A Man Like None Other Chapter 2246

After the group got a night’s rest in the forest, Godrick managed to recover most of his strength. Hence, Jared planned to continue his escape with Flaxseed and Godrick at the first break of dawn.

Just as they were about to leave, the arcane arrays set up by Flaxseed were suddenly triggered. The continuous firing of infernos was quickly followed by screams of men.

“Jared, someone’s here. We have to move,” Flaxseed suggested frantically, to which Jared nodded in acknowledgment. Just as they were about to leave with Godrick, they heard someone swearing. “Who the f*ck has set up arcane arrays in the middle of the forest?”

The voice caused Jared to stop in his tracks and sped toward the direction of the arcane array. Flaxseed and Godrick, too, followed behind him.

By the time Jared arrived, he saw Archer and Skyler burnt by Flaxseed’s arcane array. Despite their strength, both of them were not experienced in dealing with arcane arrays.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Jared dispelled the arrays with a wave of his hand. At the same time, Archer and Skyler hurried up to Jared once they spotted him. “Why are both of you here?” Jared asked in surprise.

“Mr. Chance, Master has tasked us with leading you away by the sea. Now that the entire surroundings are saturated with your pursuers, it would be impossible for you to escape,” Skyler explained.

“By sea?” Jared was stunned..

“Yes. Once we go over this mountain, we’ll be able to see a vast ocean from where you can leave,” Skyler elaborated. “Why have I not heard any of you mention this before?”

Jared was surprised to learn for the very first time that one could leave the hidden realm by sea. “Very few use that route because demon beasts roam the seas. Anyway, there’s no time to talk now. I’ll tell you more once we leave,” Archer reminded.

Upon nodding in agreement, Jared and his Gompanions left together with Archer. As Archer and Skyler grew up in the area, they were extremely familiar with the lay of the land. Thus, the group arrived at the seaside before they knew it.

Staring out at the sea, Archer casually waved his hand. Countless trees were suddenly broken and fell into the ocean. As the group leaped into the sky, they easily landed on top of the floating logs. Warriors of their skill could travel across the sea without the need for boats.

“Let’s pray this goes smoothly.” Archer looked ahead with a concerned expression. “Mr. Loulland, considering your skills, there’s no need for you to fear demon beasts. In the event you encounter them, you can just kill them and obtain their beast core,” Jared commented.

“You know, the demon beasts aren’t that scary. What I’m afraid of is that old monster. I hope we won’t run into him, or we’ll be in big trouble!” Archer lamented. “Old monster?” Jared was stunned to hear Archer mention such a thing.

“That’s right. Legend has it that an old monster lives on one of the islands here. All the demon beasts in the seas are supposedly raised by him. No one knows when that old monster started to inhabit the island. Whoever passes it would never return. There have also been rumors of them being eaten by him,” Archer explained fearfully.

Finding it hard to believe, Flaxseed sneered, “A man-eating monster? I’m sure it’s just a legend. It’s impossible for someone like this to exist. There’s no way he can tame demon beasts in the ocean as if it’s his backyard!”

“It’s up to you whether you want to believe it or not. I just hope we don’t run into him.”

Without another word, Archer stared ahead with a grim look on his face. He had no idea where the island was, as he had never been there before. As a result, all he could do was pray that they didn’t pass through the island and weren’t noticed by the old monster.
