Chapter 1636 A Lesson
“Put these away carefully. These are ancient ruin sites with plenty of resources. When the time comes, the Deragons can hold Trials to consolidate their position among the rest.” Jared then gave the stack of notes to Godrick.
Godrick was a little flustered when he received them. He held onto the maps as he looked at Jared in awe. How did he manage to find out the locations of these ruins in the first place?
“I’m going to remain here for a few days. Just go about your business like you normally would. You needn’t worry about me,” added Jared with a wave of a hand. “Very well.”
Godrick nodded frantically and turned around to leave. “Wait, there’s one more thing. Have you been able to access the dungeon?” asked Jared.
Godrick paused and replied, “We can. After Ryker’s death, the arcane array surrounding the dungeon vanished. Are you going to take a look?” Godrick assumed Jared was going to visit the place where his mother was once imprisoned.
However, Jared shook his head. “I’m not. Since the dungeon is accessible, you should store Heavenly Lightning Stones there for safekeeping. Maybe it’ll be of use someday.” “I’ve already had my men put them away,” replied Godrick.
“Okay. That will be all.” When Jared waved his hand again, Godrick left the room. Jared had thought of using the Heavenly Lightning Stones to blow up the Warriors Alliance dungeon as a last resort.
However, Jared had to consider Josephine’s safety. If he was going to blow up the dungeon, then he had to pinpoint the exact location of her cell. While Jared had entered the dungeons twice, the time spent there was too short for him to make a proper observation.
As it stood, entering the dungeon was going to be difficult. Even with the Necro Ring as a teleportation device, he could not break into the dungeon so easily, as Warrior’s Alliance had recently sectioned off some parts of the area.
“I guess I have to find a chance to get a closer look!” Jared stood up and left the room, intending on going for a walk. At the same time, he wanted to see if Fernando had returned.
Fernando was the only person he could ask for information about Violet Cloud Palace. Jared also wanted to contact Flaxseed. If he did intend to uncover Skywrath Sect’s secrets, Flaxseed’s presence could make the job much easier.
Because it was already dark, Jared sought out a small but distinguished restaurant and ordered something to eat. The restaurant was not big, but it was packed to the brim with eager patrons.
Soon, two women seated not far from Jared caught his eye. He realized that they were giving out strong auras. In particular, the auras exuded by these women contained vibrant spiritual energy.
Only cultivators could produce spiritual energy. Martial artists, on the other hand, only radiated martial energy. Jared subconsciously looked at the two women, feeling somewhat dazed.
If not for the fear of being discovered, Jared would have used his spiritual sense to find out if the women were, in fact, cultivators.
“Autumn, look at that creep over there. He keeps staring at us like some kind of pervert. How gross!” exclaimed Hailey. Hailey had long since noticed Jared’s eyes on them.
“Ms. Hargreaves, I think we should finish eating quickly and go home. This man has spiritual energy about him. I think he’s a cultivator as well, and he may have discovered who we are,” whispered Autumn.
“No! I think we should teach this guy a lesson! I want to know what ill-begotten methods he has used to trick so many women. They’re all crazy for him!” hissed Hailey, glaring right at Jared.
Jared raised a brow, his eyes filled with surprise. It was only when Hailey released her spiritual sense that Jared realized she was a Greater Martial Arts Marquis.
Naturally, that came as a shock to him. In the Jadeborough martial arts world, very few youths her age had achieved that rank. In fact, he had not heard of a female Greater Martial Arts Marquis before.
