The sight of Jared exuding such confidence left Ghaylen utterly speechless. After all, Jared was merely a cultivator of the Manifestation Level. Although he possessed considerable skill in alchemy, that did not necessarily translate to the same level of overall prowess.
Yet, he was underestimating a warrior of the Body Fusion Realm. Ghaylen couldn’t comprehend just who Jared really was, to possess such unwavering confidence.
Conversely, Sigurd merely eyed Jared without saying anything further. Of everyone there, he was the one who understood the man’s capabilities best.
Although Ghaylen was unaware of the full extent of Jared’s abilities, he was confident that Jared could handle Bilius, considering that Jared himself had affirmed as much. “I’ll go with you, Mr. Chance. If anything happens, I might be of help.”
He decided to go with Jared to seek Bilius out. Nothing could be allowed to happen to the man. Otherwise, it would also be the end of him.
“Bring some men with you and go with Mr. Chance, Zebediah. This is not a battle between Mr. Chance and Bilius but one that would decide whether we can hold our heads up in the Emerald Cauldron Sect!” Ghaylen said to Zebediah.
At present, everyone knew that Jared had acknowledged Ghaylen as his master and was the latter’s disciple. Thus, the duel between him and Bilius was akin to a battle between Ghaylen’s and Ebenez’s ranks.
If Jared won, all those under Ghaylen’s command could hold their heads up and enjoy an elevation of status in the Emerald Cauldron Sect.
“Understood!” Zebediah gave a dip of his head. Before long, they embarked on their journey to the inner court of Emerald Cauldron Sect. With Sigurd in their company, they encountered no obstructions as they traversed the outer court.
However, many people followed behind them as though anticipating a show, gossiping among themselves. “I heard that Mr. Samoll’s home has been demolished by Bilius. It looks like his disciples are here to seek revenge.”
“In their dreams! Didn’t you hear that Bilius has broken through to the Body Fusion Realm? I reckon he’d be the principal disciple of the Emerald Cauldron Sect in the future, and Sigurd would be forced to step down.”
“Mr. Erdell’s and Mr. Samoll’s disciples are certain to go up against each other this time. But rumor has it that it’s because of a new disciple named Jared. It’s going to be an interesting show.”
Numerous disciples trailed behind, hoping to watch the show.
When Jared and the others arrived at Bilius’ residence, Sigurd whispered to Jared, “Bilius probably only attained a breakthrough because he consumed an Elementum Totum Pill, Mr. Chance. Such a pill is a high-level pill in Emerald Cauldron Sect. As such, he likely took it secretly. I’ll go and check the warehouse now while you’re here to seek him out. If my guess is true, he can be punished by the sect’s rules. Then, you don’t need to duel with him.”
After saying that, he surreptitiously headed toward the warehouse. Meanwhile, Zebediah stepped forward to knock on the door and call Bilius out, but Jared commanded sharply, “Kick the door down.”
Zebediah was taken aback. Glancing back over his shoulder at the latter, he ultimately nodded and shot his leg out at the door before him. Following that kick, the door fell to the ground with a deafening crash.
Right then, Bilius was leisurely sipping wine. He initially thought that he would only be able to break through to the Body Fusion Realm after the medicinal pool was opened. Unexpectedly, he gained a surprise windfall before that even happened.
Considering the fact that I’ve already broken through to the Body Fusion Realm, my capabilities would improve significantly following a dip in the medicinal pool after it’s opened. Then, I’d be the sect leader of Emerald Cauldron Sect in the future!
As he was fantasizing about the future, a resounding bang from outside jolted him out of his thoughts. He hastily cast his eyes out the door.
By then, two of Ebenez’s disciples had already. sprinted to the door to see what had happened. However, no sooner had they reached the door than they were knocked to the ground with a slap from Jared.
Since Bilius could beat Ghaylen’s disciples up as he pleased, Jared had no qualms about doing the same to Ebenez’s disciples.
