his lips. “Well, well, if it isn’t you. I thought you’d never have the guts to come back after running away.”
Remus, who stood beside Xandros, surveyed Jared and Cloud. A relaxed expression quickly overtook his face, for he didn’t think of Body Fusion Realm cultivators as a threat. Xandros also felt relieved when he saw Jared, as he was well aware of Jared’s prowess.
While Jared’s strength may have improved during this period, he would likely be, at most, a Body Fusion Realm cultivator.
After all, Remus, who stood beside Xandros, was a Third Level Tribulator cultivator. Dealing with a Body Fusion Realm cultivator would be a piece of cake for him.
“Are you not afraid of being captured when you come here in the middle of the night?” Jared was astonished by Xandros’ audacity to intrude into Imperial Beast City with only one companion. He’s being too arrogant!
“Being captured?” Xandros scoffed. “By who? Are there any other experts left in Imperial.
Beast City other than King Yuven? The person I’ve brought along is a Norwal City elder and a Third Level Tribulator cultivator. No one from Imperial Beast City can catch me when he’s here with me!”
“Third Level Tribulator? That’s quite formidable! How impressive…” Cloud couldn’t help but chuckle when he noticed the self-satisfied look on Xandros’ face. With Jared’s current strength, handling a Third Level Tribulator cultivator is child’s play! How audacious of Xandros to try and flaunt his power in front of us!
Xandros looked at Cloud and questioned, “Who are you?”
“I’m Cloud. Stellaris Sect belongs to my family,” Cloud replied coldly.
“I see. You’re from Stellaris Sect, which explains why there’s an airship. But rather than conducting business, why did you lot come to Imperial Beast City? Are you attempting to meddle in our affairs as well?” Xandros inquired.
He then issued a stern threat to Cloud without mincing his words. “Listen closely. The matters between us and Imperial Beast City do not concern Stellaris Sect. I strongly suggest you return to where you came from in that airship of yours. Otherwise, I won’t hesitate to take action against Stellaris Sect as well.”
Xandros dismissed Stellaris Sect as inconsequential, believing he could just dispatch a random troop, and they would obliterate Stellaris Sect with ease. After all, a minor sect posed no threat to the might of Norwal City.
“You’re still threatening me even though your own fate is sealed? How ridiculous!” Cloud’s laughter carried a chilling edge as he mocked Xandros for still remaining oblivious to the impending danger.
“My fate is sealed? Haha! That’s quite amusing, don’t you think? In fact, I believe it’s the two of you who have your fates sealed!” With that declaration, Xandros took a step back and ordered, “Mr. Quayle, capture Jared and pin him
on the flagpole tomorrow. We shall make him a sacrifice.” Hearing that, Remus nodded and then turned
his attention to Jared. “Hey, you brat! What are the two of you doing sneaking around here? Tell me the truth, and I won’t torment you. If you won’t tell, then don’t blame me for not being merciful,”
With that, he emitted a powerful surge of energy which swept toward Cloud. Cloud was propelled through the air by the assault and crashed onto the ground.
However, the attack didn’t inflict much harm on him, and he slowly rose to his feet again. Remus had targeted Cloud to intimidate Jared. Jared expressed his concern, “Are you okay, Cloud?”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Chance. I’m fine.” Cloud shook his head.
“Tit for tat. Looks like I should do the same to them…” A faint smile graced Jared’s countenance.
Suddenly, the formidable energy within him erupted and shot skyward. Before Remus could react, the overwhelming power had already surged toward Xandros.
The impact sent Xandros hurtling through the air before crashing heavily onto the ground.
