“Precisely. We’ll let these people deal with the tiger demon. Then, while the tiger demon is gobbling them up, we can take another route to get around it.”
Joel intended to let Jared and the others become the tiger demon’s meal so that he and his companions could sneak past the beast while it was busy devouring its prey!
“Uh… That doesn’t sound like a good idea,” Danny said uneasily.
“Not a good idea? What’s wrong with it? We’re in a life-or-death situation now. Don’t tell me you’re thinking of letting them live and sending us to our deaths?” Joel questioned Danny in a frosty tone while frowning.
Danny did not know what to say in response. Seeing how Danny was standing there motionlessly, Joel personally led the other members toward Jared.
While Jared was feeling frustrated over the knowledge that the tiger demon had been raised by humans and could not be tamed, he noticed that Joel and his men had already surrounded them.
The members of Flaming Sect were all staring menacingly at Jared and his companions while holding weapons.
Joel wore an icy expression as he said, “The tiger demon is blocking the way. Since you chose to follow us, you’ll have to pay a price.”
“What do you mean?” Jared enquired, feigning ignorance. In truth, Jared had guessed what was going on when he noticed Joel and his gang hemming them in.
“Go and fight that tiger demon,” Joel replied bluntly.
Shocked, Anne turned to Joel and demanded, “What? You want us to take on the tiger demon? It’s obvious the creature is utterly vicious. With our rudimentary skills, wouldn’t us trying to fight it mean certain death?”
Joel whipped out a bronze handbell. Then, al burst of hypnotic aura erupted from his body. and instantly engulfed Jared’s group.
“If you go and kill the tiger demon, you might have a chance of survival. If you don’t, however, you’ll undoubtedly perish…”
After he said that, the members of Flaming. Sect glared at Jared and the rest with murderous looks and pointed their weapons directly at them..
If Jared and his companions dared to refuse, they were ready to attack immediately. Infuriated by those words, Anne was about to fly into a rage when Jared stopped her.
“We’re not as strong as you, so don’t you think that asking us to take on the tiger demon doesn’t seem quite right?” Jared asked cautiously.
“Hmph! Right or wrong has nothing to do with this. The law of the jungle rules in our society. Better for you to die than us…”
With that, Joel shook the bronze handbell he was holding, his expression as glacial as ever. The crisp, clear peal of the bell rang out.
Immediately after that, a series of sound waves rippled toward Jared and his companions. “Please stop that! We’ll do it!” Jared hurriedly pleaded.
Joel snorted coldly. “Smart choice. You guys go and fight the tiger demon with everything you’ve got. As soon as we’ve left, you can escape. That way, you’ll at least have a chance to survive.”
Anne’s face flushed red from anger. I can’t believe these are the true colors of Flaming Sect. And yet, they go around promoting themselves by claiming they’re all about saving the world and helping others.
Meanwhile, Jared shot the others a look and started approaching the tiger demon. For someone of his caliber, eliminating the tiger demon would be like a walk in the park.
When Jared and the others walked past Danny, the latter turned away in shame and dared not look at them.
Suddenly, the tiger demon let out a terrifying roar as it watched the group walk up to it, and strong gusts of its aura swept through the air like gales.
Jared waved his palm gently in front of him, and a shield instantly emerged, blocking the waves of aura. Joel turned to Danny and urged, “We should hurry up and get away.”
We must take this opportunity to escape as soon as possible. Based on those people’s capabilities, I know there’s no way they can hold back the tiger demon for long.
Danny had no choice but to follow Joel and the rest. After that, they took another route and continued their journey up the snowy mountain.
