Unfortunately, his abilities were being suppressed. The portion of both his spiritual energy and the Power of Dragons that he could utilize was very little. Jared had just released his aura to resist but was instantly pushed down to the ground by an immense force.
The tremendous pressure caused cracks to appear beneath Jared’s feet. He lay on the ground, gritting his teeth as his expression became contorted in agony. If it weren’t for his robust physique, Jared would’ve been reduced to a bloody pulp by then.
Wrey retracted his aura and gazed at Jared in slight astonishment. “Is that all you’ve got?” The former furrowed his brows. With that limited capability, how could Jared have killed Avery, let alone Sonyx?
Garthor was also astounded to see Jared in that state. When he first met Jared, the latter wasn’t that weak. “Jared, enough with the pretense. You can’t be this weak. Are you attempting to deceive us with this fragile act?” Garthor questioned Jared, his voice filled with doubt and disbelief.
Jared slowly rose to his feet, a trickle of blood. escaping from the corner of his mouth. However, he chose to remain silent. There was no way he would expose his current condition of having his strength suppressed.
Sensing Jared’s silence, Garthor thrust a palm in the man’s direction. A dazzling surge of martial energy surged forward, striking Jared forcefully in the chest with immense power.
Jared furrowed his brows and swiftly mobilized the Power of Dragons, attempting to activate his Golem Body technique. Golden lights erupted as a layer of shimmering golden scales began to envelop Jared’s entire body.
However, to Jared’s dismay, the moment the golden scales formed and enveloped his body, he felt the Power of Dragons quickly dissipating. His body weakened, and the Golem Body he had just activated dissipated into thin air.
Bam! The force of the palm strike sent Jared hurtling backward, his body crashing through more than a dozen trees as they snapped and splintered in his path. The momentum carried him until he collided forcefully with a massive rock, his body coming to a sudden and painful stop..
Jared felt his internal organs churning and spat out a mouthful of blood. “How could this be?”
Garthor took in the scene in disbelief. He hadn’t even exerted his full strength earlier, yet his attack had left Jared unable to retaliate. “His aura is scattering. It seems he’s injured, so he couldn’t gather his power,” Hugh piped up at that moment.
He had been observing Jared. As he witnessed Jared’s failed attempt to harness the Power of Dragons and activate Golem Body, Hugh couldn’t help but notice that the dissipation of power was not due to Jared’s inherent weakness. Instead, it seemed that Jared was unable to concentrate his energy effectively for some unknown reason.
“I don’t care if he’s weak or injured or can’t garner his power. Someone must answer for my son’s death. I will avenge my son today!” With that, Wrey swung his hand at Jared.
As Wrey unleashed his power as a Martial Arts Sovereign, the atmosphere around him shifted dramatically. The sky darkened, and the ground quivered beneath his immense aura. With a single gesture, a colossal palmprint materialized in the air, descending upon Jared with an overwhelming force, akin to a mountain descending from the heavens.
The tremendous pressure emanating from the descending palmprint bore down on Jared, pushing him forcefully into the ground. The sheer weight of the attack immobilized him completely, preventing any chance of him rising to his feet.
Jared lay on the ground as the bones within him protested with agonizing creaks. The substantial pressure was shattering his body, causing blood to seep out of his skin.
Glancing at the giant palmprint in the air, the realization of his impending demise washed over him. The aura of death permeated the air, and he could feel its icy grip tightening around him. I’m on the brink of death!
As Jared’s life teetered on the edge, his mind became a canvas on which memories and images painted themselves with vivid clarity. Faces of women surfaced in his mind, one after another.
In the midst of the swirling memories and impending darkness, a familiar figure emerged from the depths of Jared’s consciousness. It was his mother, her gentle smile radiating warmth and comfort as she slowly approached him.
Jared also saw his father, a formidable presence with a towering stature. However, a veil of obscurity shrouded the man’s face, preventing Jared from gaining a clear view. Even so, Jared found solace in the memories of his loved ones. A sense of contentment washed over him, and a faint smile graced his lips.
“It seems like I need to find a new host…” Ranzoph’s voice rang out. He couldn’t help Jared as he wasn’t even considered a spirit at that instant..
