A Man Like None Other Chapter 1476

Chapter 1476 Immortality

Meanwhile, in the Deragon residence at Jadeborough, Edgar had just finished absorbing the last beast core. There was an immediate change in his aura.

In a month’s time, Edgar had managed to achieve one breakthrough after another and attained the powers of a Fifth Level Martial Arts Marquis.

Even Ryker was nothing compared to him!

However, that was not because Edgar was talented. It was the combination of his spirit and ample resources that led to the sudden improvement in Edgar’s powers.

“Edgar, this is unbelievable! Your power has increased so quickly. You’re a genius. I have never seen anyone who cultivates this fast!” said Ryker excitedly.

From the time Ryker came into contact with Edgar’s spirit, he was filled with envy.

Ryker wished that he had a spirit attached to him too. That would certainly make cultivation a lot easier.

“Dad, it’s a pity that we don’t have enough resources. If not, I could become even more powerful,” said Edgar arrogantly.

Ryker frowned. Edgar had used up all the beast cores they had gotten this time for himself. Ryker had searched everywhere for the resources and gave everything he had found to his son. However, it was still not enough to fulfill Edgar’s cultivation needs. That put Ryker in a difficult position.

Just then, Godrick came over and felt the aura on Edgar’s body. He was envious.

At that moment, there was a world of difference between Edgar and him.

“Congratulations, Mr. Deragon. Your power has increased tremendously,” said Godrick respectfully.

“Godrick, what do you want?”

When Ryker saw Godrick, he knew the latter must be looking for him.

“Old Mr. Deragon…” Godrick called out, but after a glance at Edgar, his voice trailed off.

When Ryker saw that, he knew what Godrick wanted to say. It must have something to do with his sister, Beatrice. All the while, they had kept Edgar in the dark about her. Therefore, Godrick dared not mention her in front of Edgar.

Edgar seemed to sense something amiss. “Dad, are the two of you hiding something from me?”

“Edgar, there are some things I don’t wish for you to find out. But, now that you are older and capable enough, I think it’s time for you to know.”

After Ryker finished talking, he started telling Edgar the truth and even took him to the Deragon residence’s dungeon.

Looking at the creepy dungeon and his locked-up aunt, Edgar found it hard to believe.

As for Beatrice, she was shocked to see Edgar.

After all those years, Beatrice had only seen Ryker and a few others. Ryker had never brought any stranger there before.

At the sight of Edgar, Beatrice appeared to be in shock.

“Edgar, this is your aunt. She has been locked up here for over twenty years,” said Ryker as he pointed at Beatrice.

When Beatrice heard his introduction, she immediately knew that Edgar was Ryker’s son.

“Dad, you said you wanted a secret from her. What is it?” asked Edgar with curiosity.

Despite locking her up for more than twenty years, they had yet to obtain the secret from her. That made Edgar very curious.

“It’s a cultivation method. One that will make a person immortal,” replied Ryker slowly.

“Immortality?”

Edgar was taken aback to hear that.

Even though he might be a Fifth Level Martial Arts Marquis right now, there was no way he could stop his body from aging. It was only a matter of time.

It will be wonderful to be immortal!

“Are you telling me that after twenty years, my aunt still refuses to divulge the secret?” asked Edgar.

Ryker nodded. “That’s right. For the past two decades, I have tried every method, but she refuses to say anything. I have even threatened her with her son, but it’s useless.”

“Her son?” Edgar was stunned.

“Yes. If my guess is correct, Jared should be your aunt’s son, which makes the two of you cousins…”

Edgar’s mind went blank when he heard what Ryker had said.
