Chapter 2865 Exactly The Same
Whoosh! Rays of light flashed in the sky, cutting through the air as they slashed the ice bear. The ice bear let out an ear-splitting roar. Gusts of wind and snow swirled around its body, and it charged toward the light.
Beau was totally stunned upon seeing the swing of the sword by Jared. He had never expected the man, who was only at Second Level Body Fusion Realm, to be capable of unleashing such a powerful strike.
Even Vasily and the others were shocked at that sight since they had never witnessed Jared’s true capabilities.
As the ice bear charged toward the rays of light in the air, icicles shot out from its body without warning. Like bullets, they whizzed toward Jared at lightning speed.
Jared flicked his wrist lightly. Immediately, the icicles turned into powder and scattered into the air like snowflakes.
Seeing that, the ice bear promptly screeched to a stop in its initial forward charge. It whirled around and took off. It seemed to have sensed danger, knowing that the man before it was not easy prey.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
With a sneer, Jared leaped into the air. He brought the Dragonslayer Sword in his hand down, and a brilliant light shot out. Before the ice bear could even cry out in agony, it was cut in half by that sharp ray of light.
Subsequently, Jared waved his hand. A beast core brimming with spiritual energy fell into his palm. Everyone gaped at the ice bear that had been severed in half by a swing of the sword. Beau especially was shocked.
“Let’s go!” Having said that to Vasily, Jared started walking forward. He had just taken a few steps when Beau snapped back to his senses and quickly chased after him.
“Wait a moment, Mr. Chance! Please wait!” he shouted at the top of his lungs. “Is something else the matter?” Jared asked.
“Mr. Chance, you’re also searching for the treasure, aren’t you? We can travel together. While you have the treasure map, it’s no use even if you were to find it. A special key is required to unlock it. Without the key, there’s no way to enter the place,” Beau whispered.
Jared was taken aback for a moment. He had never thought the man was also aware of the need for a key to unlock the treasure.
“Oh, you sound as if you have the key to unlock the treasure?” Jared questioned in feigned curiosity. “Of course! Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gone in search of the treasure.”
Beau took out an emerald badge from his pocket. Not only was the emerald badge whole, but it was exactly the same as the one in Jared’s hands. It was as though they were carved out of the same mold.
Jared was absolutely stumped as he stared at the emerald badge in Beau’s hand. He could not fathom what exactly was going on.
He glanced at Vasily, hoping that the latter could provide an explanation as to why Beau also had an emerald badge. However, Vasily likewise wore an expression of befuddlement on his face. He shook his head at Jared, seemingly lost as well.
“This emerald badge of yours is the key to the treasure, Beau?” Jared asked in feigned skepticism.
“Of course! Without this, you can’t unlock the treasure even if you find it!” Beau said with confidence etched across his features.
“Where did you get this, then?” Jared asked further.
“I can’t tell you that. Anyway, you only need to know that without me, you can’t enter the place even if you find the treasure.”
Beau was still somewhat wary of Jared, so he did not reveal the emerald badge’s origin.
“Can I have a look at it?” Jared asked.
“Sure!” Without hesitation, Beau handed the emerald badge to him. Jared infused a strand of spiritual sense in the emerald badge. A moment later, he returned it to the man.
Although that emerald badge was exactly the same as his, there was still a difference. There was no demonic aura in it.
