At that turn of events, Quinley’s face promptly went as black as thunder. “You’re a member of the Tall family?” Jared looked at her in surprise. Quinley nodded. “Yes. But regretfully, even the Tall family can’t save me now.”
Self-derision was written all over her face. She had never expected the weight of the Tall family to fall short of her expectations. After all, she seldom ventured out and had little understanding of the world out there.
“The Tall family can’t save you, but I can. However, you must promise to give me the entire ice soul fragment,” Jared said calmly from within the arcane array.
Quinley gaped at him in disbelief. He’s already in hot water himself right now. How could he still say such a thing?
“Haha… Have you lost your mind, kid? You’re currently trapped in an arcane array and will be dead soon. Yet, you dared to boast. I’m going to crush you to death in the arcane array now. Let’s see how you’re going to save her!”
The one-eyed man waved his hand, manipulating the arcane array to shrink incessantly. The light curtains closed in on Jared. In the face of the light curtains that kept compressing, Jared remained as calm as ever.
“You want to trap me with this shabby arcane array? If I want to go out, even the greatest arcane array won’t be able to keep me from doing so!”
On the heels of that, a ray of white light flared to life in his palm. Then, he shot his hand out and struck the light curtains.
With just that single blow, the light curtain arcane array that was shrinking continuously instantly shattered like glass before disappearing into nothingness.
“How is this possible?” The sight of Jared smashing the formation plate he had bought at a high price with a single strike had shock showing on the one-eyed man’s face. Likewise, the other two men wore expressions of incredulity.
It was clear as day that Jared must be a high-level master of arcane arrays since he managed to break it effortlessly. That was the only reason he could accomplish the feat so easily.
“I never thought that you’re also a master of arcane arrays,” the one-eyed man said with a frown.
“I’m not just a master of arcane array. I know a lot of things. Since you want to trap me with an arcane array, I’ll also give you a taste of this arcane array.”
With that said, Jared started gesturing with his fingers. Rays of light descended from the sky and swiftly surrounded the one-eyed man. Seeing that, the one-eyed man quickly brandished the weapon in his hand, swinging it at the arcane array forcefully.
But no sooner had it come into contact with the edge of the arcane array than he was sent flying by an immense force. Immediately after, streams of flames jetted from within the arcane array.
“Ahh!” The one-eyed man began to scream desperately, never having expected Jared to be a high-level master of arcane arrays. The other two men were terrified to the core upon seeing his condition. They spun on their heels and fled.
Jared stared at the two men, but he did not give chase. Instead, he waited quietly until the arcane array slowly vanished and the flames gradually extinguished.
If the trio had attacked him together, he might not have been their match. He had no absolute confidence to handle three cultivators at Fifth Level Body Fusion Realm at the same time.
Therefore, he had used his ultimate technique right off the bat earlier, trapping the one-eyed man with an arcane array before burning him to death with demonic fire. After all, cultivators of the man’s cultivation level were not afraid of ordinary fire.
Fortunately, the remaining two men did not recognize demonic fire or discern his intentions. They were so terror-stricken that they turned tail and fled.
Jared took everything the one-eyed man left behind before turning his gaze to Quinley. Right then, Quinley’s eyes were filled with horror as she looked at the man.
She had never expected him to be so powerful that he was not even concerned about three cultivators at Fifth Level Body Fusion Realm.
“Now that you’re safe, give me the ice soul fragment,” Jared said, holding his hand out to her. However, Quinley hesitated. That was only natural as the ice soul fragment was a priceless treasure, and no one would be willing to hand it over easily after securing it.
