Coby was beside himself with fury when he heard that. “You—”
At that moment, a cackle of laughter rang out. Then, Skylar and several others walked forward slowly with Skylar in the lead. “My men speak the truth. So what if you’re the Rowling family’s eldest son? Why does it matter to the Norton family whether you live or die?”
Coby was enraged when he saw Skylar there. “Skylar Norton, what do you mean by this? Didn’t we have a deal? We agreed to an equal share of the magical items we got!”
“Who the f*ck would want to share with you? We’re in Jadeborough now. It’s my territory, yet you still think of getting a share of the spoils? How delusional! Not only do I want all the magical items Jared has for my own, but I also want him dead!”
Realization finally dawned on Jared. So, among those that Coby brought, there are some who work for the Norton family. I can’t believe their two families teamed up to defeat me. But by the looks of it, Coby was tricked by Skylar.
Coby glared at Skylar furiously. “You’d better not regret this, Skylar. The Rowling family is no pushover. Even though we’re in Jadeborough, I still have ways of crushing the Norton family to dust!”
Skylar burst out laughing at Coby’s threat.
“You sure are amusing. Just look at the situation you’re in now. Do you still think you have a chance of walking away alive?”
Having said that, Skylar turned to Jared. “If you kill him now and kneel before me, I’ll grant you a swift death.”
Jared gazed at him grimly. Although this guy isn’t all that strong, he’s very conniving. It’ll be tricky to deal with someone like him. If he hadn’t deliberately exposed all my secrets on the martial arts forum, I wouldn’t be targeted by all these sects and families now.
“Jared, let me go. As long as you release me, I’ll forget about all my grievances against you and call it even. I won’t try to take your magical items from you either. What do you say?” said Coby.
However, Jared did not let go because he had no idea whether the whole thing was an act that Coby and Skylar had cooked up together.
If I let him go and both of them gang up on me, I’ll be a dead man.
Seeing that Jared did not trust him, Coby started to panic. He was genuinely afraid that the former would kill him.
“I’ve never borne any grievances or grudges against you. I lost my rationality because of Skylar’s provocations. That’s why I decided to attack you. I guarantee I won’t turn against you after you let me go. We can even join forces to take Skylar down! Even if you kill me, you won’t be able to flee from his clutches,” Coby pleaded earnestly.
Staring at him, Jared finally slowly loosened his grip.
Skylar was a little taken aback when he saw Jared release Coby, not expecting he would actually do that.
Once Coby had regained his freedom, he shot daggers at Skylar. “How dare you trick me, Skylar Norton! I’m going to f*cking kill you today!”
With that, Coby’s aura surged and burst forth. Then, he aimed a blow at Skylar.
Coby had long since attained the capabilities of a Top Level Martial Arts Grandmaster, and he was about to break through to the level of Semi Martial Arts Marquis. Meanwhile, Skylar had only just ascended to Top Level Martial Arts Grandmaster.

Turning to them, Skylar snarled, “You b*stards! Are the lot of you dead? Get him!”
Without wasting any time, the men charged toward Coby.
