The next morning, Yuven was woken up by a loud commotion. and he was displeased. “Who’s making all the noise outside? I can’t sleep for-”
“Bad news, Your Majesty!” Julius rushed into Yuven’s chamber in a panic. Typically, without Yuven’s permission, no one was allowed to enter his chamber. However, Julius had just barged in without hesitation.
“What’s going on, Mr. Poulsen? What happened?” Yuven knew something had happened when he spotted the look on Julius’ face. “I bring terrible news, Your Majesty! Xandros is leading an army from Norwal City to attack Imperial Beast City!”
“What?” Yuven sprang up from the bed when he heard that. “Is Xandros the only one leading the army? Is King Lucian with him?” “I didn’t see King Lucian. Tigerus is holding off the attackers with the royal guards!”
Yuven sighed in relief. “It’s been over two years since a conflict of this scale took place. What is Xandros trying to do? There’s no way he can defeat us without his father’s aid.” I don’t believe he can take down Imperial Beast City on his own with an army! If he can, then it’s time for someone else to take my place!
“What’s happening, Father?” asked Ivasha after she was woken up by the noise outside too. “Xandros is attacking Imperial Beast City with his army,” Yuven answered.
“What? Is he crazy? Is it because I refused to marry him?” Ivasha was shocked because she didn’t expect Xandros to be that bold.
“Let’s save the speculation for later and check out the situation for now. If Xandros is attacking rashly because of a grudge, then I’ll punish him a little and forget about it. However, if this is something he has been planning for a long while, and his father is aware of it. then it’s an official declaration of war between our two cities!”
Yuven hurriedly headed toward the gate with Ivasha. At that moment, outside the humongous gate, Xandros was leading an army of soldiers and generals from above an elephant more than ten meters tall.
Tigerus was leading the royal guards, standing by and staring at the army before them. When he spotted Yuven, he warned, “This place is too dangerous, Your Majesty. You should return to the palace!”
“I’m not in danger if Xandros is the only one leading the army here. He can do nothing to me!” Yuven said arrogantly. Standing on top of the city wall, Yuven stared at Xandros, who was below him.. coldly. “Are you attacking Imperial Beast City at the behest of your father, Xandros?”
“Of course! You broke your promise and toyed with Norwal City! There’s no way my father will forgive you, you old fart!” Xandros growled.
“You have some nerve to speak to my father like that, Xandros! Do you think I can’t kill you?” Ivasha was enraged when she heard Xandros calling her father an old fart.
Xandros cackled and mocked, “Do you really think you can me? Can’t you see I’ve surrounded Imperial Beast City with my army?”
“No matter how many people you bring with you, it’ll still be easy for me to eliminate you! In fact, I can do it within a single breath! However, I’m giving you and your army a chance to return to where you came from. Once I lose my temper, none of you will be able to escape my wrath! To think you believe you can succeed in conquering Imperial Beast City with that few people! How absurd!” Disdain was written all over Yuven’s face.
He didn’t take Xandros seriously as a threat at all. If he wanted to end Xandros’ life right there and then, he could. Xandros’ army didn’t intimidate him because they were no different from ants in his perspective.
