Chapter 1369 Truly An Expert
“The Seven Stars Eclipse is one of the layouts for the top ten ancient tombs!” Flaxseed exclaimed in awe. As Jared knew nothing about the Seven Stars Eclipse and the top ten ancient tombs, he had no idea what Flaxseed was talking about.
Honestly, I am deeply impressed by Mr. Flaxseed’s knowledge in tomb exploration! Realizing the look of confusion on Jared’s face, Flaxseed motioned at him to come closer as he taught him all about ancient tombs.
“The top ten ancient tombs all have different layouts. To be honest, there’s nothing too special about these ten ancient tombs. Their layouts are designed with the knowledge of geomancy in mind, which allows them to bless the deceased’s future generations with good luck and prosperity.
This is a relatively high-level technique. Out of the ten ancient tombs, less than three of them are actually dangerous. In order to prevent others from raiding them, the tombs were filled with deadly traps. As most of the people who tried entering those tombs have died, it served as an effective deterrent for tomb raiders. The most famous tomb of all is the one known as ‘Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine Fake Tombs.’
As the name suggests, an immortal had built a thousand tombs before he died. Nine hundred ninety-nine of those tombs were fake ones, and each of them had deadly traps that killed most of those who entered. Not even the descendants of that immortal know the location of his true tomb.
The Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine Fake Tombs were incredibly effective in keeping tomb raiders out as no one was willing to risk their lives with such near-impossible odds. Only immortals with respectable statuses in life are buried in such ancient tombs. As you already know, there aren’t exactly that many immortals out there. I can’t believe we managed to stumble upon one of them.”
Jared’s face was filled with disbelief after hearing what Flaxseed said. He looked up at the ceiling and saw a sun surrounded by seven dazzling pearls.
Oh… This must be the Seven Stars Eclipse he was telling me about.
“I get it now. This stuff on the ceiling is the Seven Stars Eclipse, right? That means this is the Seven Stars Eclipse tomb!” Jared said while pointing at the ceiling.
To his surprise, Flaxseed chuckled and shook his head. “The top ten ancient tombs wouldn’t have earned their reputation if they were that easily identified.”
“Huh? You mean this isn’t how you identify them?” Jared asked awkwardly after a brief pause.
“Of course not! The Seven Stars Eclipse indicates there are seven tombs here. The one we’re in is only one of them! The Seven Stars Eclipse is a ‘ley line’ layout that corresponds to the seven stars. By building the tomb at the best location according to geomancy, one is able to complete the Seven Stars Eclipse layout. The ‘Eclipse’ is where we will find the actual tomb.”
Jared’s jaw dropped when he heard that.
Whoa… I never knew it was this complex! It’s definitely not as simple as I had imagined! Mr. Flaxseed truly is an expert when it comes to this sort of thing! My knowledge is below elementary level compared to his!
“This tomb that we’re currently in… Is it where the immortal is buried?” Jared asked curiously.
Flaxseed shook his head. “I’m not too sure about that. Even if it isn’t, there will still be treasures we can loot.”
Jared breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that. Phew! At least we won’t have come all the way here for nothing!
Flaxseed then led Jared deeper into the ancient tomb and observed their surroundings in detail.
