Jared remained silent. A cold glint flitted across the depths of his eyes as he tightened his grip around Dragonslayer Sword.
“Stop!” As Yona was about to place his hand on Jared’s head, and Jared was preparing to retaliate, at bellow interrupted Yona. Yona hurriedly turned around and saw Wrey and the others had caught up.
At the sight of the newcomers, Yona was obviously a little shocked. Similarly astounded was Jared. Initially, Jared planned to kill Yona first before dealing with Isaac. Now that Wrey and his party were there, Jared wasn’t their match, even if he possessed Ultimate Force.
D*mn it! Am I fated to die here? Jared couldn’t help but curse inwardly. Noticing Wrey, Yona retracted his hand and asked, “Mr. Lindt, why are you here?”
“Yona, are you plotting something by leaving the group with Isaac and coming here? Or perhaps there are some secrets you don’t want to let us know?” Wrey asked with a sneer.
“What are you talking about, Mr. Lindt? What secret could there be? We came here to track down Jared. We want to kill this b*stard to avenge your son, Mr. Lindt! If there are too many people, I’m afraid Jared will notice and be alarmed,” Yona hurriedly explained. However, he was actually lying because he didn’t want Wrey and the others to know his secret.
“Yes, Yona is right. We came here to pursue Jared. In fact, we’ve already caught him. I even lost an arm because of this. This brat tried to run, but we stopped him,” Isaac quickly elaborated further.
“Isaac, don’t think I don’t know what you’re trying to do by making up excuses to leave the group. Since we’ve agreed to form a team, no one should have a hidden agenda. You’ve been seeking and killing phantoms along the way. Do you think we wouldn’t notice?
Besides, you’re here because the phantoms are crawling out from this place, and you can kill more phantoms. It’s just a coincidence that you ran into Jared hiding here and clashed with him, yet you tell me you want to avenge my son?” Wrey bluntly exposed Yona and Isaac’s doings..
Isaac’s and Yona’s faces turned pale as they listened to Wrey’s words. They knew if the situation was turned against them, they would face serious repercussions. Their sects might even end up like Luminous Sect, getting excommunicated and eventually eradicated.
“Yona, since you could enhance your abilities by killing phantoms, why didn’t you share such a great technique with us? Why did you involve Isaac only? Are you trying to work alone?
It seems like you aren’t that sincere in joining our hidden realm. We were even kind enough to let you replace Luminous Sect’s position. It looks like Demonic Cultivation is evil after all. You ungrateful b*stard!” Hugh said to Yona..
Hearing that, Yona grimaced and immediately explained to Hugh, “Mr. Fairchild, I was wrong. I’m willing to share my technique with everyone!” Hugh smiled and said to Wrey, “Wrey, since they knew they were wrong, we can just let this matter slide. The most important thing right now is to kill Jared and avenge our fallen sons.”
Wrey nodded, then turned to the weakened Jared. “Do you think you can escape today? Is there anyone who can save you now? Any person who I, Wrey Lindt, wish to kill will never get away.”
