“Hmph! What a bunch of useless fools…” Joel snorted coldly and took out his bronze handbell before he started chanting. The sound waves reverberated through the air and rolled toward the barrier like rising tides, growing increasingly strong as he chanted on.
Boom! Boom!
Boom! The sound waves collided continuously with the barrier, and the barrier trembled under the impact. The huge rebound energy rendered Joel’s face pale.
“Let’s secretly lend them a hand, or I doubt they’ll be able to get in,” Jared whispered to Flaxseed. Flaxseed smiled and took out a charm. He then casually scribbled some strange patterns on it.
The moment Flaxseed let go of his hand, the charm soared into the sky and stuck itself on the barrier. In the blink of an eye, the barrier cracked as if it had received a hard blow.
Joel’s forehead was covered in cold sweat when the barrier collapsed.
“That’s amazing, Mr. Joel!” Danny complimented Joel. “I didn’t expect the arcane array to be this powerful. There must be a lot of magical items in the ruins,” Joel said.
Jared sneered coldly at Joel’s words. In actuality, this supposed arcane array guarding the ruins was not left by Engarder Sect.
If it were developed by Engarder Sect, it wouldn’t have been easily destroyed. Instead, the arcane array was rebuilt by someone who had intruded into Engarder Sect.
Right then, a few men in black were bustling about in the ancient ruins inside the snow mountain. A blond male foreigner with a pair of blue eyes was sitting in the main seat.
Sitting beside him was an elderly clad in a black robe.
Right then, one of the men in black hurried over and reported, “Prince Harold, someone broke through the barrier. The intruders are heading in our direction.”
The man frowned and cast a glance at the elderly beside him.
The elderly, on the other hand, remained unperturbed by the news. “Release the tiger demon. Send our men to stop them. We must not let them enter.”
“Understood.” With that said, the man in black left to carry out the orders. “Mr. Alex, who do you think is capable enough to break through the barrier?” the man asked curiously.
“Prince Harold, there’s no need to be worried. Even if they managed to break through the barrier, they won’t be able to survive the tiger demon’s attack. They would have to tackle dozens of arcane arrays and traps before they could get to us. No one can make it here alive!” said the elderly, Alex, with a confident look on his face.
“Great! We’ve been managing this place for a few months. I wonder when we can enter the tomb of swords? Once I acquire the magic sword, the title of a noble would be mine. Heck, I may even be able to claim the throne,” exclaimed Harold, his eyes gleaming with greed.
“Rest assured, Prince Harold. As long as we have enough crystals, we can break into the tomb of swords in a few months,” Alex promised.
“That’s great. I will ask them to mine more crystals. By the way, my sister may come here looking for King of Herbs. If you see her here, kill her on sight!” Harold said.
“Understood!” Alex nodded.
After Harold left the scene, Alex stepped onto a platform that was built with crystals, and a devious smile appeared on his face.
Meanwhile, Jared and the others had passed through the barrier and were ascending the snow mountain. However, the higher they climbed, the steeper the route was.
A terrifying aura enshrouded them along the journey, and the whole group was constantly on high alert.
All of a sudden, Joel raised his hand and gestured for everyone to stop. “Mr. Joel, what’s the matter?” Danny asked. “We’re in danger. I smell a demon beast…” Joel frowned.
“A demon beast?” Danny’s face changed. “Could it be the tiger demon?” Before Joel could utter a response, a loud tiger roar pierced through the air.
