A Man Like None Other Chapter 3169

Just as Hosen left, Xandros saw a streak of fire appearing above Imperial Beast City. Swiftly, Xandros pointed at the flame in the air. “Dad, look! Someone’s escaping from Imperial Beast City. Maybe they’re calling for reinforcement.”

When Lucian lifted his head and spotted that, he furrowed his brows. Seeing that his father didn’t reply, Xandros asked again, “Dad, should we stop it?”

Lucian remained silent, his gaze fixed on the flame. After a while, he waved his hand. “No, we don’t need to.”

“Why not, Dad?” Xandros was confused. “Whatever is that must be someone dispatched by Imperial Beast City to summon reinforcement! They think that by doing this we won’t know.”

“That’s not a member of Imperial Beast City. That’s the phoenix!” replied Lucian. “Phoenix?” Xandros was stunned for a moment. “It’s been years since it appeared! Why is it suddenly here at Imperial Beast City? Is it because-”

“No need to speculate because it’s definitely not what you think. Ignore the reason for its presence here and command the others to attack now.” A cold look swirled in Lucian’s eyes.

He suddenly had an ominous feeling that something bad was going to happen, so he didn’t want any further delays. Xandros nodded and unleashed a palm strike,. which generated an explosion in the air.

That thundering sound spurred Norwal City’s army to advance. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers started marching toward Imperial Beast City.

Meanwhile, a guard sprinted toward Yuven and reported, “Bad news, Your Majesty! King Lucian’s army has begun to attack!”

Yuven frowned and hastily exited the hall to ascend the city tower. When he arrived at the top, he gazed at the sight before him and saw tens of thousands of soldiers from Norwal City marching uniformly toward his city.

In front of the army were various demon beasts. growling. Yuven was aware that those beasts were part of Lucian’s vanguard. Their goal was to gauge the enemy’s capabilities..

If Imperial Beast City didn’t even have the guts to face Lucian’s vanguard, it would demoralize the troops within the city. However, if Yuven dispatched his soldiers to eradicate those beasts, he’d be throwing their lives away.

Yuven’s strategy was to buy as much time as possible for Feenix so that she could contact the other kings before it was too late.

Ivasha glanced at Yuven. Knowing what her father was worried about, she whistled. Soon, a figure arrived beside her. That person was the furry Leifr.

“Leifr, I command you to lead your wolf army to hold off the enemy!” ordered Ivasha.

“Understood!” replied Leifr without hesitation. It was impossible for Leifr’s wolves to block the march of an army of ten thousand. Despite knowing that would spell his death, he did not hesitate.

Just as he turned around, ready to leap down, Ivasha held back her tears and said, “Be careful, Leifr.”

Wordlessly, Leifr nodded and jumped down. Following that, he let out a howl. A moment later, thousands of Demon Wolves rushed toward him from all directions in the city. Those Demon Wolves growled as they defended the gate.

Xandros’ lips curled in disdain. “Dad, what is Imperial Beast City trying to do? Do they think that amount of Demon Wolves can stop the advancement of our mighty troops? What a joke!”

Lucian did not relax and explained, “Those Demon Wolves aren’t there to block our path. They’re meant to boost morale.”

“What do you mean?” Xandros didn’t understand his father’s words.

“Those Demon Wolves are well aware they will die trying, but they won’t back away. They want all the soldiers in Imperial Beast City to witness their courage, hoping that’ll inspire hope. I must say, Yuven’s quite ruthless. He doesn’t care if his subordinates are eliminated to achieve that goal.” Lucian sounded impressed.
