Chapter 2759 Take Off
Yuven analyzed. After all, those who could ride the airship to Jipsdale were no ordinary people. “Jared, you want to save the wyverns that are pulling the airship?”
Although Yuven had spoken in a low voice, Viola still heard him. Jared nodded. He saw no reason to hide anything from Viola.
“Don’t be ridiculous. These wyverns are extremely important to Stellaris Sect. It’s impossible for you to save them here. If you save them, we might not be able to get out of Stellaris Sect. Although Stellaris Sect mainly focuses on business, they have numerous elite fighters in their ranks. Otherwise, outsiders would have schemed to attain Stellaris Sect’s assets a long time ago,” Viola warned Jared.
“If we can’t make a move here, then let’s do it on our way. I have to save these wyverns!” Jared insisted.
Viola gazed at his determined expression for a moment. Although she did not know why Jared insisted on saving the wyverns, she decided to show him her support since he was adamant about it.
After all, a wife would go along with what the husband said. Now that Viola saw herself as Jared’s woman, she was certainly going to support him in anything he wanted to do.
“In that case, we’ll find a way to save them midway. We mustn’t let these passengers find out about our plan to release the wyverns, or else they’ll target us,” Viola said.
“Are these people all heading toward Jipsdale to attend the Alchemist Fair? They’re not all alchemists, are they?”
Jared was perplexed. He thought that sects that focused on alchemy were a rare sight here, and yet, there were so many from this region heading toward Jipsdale. “Not all of them are alchemists. Many are only heading there for entertainment and to find out if they can get their hands on some divine pills and miracle medicine. Some will even discuss collaborations with certain alchemical sects at the Alchemist Fair,” Viola explained.
Jared finally realized that not only was the Alchemist Fair a chance for alchemists to compare against each other, but it was also a way for the alchemists to market their products.
“Then do you know how many wyverns Stellaris Sect has?” Jared asked. “I don’t.” Viola shook her head. After all, she had been in a coma for years, and there were many things she was not aware of.
“Sir, Stellaris Sect only has these three wyverns. It’s hard to capture this kind of wyvern, so the tickets to ride an airship drawn by wyverns are sold at an exorbitant price. But they’ll only let the wyverns pull an airship when it’s a short course.
After all, the wyverns won’t be able to withstand pulling the airship on long-distance trips. Many airships use arcane arrays powered by crystals. The tall mountain at the southwest of Stellaris Sect has crystals, and the people from Stellaris Sect have been mining it,” Crixus, the eldest of the Three Bandits, explained.
When Jared learned that Stellaris Sect only had three wyverns, he felt much more relieved. All he needed to do was save these three wyverns.
If there were more, Jared might not have the capability to save them all. “Ladies and gentlemen, please be seated. The airship is about to take off,” said one of Stellaris Sect’s staff. Soon, the airship started moving. Jared could see one of Stellaris Sect’s members whipping the wyverns with much force.
The second the whip struck the three resting wyverns, they let out howls of agony. Then, they slowly rose and flapped their wings.
The three wyverns flapped their wings as vigorously as they could, and the airship of over a hundred meters in length started moving.
It was apparent that the three wyverns were having a hard time lifting the airship, but the members of Stellaris Sect did not care at all. They continued whipping the wyverns.
Jared could not stop the murderous look creeping into his eyes. He desperately wished to dart over to the man and kill him.
After a few minutes of struggling, the wyverns finally lifted the airship off the ground and slowly brought it into the sky.
