Jared followed Xavier to the Department of Justice and into Arthur’s office. Upon arriving, Xavier left tactfully. “Have a seat,” Arthur said when he saw Jared.
Jared sized Arthur up and noticed how healthy the latter looked. Mr. Sanders’ aura seems stable, and he doesn’t look sick. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t look like he’s dying!
“Mr. Sanders, you look very healthy. One month is almost up, no? That means you should be fine, right?” Jared asked. “Who told you I would die of illness?” Arthur chuckled.
“Huh? How will you die, then? You’re strong enough to defeat anyone in the mundane world. No one is capable of killing you, right?” Jared asked.
“Haha! Well, it’s true that no one in the mundane world is capable of killing me. However, it’s my fate. When the time comes, I’ll meet my maker.” Arthur laughed. Jared was confused when he saw Arthur laughing. How can Mr. Sanders still laugh? Is he not afraid of dying?
“Mr. Sanders, since you already know when you’re dying, why don’t you defy your destiny? Can’t you just stay put on that fateful day?” Jared questioned.
Arthur shook his head in response. “That’s my destiny, though. If I don’t die that day, chaos will be brought upon the world, and others will die. Sometimes, we should just accept our fate.”
Jared was rendered speechless. I don’t get it. Destiny? What did Mr. Sanders mean by that? Why will chaos be brought upon the world if he lives on?
I shouldn’t let this miserable topic affect Jared’s mood. Arthur quickly changed the topic when he saw Jared keeping mum. “Have you just returned from Ethereal Realm?” Arthur asked. Jared nodded and asked in disbelief, “How did you know I was in Ethereal Realm?”
“Haha! That’s easy. Your body is filled with the aura from Ethereal Realm! Besides, you have the energy of a gold apatite in your body.” Arthur laughed out loud.
Upon hearing that, Jared could only glance at Arthur in astonishment. Mr. Sanders is incredible! He was in the mundane world the entire time! No matter how strong he is, he shouldn’t know so much about Ethereal Realm.
“Mr. Sanders, how do you know so much about Ethereal Realm? Also, do you know about the gold apatite as well?” Jared queried. “I know Ethereal Realm like the back of my hand.” Arthur flashed a faint smile.
Jared was stupefied when he heard those words. “A-Are you from Ethereal Realm? If that’s the case, why did you come to the mundane world?” Jared asked.
Arthur merely chuckled in response. Instead of answering Jared’s question, he said, “Seven days later, the Spiritual Energy Restoration Formation will be activated, so you ought to be prepared. As of now, there are still certain things you shouldn’t know about. When you become the strongest one day, perhaps you’ll be able to see the things you can’t see today.”
Jared fell into deep thought when he heard those words. I feel like no matter how hard I work and how strong get, I’ll never be Mr. Sanders’ match. In the end, I’ll still need him to protect me. I’ve known him for a long time, but I still don’t know who he really is. Heck, I don’t even know if his name is real! It’s as though Mr. Sanders is a familiar stranger. After chatting with Arthur for a while more, Jared left the Department of Justice and returned to Deragon Sect.
