Before they realized what was going on, Jared’s spirit delivered a punch that landed on Masamura’s black shadow. “Fool, do you think you can control me with your measly skills?” Jared’s soul grabbed Masamura’s shadowy figure and punched it repeatedly.
The glow emanating from Jared’s spirit was so intense that Masamura and Kazuo had to shield their eyes. One could tell how powerful it is just from that glow alone.
“H-He’s too strong,” Masamura gasped in shock and coughed out a mouthful of black blood. It felt like his spirit was being ripped into shreds, but he couldn’t do anything about it.
Boom! Jared’s spirit delivered another powerful blow, launching the menacing black shadow away. Masamura tamped down the pain as he opened his mouth wide, consuming the shadow to reclaim it into his being. Fear penetrated his gaze as he locked eyes with Jared.
Kazuo’s brows furrowed in concentration. Despite knowing that Jared’s physical form was practically indestructible, he was taken aback by the sheer force of Jared’s spirit. I cannot believe why the Soul Searching Technique of a Soul Searching Master failed to control him!
Jared’s spirit re-entered his body. With a mischievous smirk, he quipped, “I think it’s time for you to go home and grow up. Maybe you should drink some more milk!”
Masamura got so furious that he spewed out another mouthful of blood. Meanwhile, Kazuo felt his blood boiling as his aura intensified..
“Brat, I shall kill you today!” Kazuo’s hand suddenly clenched around a katana that seemed ancient as its dark aura emanated a sense of dread.
He flicked his wrist, and the katana promptly came at Jared swiftly! The sharp blade charged toward Jared and appeared before him in the blink of an eye. Seeing that, Jared quickly retreated and fled.
Kazuo snorted and gave chase to Jared as his words echoed in the air, “You won’t be able to escape!”
Seeing that, Jared promptly threw the bottle in his hands out and chanted the spell.
Boom! The bottle shattered with a deafening sound. The spider beast burst out and grew larger with every passing second.
Kazuo halted in his tracks at the sight of the spider beast. “Eat him!” Jared ordered.
The spider beast lunged at Kazuo without a second thought. Jared promptly spun on his heels and took off. He seized the opportunity to get away from Kazuo.
“Ha! This demon beast was brought up by us. I can’t believe you think it can stop us,” Kazuo scoffed. With that, he leaped into the air.
With a wave of his katana, he chopped the spider beast’s tail off. It was clear Kazuo knew the spider beast’s weakness:
Boom! The tail of the spider beast was severed, and its body burst upon impact. Kazuo had killed the huge spider beast with just one swing of his blade!
The sight shocked Jared senseless. After the explosion, an emerald green bead started glowing among the spider beast’s remains:
“It’s a beast core!” Jared spotted the spider beast’s beast core at once. At the same time, Kazuo spotted the beast core and strode forward, about to pick it up.
Jared had originally intended to flee, but he found himself unable to abandon the beast core and stayed put despite his better judgment.
The beast core belonged to a demon beast of the Greater Martial Arts Marquis level! Perhaps it can help me advance to another cultivation level.
With that thought in mind, Jared summoned his Dragonslayer Sword and swung it at Kazuo with all his might.
Kazuo had no idea Jared was bold enough to come back and attack him. Caught off guard, he retreated backward and failed to pick up the beast core. “How dare you return?” he growled as an ugly scowl crept up his face.
Kazuo watched as Jared ignored his threat and sprinted toward the beast core. The latter had put his own life on the line in order to retrieve the beast core.
