Chapter 1365 A Rough Time
“Thank you so much, Mr. Flaxseed! Not only have you rescued Jared, but you also did Crimson Palace a huge favor! Please allow me to express my gratitude…” Cecilia said as she prepared to kneel before Flaxseed.
Flaxseed quickly reached out to stop her from doing so. “This is nothing worth mentioning, Lady Jingle!”
“There’s no need for you to go this far, Ms. Jingle. As a token of appreciation, I’ll let him have an extra ten percent when we split the loot later!” Jared added.
Cecilia stared at them in confusion. “Huh? Loot? What loot?”
Jared and Flaxseed exchanged glances before bursting into laughter.
“Don’t worry about it, Lady Jingle! Just let Jared do all the thanking later!” Flaxseed said as he made his way into Crimson Palace with Jared, leaving Cecilia rooted to the spot with a puzzled expression.
“Just so you know, Jared, you’re in for a rough time,” Flaxseed whispered as he walked alongside Jared.
“A rough time? What do you mean by that? Are you actually able to tell fortunes?” Jared asked in confusion.
“Hahaha! You’re bound to have lots of issues when it comes to romance! You do not wish to let any of these women down, but in doing so, you will end up hurting them all. You’re extremely popular with women, and yet, they’ll still fall deeply in love with you. The choice you make is entirely up to you. An energy cultivator must be free from the desires of the flesh in order to become an immortal. As for you, well… Good luck with that! Hahaha…” Flaxseed replied and burst out laughing as he carried on walking.
“I never said I wanted to become an immortal…” Jared mumbled to himself.
The next day, Jared told Cecilia where they were headed before entering the cave with Flaxseed.
The ground inside the cave was covered with pieces of stone after Jared and Tobias’ battle from the day before.
“How will we move these rocks out of the way?” Jared asked anxiously.
“Take it easy, buddy. For now, we’ll just sit down and get some rest,” Flaxseed replied as he sat down on a large, flat piece of stone.
Huh? If we’re going to rest, why didn’t we just do so outside the cave? What’s the point of coming all the way in here just to get some rest?
Jared had no idea what was going on, but he did as told and sat down on a nearby stone anyway. He then lit a cigarette and handed Flaxseed another.
Flaxseed politely declined his offer and pulled out a tobacco pipe from his back pocket.
The two of them then puffed away as they watched the clear water flowing out of the cave wash the stones away.
About ten minutes later, Flaxseed put his tobacco pipe away and said, “All right, it’s time to get to work!”
He pulled out a stack of talismans and scribbled something on them. Soon, the inside of the cave was covered in talismans.
With the final talisman in his hand, Flaxseed turned toward Jared and asked, “Could you lend me some of your blood?”
“My blood?”
Jared was confused, but did as told and bit down on his finger anyway.
Flaxseed then drew a circle on the talisman with Jared’s blood and quickly pasted it on the giant boulder.
Rumble…
The entire cave began shaking violently when the final talisman came into contact with the giant boulder.
The other talismans emitted a bright light that shone on the giant boulder.
The talisman on the giant boulder turned crimson red as the shape on it was slowly imprinted on the boulder.
Soon, the entire boulder was exuding a blindingly bright light that illuminated the area around it.
“Close your eyes! Don’t open them until I tell you to!” Flaxseed shouted.
Jared quickly closed his eyes without any hesitation.
The next thing he knew, his body was descending rapidly as the cave shook even more violently.
