“Are you all right, Wrey?” Hugh walked over to the man, looking concerned. Yet, he did not even spared the latter a glance while fleeing. “I’m fine.” Wrey shook his head in dismay.
His chances of exacting revenge were practically zero now that Jared had a Manifestor protecting him. “Since you’re okay, I think you should get changed…”
Hugh pointed toward Wrey’s pants. It was now that the latter finally realized the wet warmth staining his crotch area. Feeling awkward, he hurriedly found a spot to change his clothes. “D*mmit! I can’t believe that geezer is actually a Manifestor, and he’s even protecting Jared like that! Who the hell is Jared?” Wrey cursed.
“I’m just as confused. Since when has there ever been a Manifestor? But still, that old monster’s a killing machine, and yet he let us. off instead of attacking us. That’s really strange,” Hugh remarked.
“Do you guys think that geezer was just putting on an act?” Isaac chimed in. “He could’ve wiped us out with just a wave of a hand, but he didn’t.”
Yona walked over at that very moment. “That’s highly likely. I know that a Level Eight Martial Arts Sovereign can conjure up an image of a Manifestor if he forcefully activates his martial energy, but he’d only look like a Manifestor. He wouldn’t have the same power.”
Wrey and Hugh shot him a cold glance and said. nothing, but Isaac spoke up. “You talk as if you weren’t the first one to run out of there, Yona.”
“I could say the same about the rest of you, so save it,” Yona clapped back. “I don’t think that geezer’s actually a Manifestor. He was probably just trying to scare us.”
Everyone fell silent, and Hugh added a while later, “Yona might be right. I find it weird too. That old monster put up an act just to make us run away.”
“Well, sh*t! Let’s head back to where they were. If they’re gone by the time we get there, that means they were definitely just trying to scare us. I won’t let that old fart off if I see him again,” Wrey declared frostily.
“If it were just an act, that geezer’s organs: would be damaged by now. We’d have nothing to fear,” Isaac surmised. The group quickly headed back, only to find no trace of Jared anymore.
“Sh*t! They really had us back there. I won’t let them off. We’re going after them!” With that, Wrey and his crew began the hunt of Jared and his gang. Elsewhere, Jared and the others had converged with Matthew after picking some herbs.
They found a relatively secluded place where Jared produced some pills and gave them out to Yashur, Matthew, and the rest so they could heal more quickly.
Meanwhile, Great Diviner sent out Divination Sect to guard their surroundings. That way, if Wrey and his men were to pursue them, they would find out in the shortest possible time. Jared would then often hunt for more phantoms on his own to strengthen his Ultimate Force.
A few days passed in a blink of an eye as he remained hiding from Wrey while continuously working on his Ultimate Force by killing more. phantoms. At the same time, cold mist continued to surge. from the dark abyss, indicating the endless number of phantoms crawling out of there.
Screams echoed from underneath the altar in the valley of the abyss. This was the place that harbored the most powerful lethal intents and where the phantoms originated from.
It was akin to a gateway to hell, through which the phantoms crawled over. In its deepest trenches where the phantoms emerged non-stop, a shadow clone sat there quietly.
