Many people started to flee, but there was no way to escape from such a place.
“Hmph! They’re just evil spirits! There’s no need to be scared,” Fayzon said disdainfully. What can these evil spirits do even if they follow us around, anyway? They’re lacking in strength and can’t possibly do us any harm.
However, Fayzon quickly realized that something was not right because there seemed to be a glimmer of light amid the black fog. Immediately after that, he saw an oddly-shaped beast that emitted a dazzling light from the top of its head.
“These are not evil spirits! These aren’t-”
When Zordey realized this, he began to shout. Montane Daemon and the others stared wide- eyed at this strange beast. They were clearly in shock as well.
“What kind of strange beast is this? It looks horrifying,” said Cloud, still reeling from the shock. He could see the light shining from the beast’s head. It had a long mouth like an eagle’s beak, as well as a pair of wings that flapped endlessly, creating waves of howling gales. The beast was also covered in silver feathers.
“This is an ancient silverfeather hawk. What is it doing here? Do such ancient beasts still exist?” exclaimed Montane Daemon after getting a proper look at the creature.
He had seen an entry about this beast in some ancient records. This beast was very ferocious and lived on the top of Revenant Mountain. It never descended from the peaks. However, many cultivators had captured and tamed the silverfeather hawk and turned these beasts into pets or mounts.
Revenant Mountain was located in the Celestial Realm. So why did this beast suddenly appear in the Ethereal Realm?
Typically, a silverfeather hawk had to be accompanied by its master. As Montane Daemon was mulling over this, the silverfeather hawk had already launched an attack on Fayzon, Zordey, as well as the others.
“D*mn it! There are so many people around! Why did it have to target us?” cursed Zordey as he started to run for dear life.
Fayzon appeared visibly worried as well, but he did not run away. Instead, as the silverfeather hawk swooped down at him, he quickly evaded the attack.
When the silverfeather hawk realized that Fayzon had dodged the attack, it merely glanced at Fayzon before setting its sight on Zordey once more.
Zordey began to flee for his life again. The silverfeather hawk let out a strange cry, and soon, the cultivators began to scream and fall to their knees. Immediately after that, they were gobbled up by the silverfeather hawk with no traces left behind..
“Hurry! Stop it!”
When Zordey saw this, he hurriedly issued a command to the Zupakie family’s subordinates, telling them to stop the silverfeather hawk.
Yet, who was going to care in this situation? The subordinates of the Zupakie family were trembling in fear.
“Mr. Leaveden! Save me! Help!”
Zordey had no choice but to ask Fayzon, but the latter pretended not to hear him. Fayzon was not going to put himself in danger for Zordey’s sake.
Zordey was now dumbfounded. He had assumed that if he were willing to serve as Fayzon’s lackey, Fayzon would be able to help him.
Unfortunately, he had gotten ahead of himself. Seeing that he had no way to escape, Zordey chose to stop running. He glared at the silverfeather hawk in an icy rage.
“Why are you only pursuing me, you foul beast? Are you just picking on me? Well, I’m going to teach you a lesson today!”
The Top Level Body Fusion Realm aura started to flow out of Zordey’s body. Following the explosion of Zordey’s aura, the traces of blood in his body were forced out before condensing into a blood orb.
Zordey’s body began to wither quickly as if it were being completely drained of its blood. There was a bloody mist around him that continued to condense into multiple blood orbs.
“What is Zordey trying to do?” asked Cloud when he saw what was happening. He seemed completely bewildered. “He’s saving his own skin,” said Montane Daemon with a faint smile.
They watched as the countless blood orbs began to gain human forms that looked remarkably like Zordey.
The auras they exuded were also exactly the same. Zordey’s body resembled a shriveled balloon, and he collapsed to the ground.
