Chapter 1368 We Have Come Too Far
“Nine Shadows? This is Nine Shadows, isn’t it?” Jared yelled when he saw what was going on. However, the Nine Shadows being performed by this swordsman was quite different from the one Jared learned from Ichiro.
This swordsman’s Nine Shadows is clearly a lot more powerful! With that in mind, Jared wanted to hop off the giant rock and have a chat with the swordsman.
Before he could do so, the scene in front of him instantly shattered like a piece of glass. Jared coughed up a mouthful of blood as he was yanked out of that world.
“Jared, are you okay?” Flaxseed asked with his face all pale. Noticing the charm that was pasted on his forehead, Jared asked with a frown, “What just happened?”
It looked like I was dreaming, but it also felt so real…
“You were affected by the illusion spell due to your weak mental energy. Had I not pulled you out in time, you’d probably be trapped in there forever. Don’t go around touching or staring at stuff, got it? This place is incredibly dangerous!” Flaxseed replied.
As Jared had been pulled out of that world before he could get a clear view of what happened, he couldn’t help but feel tempted to go back inside.
Man, just thinking about that swordsman’s Nine Shadows is enough to get my blood pumping with excitement! The Nine Shadows I’ve learned is complete garbage compared to that!
“No, I need to get back in there…” Jared mumbled as he tore the charm off his forehead and stared directly at the stone tablet. He wanted to return to that world and watch the swordsman complete his execution of Nine Shadows.
Thinking Jared’s mind had been controlled, Flaxseed roared, “What the heck are you doing? Have you gone mad?”
He even tried hitting Jared with a powerful mental energy attack in order to snap him out of it, but Jared kept his gaze fixated on the stone tablet.
“What? How is this possible? Why can’t I get back inside?”
No matter how hard he stared at the stone tablet, Jared couldn’t seem to return to that world.
A few minutes later, Jared let out a helpless sigh and retracted his gaze.
“D*mn it… It’s such a shame…” he mumbled with regret and frustration written all over his face.
Unsure of what had gotten into Jared, Flaxseed simply stared at him in confusion.
After hearing Jared explain everything that happened earlier, the look on Flaxseed’s face changed instantly.
“Jared, I’m starting to think we shouldn’t have entered this immortal’s tomb…”
Flaxseed was starting to get scared as this place was filled with things far beyond their knowledge and comprehension.
“We should at least have a look inside now that we’re here,” Jared replied with a faint smile.
We’ve come too far to back away now!
Flaxseed nodded and continued leading Jared inside the altar where the actual tomb was located.
The ancient tomb was gray in color, and the air inside was rather dank.
“My goodness!” Jared exclaimed in shock when he entered the tomb.
I can’t imagine the cultivation level of the person who built this tomb! The ceiling of the tomb was pitch black and covered in countless Luminous Pearls, which made it look like a starry night sky.
Flaxseed had a stern look on his face as he examined every single corner of the tomb and exercised extreme caution with each step he took.
