Not only did Colton, Finn, and Yuvan attack Jared in concert, but they had all also used their ultimate techniques. Yet, the latter didn’t even suffer a scratch after their strikes landed on him.
Such a vast gap in capabilities was obvious, even to an ordinary person.
Jared stared at the three men, who were in shock, coldly.
“Hmph.”
Following that grunt, a massive burst of energy suddenly exploded from the man.
With him as the center, it started spreading in all directions. Before the three men in front of him could react, they had already been swept away by the tremendous energy.
Rumble!
Under the onslaught of the terrifying energy, the entire mansion started collapsing without warning.
Fanning out his spiritual sense, Jared immediately found the room where Cecilia was held. In a flash, his figure blurred.
In no time, he appeared before Cecilia.
Cecilia gazed at the man before her. Before she could gather her wits about her, Jared had already swept her into his arms.
By then, the bricks and tiles of the entire mansion had begun raining down.
Jared shielded Cecilia zealously, allowing those bricks to hit him instead.
Nonetheless, they couldn’t injure him at all.
After the dust had settled, Jared remained standing proudly amidst the rubble with Cecilia in his arms.
Cecilia hugged his neck tightly, even as she stared at him unblinkingly.
It was clear as day that she was incredibly emotional then.
“Y-You’re really alive, Jared?”
She bit her rosy lip hard, tears pouring down her face uncontrollably.
“I’m fine. How could I possibly die? Many people want my life, but unfortunately, they can’t kill me,” Jared assured with a smile.
Right then, Colton, who had been swept out, struggled back to his feet and wiped the blood off the corner of his mouth.
His eyes blazed scarlet when he caught sight of Cecilia in Jared’s arms.
“Finn, Yuvan, we must kill him today! He’s carrying Cecilia right now, so he can’t fight back!” he said to the two other men.
The duo nodded before they started condensing martial energy in preparation for another attack.
“Quick, put me down, Jared! Don’t bother about me anymore!”
Cecilia hurriedly urged Jared to place her down upon seeing that she had become his burden.
Surprisingly, Jared didn’t release his hold on her. Instead, he flashed her a smile and murmured, “What can these three pieces of trash do to me even if I can’t make a move?”
At his nonchalant manner, her gaze gentled considerably.
At that moment, her impression of Jared improved by leaps and bounds again.
Meanwhile, the three men’s fury blazed at Jared’s contempt toward them.
Finn aimed both hands toward the rubble and made a grabbing motion.
Shortly after, the shattered bricks and tiles started swirling in the air. In the next heartbeat, a few-meter-long spear materialized in the man’s hand.
On the heels of that, more spears took shape, suspended in mid-air like sharp arrows notched to a bow, ready to launch anytime.
Colton quickly formed hand seals as well. A terrifying burst of martial energy burst forth, followed by shimmering fireballs the size of soccer balls appearing in mid-air.
Yuvan wasn’t idle either. Condensing his energy in his elixir field, he made hand seals. Innumerable fist shadows manifested around him, each as sharp as blades.
Jared watched as the trio made preparations earnestly, his lips curving upward. “It turns out that the Rider family’s expertise is in magecraft. In that case, I’ll play a bit with you all.”
After he had said that, an invisible shield covered him and Cecilia.
As he was cradling Cecilia in his arms, he could protect only himself but not her if he merely used Golem Body.
Thus, he made some hand seals so an invisible shield materialized out of thin air that could protect them both.
“Attack!” Colton roared.
All three of them attacked at the same time. Countless spears and fireballs shot toward Jared.
The fist shadows followed closely behind, planning to strike the man after the first barrage of attacks shattered his defensive barrier.
